Very, very insightful. I just discovered that some of these 2-bedroom HOMES in Waterfall, which is upscale Jo'Burg, are cheaper than most 2-bedroom APARTMENTS in similar areas in Nairobi. Given that Jo'Burg is more developed and SA a much more robust economy than Kenya, I believe there is something wrong with the real estate market in Nairobi.
I think a lot of African countries price things in USD terms with very little regard to cost vs value so you find a lot of overpriced real estate which does not even translate to the real economy. The only thing I can think of is we have a lot of dirty money from crime and corruption which inflates prices.
It is correct pricing, apart from development, prices depends on the hype created for its market not necessarily how the property looks or have, but also Africans can charge an arm and a leg for a useless thing. South African house market is priced for its citizens excluding cape town while we still enjoy a fairly strong currency against other African countries. the mortgage system to a great extent plays a role in regulating prices area. We have a Township called Tembisa here, mxm! those blacks can sell to you a dilapidated property for almost a million rand and banks usually don't finance such madness. it is hyped to be a good for business
Developed by whites, I don't know why my fellow blacks are fooling themselves here in the comment section, out all the properties shown here not more than 3% are black owned

Colonisers would have settled anywhere in the continent if they wanted to.They were intentional about the region in the continent that would benefit them mostly. They settled in South Africa because it was an ideal halfway point between Europe, India and the then-Dutch East Indies at a time when the spice trade was still lucrative thus they could also access slaves from India, Zanj coast, Bengal, Malay with ease to bring them to SA. Mildness of the climate compared to the rest the continent was a plus because it helped them develop industries such as horticulture, agriculture and livestock farming. Biodiversity in the Cape region was really a bonus because of the large amounts of arable lands and resources that were available along with an arid-to-semi arid climate that is Mediterranean. If conditions in South Africa were different, the country would not have been on their radar at all.
Blue hills equestrian(15 min) is almost on par with waterfall, if not, it is definitely second. I also think Marlbank, Mooikloof equestrian, Helderfontein estate, Ebotse estate and Cornwall hill deserve a shoutout...

Nigeria realtors and construction engineers should come and see what you call getting ur moneys worth when it comes to real estate

Enjoy watching your videos. Just a minor correction. Waterfall Country Estate is not located 10,000 KM from Sandton. It’s only 12km, about 15 min drive. Otherwise, dope
I think he made a mistake. He meant 10KM
Hawu obviously he meant 10KM

I agree with Waterfall Equestrian. The yards are huge and absolutely beautiful.
South Africa has one of the best lad out in the world and also shouts out to them for putting in the effort to stop the killing in Palestine 🇵🇸
Guys the estate style is amazing, can we adopt something like this in the Nigerian real estate market?
I wish we could
Swallow your pride 1st n ask other africans to be involved in nigeria because in nigeria what they know best is demolishing good things n to bring Chinese in that country
Welcome to South Africa 🇿🇦 proudly South African 🇿🇦
SA property market is cheap compared to Kenyan. As a Kenyan who lived there, I can assure you that you get value for your money.
Next time you should go to satelite and smart cities such as:
Sandton
Rosebank
Melrose Arch
Waterfall City
south africa is amongst the well developed countries in the world
Developed by whites, I don't know why my fellow blacks are fooling themselves here in the comment section, out all the properties shown here not more than 3% are black owned
Steve i was heart broken when you you took this video down but thanks for re uploading it, 🙏 ,i also liked cape Verde and ivory Coast videos.
Download it before it goes down again
SA arch is out of this world
since I was a kid I wanted to stay in Steyn City... I love it and it's beautiful AF
South Africa also have naturally beautiful landscape. This country God blessed it with natural beauty I have traveled but SA is beautiful

The houses are cheap compared to smaller houses in banana island Lagos, Nigeria.
True that
Probably because in SA everything is priced in rands and the estates featured are owned by locals as opposed to ultra luxury you find in Cape Town which attracts foreign millionaires and property is way more expensive.
@@nlocnil3602 it’s cheaper because of accessibility, it’s more accessible in SA, the land, materials, financing and the market.

Johannesburg is the Los Angeles of Africa.
Agree or disagree🤚?
True
So true, in fact a lot of Americans tourists do confirm Johannesburg is build like Los Angeles.
I believe LA is a coastal area
Cape Town..
This is free commercial for joburg realtors
Saddlebrook, Blair Athol and Dunblane should be on this list as well...
Blair Athol!
They're not in Johannesburg.
And Monaghan Farm.

I was in Joburg in March this year and I was blown away by the planning and the mansions that is almost bigger than some shopping Malls here in Australia. Nigerian's planning is so warp that I was unashamely saying possibly if we had allowed the British to stay on in Nigeria till the 80s may be just may be the nation would not be in the shambles as it is now.
Everything you see in this video was built after the black government took over by majority of black engineers /labour/architects so if you think this is all because of white people you are lost
Thank you very much for doing a perfect job on my mansions!
South Africa is something else... I like the name Serengeti one of the popular national parks in Tanzania
Yah and in KZN there is a Serengeti estate I think it might be the same company
Waterfall City is not 10000km from Sandton, maybe 10km to 15km via N1 route.
Such a good video, from editing to information on the communities and homes. Can you please make one of these in Nigeria? ☺
Blue hills equestrian(15 min) is almost on par with waterfall, if not, it is definitely second.
I also think Marlbank, Mooikloof equestrian, Helderfontein estate, Ebotse estate and Cornwall hill deserve a shoutout...
The focus was on Johannesburg. Yes, those you mentioned are beautiful.
Blue Hills Estate is definitely in top 3, maybe after Steyn City (it is in Midrand Johannesburg). It is definitely way better and more luxurious than Serengeti and Eye of Africa, those last 2 were not suppose to be in the top 5
@@evidencesithole768 100% agree with you.
Blue hills equestrian 100%
I'd definitely put Ebotse there in the place of Serengeti, though it's in Benoni, they keep saying "in and around Johannesburg" in the video.
We miss you Steve and hope you can be giving us content like this frequently cause I do love your very videos
Thank you
Finally in Johannesburg
Steven I would appreciate it if I could take you around Johannesburg and not just luxurious cities but also the deep part of the townships.
I LIKE HOW YOU SHOWED MY CITY OF Gold
That will be nice, where are you based?
We don't really care about deep parts of townships my dear. We not trying to buy properties in Tembisa and Alex 😭😭😭
Why would he do that? I have yet to come across a USA real estate vlog showing some of the best real estate in the USA and some random person requesting that they show the run down ghettos in LA. We Africans are really our biggest enemies. If you want to see townships there is plenty of content focused on that.
@@tyali84 it is not your content to decide that is the sad part, and I believe it is important to balance everything equally, there are average homes and rich homes

Waterfall Equestrian Estate is absolutely beautiful. Love how green and well manicured the outdoor areas are.. The architecture is amazing. Johannesburg is essentially in a dry and arid region but the landscaping in a lot of these estates is superb.. Great video..
True, the most greenery in Joburg is man-made.
Besides Cape town and JHB, South Africa still has lovely and massive residential properties in Durban and Pretoria. Hopefully you will do these two cities as well. You will be astonished.
Not to even mention the countless resorts in Mpumalanga lowveld, Northwest, KZN and Limpopo.
