There is a formula to eradicate poverty in Africa & to make the continent excel. - Lean government - Privatisation & economic liberalisation - Judicious public spending on water, sewerage, drainage, roads and refuse collection. - Basic welfare grants for education, health, food, shelter, clothing, transport and communication. That will create poverty eradicating mass employment at all skill levels & private sector ltd growth. @@69memnon69 "Eskom used to be reliable until the ANC turned it into a state owned corporation". Eskom has always been state owned. Also is it at all accurate to say it was always reliable if electricity was only provided to about 30% of the country during apartheid times? There used to be occasional blackouts during this period as well but it was mainly in townships which were considered to be unimportant so the myth is there was not issues with electricity supply before ANC came into power just so all the blame can be placed on ANC. When the ANC came in to power they gradually started ramping up production to over 70% of the country, this will obviously come with challenges. None of this is covered in this video, it only paints a picture of a party that is only corrupt and produced nothing positive. Previous CEOs have reported and attempted to deal with some of the issues regarding Eskom but this video shows the only white CEO as being the one person who tried to fix the issues at Eskom as if to imply every other CEO was out to commit corruption. Does this sound pretty accurate? Sounds pretty one sided to me, there are other issues as well.

You've got everything in this documentary right except your perception of de ruyter, he was as much responsible for the collapse of Eskom as anyone else. We've had over 300 days without losdshedding thanks to CEO's appointed after him. He's probably the most useless Eskom Ceo we've ever had

A couple of points. First, not everyone in the ANC is corrupt. Second, much of the opposition would be just as corrupt as the ANC were they to win power- maybe even worse.

There is a formula to eradicate poverty in Africa & to make the continent excel.
- Lean government
- Privatisation & economic liberalisation
- Judicious public spending on water, sewerage, drainage, roads and refuse collection.
- Basic welfare grants for education, health, food, shelter, clothing, transport and communication.
That will create poverty eradicating mass employment at all skill levels & private sector ltd growth.
Couple this with governance reforms
- Recall democracy
- Separation of powers
- Central bank independence
- Single African market
If we did that Africa would become an economic superpower to rival the United States, EU and China.
Johannesburg does not have or need hundreds of thousands of air conditioners.
Yes we do have hundreds of 1000’s and yes we do need them. Do live in a shack??
@@SueLeo1 How rude.
8:34 FACT CHECK: Eskom has always been state-owned @TDC
Good vid, but the narration is too quiet in relation to the unnecessary background music.
Come to Zambia 🇿🇲 😢
By painting our country in such a bad light you are worsening our situation, condemning us to be overlooked by tourists and investors, the truth is things are actually improving faster now that we have a new government. It's time to invest in South Africa because things are going up from here 👌
If you were an investor yourself, would you put your money in a broken system that will swallow it up? We need to fix what's dysfunctional in our country, that will attract investors-knowing their hard earned money will yield returns instead of evaporating into thin air.
@langamaphumulo5009 I actually am an investor and if you actually know anything about the markets the JSE is actually up and the continued interest rate cuts are improving the situation. Right now is the buy low moment for South Africa.
@@ericgardiner7715 have fun going broke then, you fool.
Yeah na DOW is doing fair bit better than JSE ... but no worries ... 50% of pension is off shore ... and I seem to do ok for work IT work .... there's 1000s of IT jobs
And ... load shedding has finished , none in over a year now ... load shedding has FINISHED !!!
And weather is awesome and solar is awesome and weed is legal ... 24 hrs weed and pizza and convenience shop right by my house
But yeah ... Africa 🌍
Invest in South Africa? 😂
0:55 The what are exposed to toxic fumes?😂
Why is South Africa spending trillions to make a billion profit?????
Nice
Load shedding doesn’t mean weight shedding obviously…..
How criminals run the country you mean😂

KJV Ephesians 6:12 🤔👍
This is a pretty inaccurate story and paints a one sided picture of the actual situation in south africa especially where anc is involved, bad and biased journalism.
Sounds pretty accurate to me and is why myself and many others left the country.
Wonder why the rich even bother living there still, do you know why?
I’m a South African.
I think these people must be allowed to mine the old mines if they want to.
Just regulate it.
Why stop them?
People need to earn and if they want to use closed mines to earn I can’t see the point in stopping them.
Can you??
Yes, there is a point.
1) The mines belong to SOUTH AFRICANS.
2) 90% of the miners are illegal immigrants from other African Countries. This is called STEALING!
3) The mines are dangerous and unsafe to mine. It’s against the Law to go in them.
Want any more reasons?
I have plenty more you dummy!
Dude,thats less than $10
can you do next video of Madrid?
nice job Mandela!
The same story everywhere in Africa, are we curse, or what?
Just corruption

Descent video, however when you got to Eskom you waffled your way through
Very good documentary
Would love more positive African content
You've got everything in this documentary right except your perception of de ruyter, he was as much responsible for the collapse of Eskom as anyone else. We've had over 300 days without losdshedding thanks to CEO's appointed after him. He's probably the most useless Eskom Ceo we've ever had
Read his book. The old brass at Eskom were constantly trying to sabotage him. He has even been poisoned at work to keep him quiet and has now even fled the country.
A couple of points. First, not everyone in the ANC is corrupt. Second, much of the opposition would be just as corrupt as the ANC were they to win power- maybe even worse.
Heavy on DA too, capitalists who only care about tourist and rich areas
If you accept corruption you are as bad. Only in Africa can we have 12 ANC members with pending corruption cases sitting in parliament. The only ones more corrupt than the ANC would be the EFF or MK.
it depends on the opposition you talk about. the DA deals decisively with corruption and their municipalities consistently get clean audits
@@lm_b5080 Agreed which is why I did not say all the opposition
Yes, everybody in the ANC is corrupt from the President down..
The DA would restore South Africa but it will take 20 years.
Any other party would be as bad if not worse than the ANC. This is the Truth..
Bring Trump to SA

These are Zimbabweans claiming to be South Africans. There is no country without poor and rich people. People in England, France, America, Canada and many more are homeless . SA is not the only country with poor people
