We love Neys and Rainbow Falls. We have done this trip twice. It is one of our favourite parts of Canada. Absolutely amazing. Thanks for this. You have given us lots of ideas for next time.
Thanks for watching and for the recommendations! Rainbow Falls is a good one.
I’ve done this trip a bunch and have never done Neys but have heard great things about it so it’s on the list for next time.
I hope you get to some of the spots this summer!
Pancake Bay is my families favorite spot ❤...Orphan Lake also being the #1 hike in lake superior!!!
It's a beautiful spot! Thanks for the great tip and suggestion to hike to Orphan Lake. I'll have to do that next time 🥾🙌🏼
Pebble beach in Marathon is also a must see.
Yes! 🙌🏼 Great addition. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I just started camping and paddling this year (in my fabulous 40s!) and Lake Superior PP and Sleeping Giant PP are on my list for sure. I'm really loving your content. It's very inspiring and every time I go out on my board now, I can't help but yell ADVENTIA!
I love that you started doing these things and it sounds like you're having a great time!
Thank you so much for the kind words and for checking out my content. I really appreciate it!
Put this road trip on your list for next summer. It will be an advencha!! 🤙🏼
Fantastic video! I’ve done this driven at least a dozen times and all of these spots have been favorites! Thanks so much for sharing
Thanks for watching and for the kind comment 🙏🏼
This drive is one of my favourites and it was fun exploring old favs and new places again!
Any additional ones you'd add?
Great video! Love the info about gas stations, washrooms and such.
Thanks for watching and commenting, Ryan! It's a pretty epic road trip with no shortage of stops and places to explore 🚙🙌🏼
Thankyou So much, you made my trip easy. ❤
I’m glad this video helped! It’s an amazing part of Ontario to explore!
Oh just found your channel so excited to see what you have ❤I live in Niagara Falls area , so nice to see some of what’s around Ontario to visit !!!
Welcome 👋🏼 Thanks for the kind comment! Ontario has lots of awesome places to explore!
Great idea for a travelog
Thanks! Loads of amazing spots to explore in this area
Kama Lookout picnic area has amazing views of Nipigon Bay.
Thanks for the suggestion! I’d love to see Kama Cliffs on my next trip!
Many of the stops mentioned are definitely on my bucket list!
So many great spots to explore in this area of Ontario. What’s at the top of your list?
Great video! Unique and engaging style and fantastic presentation👍Really enjoyed watching this!❤️
Thanks for watching and for the kind comment! 😁
This is a great video and summary of all the highlights in this area. We have driven through here by car, and have seen most of them but not all. This summer we hope to take our Bikes through here and complete our Cross-Canada tour and visit some of your top recommendations! Thanks!
Thanks for watching and commenting. I'm glad it was a good summary.
Did I miss any you would add? What's one you haven't been but now want to?
Sounds like you have a summer full of epic adventures ahead! 👏🏼
@@PaddleAdventurer we have been to all of them, with the exception of Chippewa falls and Agawa Rock Pictographs (and the long/high suspension Bridge). We definitely want to check these out in our next stretch of our cross Canada tour. Although it is to the West of TB, On I would add Kakabeka Falls. It one of my favorite spots in NW ON. Cheers.
@@joshandjamesvosperfromhere6887 You've seen a lot! It always blows my mind how many epic spots there are to explore along this stretch! I have a video on Thunder Bay that includes Kakabeka Falls. If you're up in T.Bay this year there are a few other gems in and around I'd also recommend adding to the list! ruclips.net/video/wfvxedDnEXY/видео.htmlsi=0DdnbxEuEEASnxrW
So many places to visit!
The volume of parks and epic places to explore is amazing! I can’t wait to do this road trip with you one day soon 📍🚙🙌🏼
A great video! Come back sometime and we will hook you up with a hike, a paddle at Rossport, and some rock climbing with our friend Aric!
Thanks so much! It was amazing being back in this area of Ontario again.
I might just take you up on that offer! Whats the best way to connect?
Pebble Beach in Marathon is also cool, though an absolute menace to walk on. then Mink Creek Falls, west of Marathon. its not easy to find, but worth it.
if you get down to the beach at Terrace Bay, the hike up to the Lou Duquette Bridge wins you a pretty awesome view out to Lake Superior. you can also get to the bridge from Aguasabon Falls, its just a longer hike.
Thanks for these awesome tips and suggestions! I’ll have to check them out.
Great video
Thanks for watching and commenting. Highly recommend this Ontario road trip!
I've done this trip many times and have been to all of the spots except for bathtub island and the double suspension bridges. I've also boondocked close to Wawa by the Michipicoten River. Next to the Canadian Rockies, Sleeping Giant is my next favourite. BTW, I'm a former scuba diver and donned my wetsuit and snorkeled over to Silver Islet (there is No Trespassing on the actual islet). Met a couple canoeing and they asked me "where did you come from?"
It sounds like you've had some amazing adventures! I agree, Sleeping Giant is an awesome place! 🙌🏼
How was snorkeling over the old silver mines? It was spooky enough paddling over them but I bet it was super neat to see clearly in the water! I'm also a SCUBA diver 🤿
Have you done the Trans-Canada HWY Lake Superior coastal drive from Sault Ste. Marie to Thunder Bay? Or are looking to do it? What are some of your favourite stops or what ones are at the top of your list to check out!
This Road trip is definitely the best in Ontario!
@@Shusts_in_Canada It really is! What are your favourite stops?
Old woman Bay
@@manwhowalkstheland8488 beautiful spot!
Great video! If I could recommend adding if there are charging stations for EV owners. Just a quick add if there are concerns or conveniences. Thanks 😊
Thanks for watching and commenting. I don’t remember off the top of my head but great suggestion for the next road trip video!
You missed the Dorion Tower and Kakabeka Falls. Also, fantastic view from Kama picnic area. But, overall, a pretty decent video!
Oooh, thanks for the added suggestions! I'd love the check out Dorian Tower and Kama Cliffs.
I included Kakabeka Falls in the Thunder Bay video since it's a little past the city when coming from The Soo. Check the video out here ruclips.net/video/wfvxedDnEXY/видео.htmlsi=hmoEGrwl8bwaXDPT
@@PaddleAdventurer ,also , if you would like an interesting adventure for yourself, check out the paddle into White Otter Castle. Lots of nice beaches, and island camping spots for that one. A firend and I did that one last year...(we use pedal Kayaks, though)
Thanks for the suggestion! I'd love to get back up that way soon. I have a few backcountry trips planned on my SUP but in Southern Ontario.
Made this drive many times, but have not visited very many of these stops. One that I have that is not on your list is high falls just south of Wawa. When I stopped there this past fall I could not believe that this is not a major attraction. Shame on Wawa Town council for not investing in this and promoting 6
Agreed; it’s hard to do all the stops! I too have done this drive many times and only recently was able to stop at some new places.
Thanks for the great addition! I’ve added Scenic High Falls to my list. 🙌🏼
Perfect, helpful info for me. Hoping to spend the 2024 summer slowly working my way from Thunder Bay to north of Toronto, hiking, biking, and kayaking along the way. These are exactly the types of stops/basecamp areas I would use (and then I use public library wireless to work remotely). Have any travel/paddling info on the north shore of Georgian Bay? I have never been to Canada yet and these are great looks at what's there. Last summer I basically did the same type of travel, along the south side of Superior, in the U.S.
Thanks for the kind comment! Sounds like you're going to have an awesome summer adventuring!
I don't have anything on the north shore of Georgian Bay but I would highly recommend going to Killarney. This video is of the backcountry but at the end we finish our trip with fish and chips in the town of Killarney which is right on Lake Huron. ruclips.net/video/xby7kyS4_04/видео.htmlsi=v0r0GvnFAuN1wcdJ
I'd also recommend driving up the Bruce Peninsula and taking the ferry to Manitoulin Island. I talk about it at the end of this video.
South Bruce Peninsula ruclips.net/video/CTuyA4vNVr0/видео.htmlsi=hudAQqsILTSY0scC and then on the peninsula, Tobermory ruclips.net/video/cHzMC-ySYus/видео.htmlsi=D5dswbjjQObOcLs_ and Lion's Head ruclips.net/video/J2MHWQJ30Bk/видео.htmlsi=kjqWGCFye8hJMM2a are great stops!
I hope these other videos help. Have an epic summer touring around the Great Lakes in Ontario 🤙🏼
Thanks for the great video. How is the trip from Sault Ste. Marie to Toronto across the north side of Lake Huron? Is there great places to see there?
Thanks for watching and commenting!
Going north around Lake Huron vs taking the ferry via the Bruce Peninsula you go by Muskoka Lakes area and a few different Provincial Parks which are beautiful places plus Sudbury is a great place to check out.
Could you add a quick map marking where places are? Is google maps a good place to look up places in Canada?
Thanks for watching and for the feedback. I can't add anything to a video once posted but stay tuned as I'll be publishing a full blog with maps and all the details soon! Subscribe to the blog to not miss out. paddleadventurer.com/subscribe/
In the meantime all spots are searchable on Google Maps.
Here is the blog with a map! paddleadventurer.com/ontario-road-trip/
47.852400, -84.884520 Noisy Bay Trail is a favorite trail of mine.
Thanks so much for the suggestion! I’ll have to check that out on my next trip.
