This train journey makes me so emotional! I can remember my childhood journey from Chittagong to Comilla by train from 1964 to 1981 when the train was one of the most convenient modes of transport! We didn't have any luxurious compartments, but there was love and affection from the train staff and crew! Nowadays we have the fastest trains having AC sleepers and executive berths, but all the sweet days have disappeared!
A beautifully narrated journey. I am a proud child of Africa. Born and raised in Zambia ( then Northern Rhodesia ) I attended high school as a border in Bulawayo Zimbabwe ( Rhodesia ) and I now live in South Africa since 1981. I have seen Victoria Falls a few times and I have visited many beautiful Game Reserves. This video takes its viewers on a wonderful African journey 👍

Saw things of great beauty and remembered a journey from Capetown to Daresalam although along the Coast; working on a Cargo Ship from the German East Afrika Line back in the middle of the 1970ties as Able-bodied Seaman, 20 years old. Thank you for bringing that back to me.

The beautiful landscapes of a eastern African railway journey is a fascinating documentary video which have never been broadcasted ever before. Bro, I appreciate your sentiments for a united Africa being "One". But Africa is far too diverse with too many different languages, culture, history, ideals and aspirations. Take Somalia for instance ; it must be the the most divided country in the world, fighting each other tooth and nail. By all standards, it is regarded as a "failed state". Just how do you propose to unite an entire continent if you can't even unite and reconcile one country? Let's be realistic before being idealistic. Africa's potential is largely underutilized and unrealized. Each country must first realize it's own potential, utilize it's own resources, develop it's own people and infrastructure and succeed on it's own without aid from abroad. And then, through co-operation with their neighbors, develop a sub-region before tackling the continent as a whole. If not, then one strong nation will over power another and exploit the weaker one. An artificially united Africa will quickly be subject to immense power struggles and it will quickly be "hijacked" by unscrupulous, power hungry individuals that will dump the entire continent into crisis. Uniting Africa through sentiment alone will make it weaker, not stronger and will tear itself apart.
Rovos Rail ! A captivating experience. Had a chance to drive on one of her runs through my country , Zambia. A scintillating feeling ! Keep it up Rovos Rail, we are indeed proud of you !
Talk about a bucket-list item! I've was in Zimbabwe in 1990 (before it was ruined by Mugabe) and Ghana in 1974 for the Peace Corps and have always wanted to go back for more, because Africa is a truly magical place that transported me back to humanity's original homeland. I swear that the landscapes and animals stirred some ancient memories locked in my DNA, as close to a religious experience as anyone can get, including us skeptics. Everyone who's been there will know what I mean!
