A Morning of Self-Reflection and Discovery on my Paddle Board
If you come back to the Sault, you have to come in the early fall. Hike Robertson Cliffs and Havilland Bluffs. Both beautiful. The top of Robertson Cliffs faces east and make a great morning hike to catch the sunrise over the fan colors. Havilland Bluffs face west over the bay and let me tell you how beautiful those sunsets are. Absolutely amazing ❤ Bathtub Island is an amazing spot to spend the day as well!
Thanks for the great suggestions! I've hiked Robertson Cliffs before and they are beautiful, especially in the fall! I can only image sunrise there would be spectacular! I'll have to add Havilland Bluffs to my list. Check out this video which included Bathtub Island. ruclips.net/video/n4z4M0sh1TM/видео.htmlsi=vmZRUX3NFJWg1D8g
Or you could just either get back on the board/hold on to the board and swim back to shore. Its a board not a boat.
Flip rescues are used in emergencies or in situation where the person is exhausted, has a cramp or conditions have changed where they are not able to get back on their board or swim (shore might not be accessible either).
what if you need a rescue after u rescued:\
lol well first off, you should never perform a flip rescue if you can’t confidently get back on your own board and second you should call for help if it’s an unsafe situation.
Very cool adventure. Paddle boards are a great change up. Some rainy days like this you just have to tell yourself “embrace the suck”
Thanks so much for watching and commenting! Yes, paddle boards are a great change up and a cool challenge to take on. Love that "embrace the suck!" lol
Whoa didn’t know JoJo Siwa started diving
😆
Im confused... If you still have to blimb onto the board, why is this a thing?
Flip rescues are used in emergencies or situations where the person has a cramp, gets exhausted, conditions have changed, etc. You should never perform a flip rescue if you aren't confident or comfortable getting back on your own board or in a safe situation.
Don't forget the Nipigon Scenic Tower, nice small town. Also, depending when you travel, drive to Red Rock, a small community with only one road in and out. Surrounded by water and mountains, they host fishing derbies, atv runs and the upcoming Folk Fest. Moved to Northern Ontario from Southern Ontario and love all the great scenery and people.
Thanks for the added tips! There are so many amazing places. Yes, the Red Rock Folk Fest is a good one. My friend lives in the area. Have a great time at the fest and enjoying the amazing spot!
Thank you so much. We have done atv rides along the Batch, gorgeous scenery.
Thanks for watching and commenting! I bet there are some amazing ATV/snowmobile trails in that area with some great views!

Hi i have watched lots of your sup vids - i am a newbie here in the UK - so i have a starter board 15psi hydro force oceanic 10 ft x 32" x 5" so i am up and away paddled the river wye 6 miles yesterday without a dunk the board feels good im 85 kg im interested on your thoughts on my board for me ... I sort of wish i had bought a 6" board but then i read that actually even RED boards are only 5" and finally if i put more psi in my board would it make it any more stable ... thanks in advance
Thanks for checking out my videos, Steven! Your board should have a volume and weight capacity. This is dictated by the dimensions of the board but also the construction. Do you know that number for your board? The wider the board the more stable it will be. It sounds like you have a good all round beginner board. Rigidity depends on the construction and quality of the board. Never pump a board beyond the manufactures instructed PSI. You'll likely pop the board if you do. The seams and glue won't be able to hold that pressure. Red Paddle Co boards go to a higher PSI because of the quality and construction. Like a lot of things you get what you pay for type of thing. I hope this helps!
thank you 😊
Have the safest and best time out on the water!
If you can’t get back onto your board you shouldn’t be on one

This is awesome! Thank you!
Thanks for watching and for the kind feedback. I'm glad it was helpful and hope you visit Rockwood!
Video much appreciated! I'm 4 11 and have a very difficult time getting back on my board because the side strap is so far away for me and my short arms, I can't wait to try the stirup option!
Thanks for watching and commenting. I'm glad the video was helpful! Being on the shorter side you might also find getting on from the back a little easier. You can also tie a strap/rope between your middle and back handle/d-ring to grab and use as leverage when getting on from the rear. Let me know how it goes!
Potty Mouth Alert! Good bye.
I appreciate your feedback. It was one minor swear word, but I understand I'm not for everyone. Thanks for watching. I hope you find the content you're looking for. Happy adventuring!
If someone can't flup their own board and climb back on they shouldn't be paddle boarding.

Loved your energy and enthusiasm. Am researching and planning several kayak trips this look promising. Happy paddling!!!🙏
Thanks for watching and for the kind comment! What area and kayak trips and you looking to do? I'm heading out to do another one this summer around Rossport on Lake Superior again.
Love your energy! We just got an iSUP... My kids have caught the paddle board bug! Quick Question.. if I'm going to a local lake daily, can I just deflate a little bit to fold and fit in our minivan? Or will that damage the board?
Thanks for watching and for the kind comment! Welcome to paddle boarding. I'm so glad you and your kids are out having fun! Yup, you'll be fine doing that. It doesn't have to be perfect every time. But I would caution against being too rough with it, especially if it's a lower-quality board. My friend had a lower quality board she bought on Amazon and got a hole in the side where it was always folded - it could have been from dragging it or wear and tear on that section. I hope that helps. Have a safe and great time out on the water!
love canada love ontario and lake Superior!
So many amazing places to explore! 🤩
If you can’t get on a paddle board on your own , you should not be paddle boarding .
In normal situations, yes it’s important to practice and know how to get back on your board. I have a video on that too. Flip rescues are used in emergencies or situations where the person is exhausted, has a cramp, conditions have changed etc.
Love using my pocket for my phone!
Yes! You have the same PFD. This pocket is amazing. 🙌🏼💄📱
With a canoe you could explore that area for weeks.
Yes! I’d say closer to months or maybe even years. There are tons of amazing lakes and places to paddle.
Hello, I don't know what this one will be like, but the Tomshoo-pump, the one that is blue from Aliexpress is terrible, the motor is of poor quality and the pumps too, don't buy it, I bought it, and in less than 1 week I have to change the turbine motor
Oh no! I’ve never tested that model but thanks for letting folks know to stay away.
I just got 2 new boards and this was very helpful. I will also be showing it to any of my friends who will be joining me before we go on the water as many of them have never been on one either!

My paddle board POPPED while I was on it💔 so upset
Oh no! That’s scary! What happened?
super video but i opted out once you hit the terry fox thing.
Thanks for watching and commenting! I’m curious as to what it was about the Terry Fox Monument that made you want to leave the video?
I have a question how you know that the board is full of air when using manual air pumps??
Thanks for watching and for your question. Manual pumps have a gauge located on them to indicate what the PSI is at.
Just a friendly reminder with paddle board leashes: you and your leash need to be able to separate quickly in case your leash snags on something on the bottom of moving water (rivers mostly) so that it doesn’t pull you under and make you drown
Absolutely! Thanks for the important comment. A quick release leash is a must for any rivers or fast moving water. I talk a little more in depth about that in this safety video ruclips.net/video/8fKEK_1eQWg/видео.htmlsi=mnjHEr0AA9bKt314
Too much vocal frrrrrrrrryyyyyyyy.

Thank you for sharing this how to get back on the paddle board… couple of days ago I had failed many times to get back on the board. I was far away from the beach, fortunately god send me a rescue boat 😊
Thanks for watching! It’s a super important skill to learn and practice before heading out. Sounds like you got lucky and had amazing people to help you.
@@PaddleAdventurer I was really lucky and they were an angels who rescued me. I definitely need more practice to be able to go to the sea again with my paddle board. Thank you ☺️
@@aramsipan623 I’m glad the video was helpful! Good luck practicing and happy and safe paddling!
@@PaddleAdventurer Thank you 🙏
Never mind thanking the actual humans that saved you. Just chalk it up to your imaginary angels 🙄
How are people not able to get on their board, its not hard
Flip rescues are used in emergencies or situations where the person has a cramp, gets exhausted, conditions have changed, etc. I also have a video on how to get back on a paddle board. It can be challenging but it’s an important thing to learn.

I really appreciate your content! Just got into paddle boarding and this made everything so Much easier
Thanks for the kind comment. I’m glad you’re finding my content helpful! I love the Airbank Whale Shark battery powered pump, it is my main go to. I’ll be doing a video just on battery powered pumps since there are more on the market now. Let me know if you have any questions; welcome to paddle boarding!
I mean if you cant get on one yourself then maybe you shouldnt be fucking paddleboarding
In normal situations, yes it’s important to practice and know how to get back on your board. I have a video on that too. Flip rescues are used in emergencies or situations where the person is exhausted, has a cramp, conditions have changed etc.
Do you know if this will stick to the foam part of the paddle board? my board has the foam cushion or just the slick side?
It doesn’t stick as well on deck pads as they aren’t a smooth surface so I wouldn’t recommend that. Does your deck pad go over your entire board?
@@PaddleAdventurer yea it does. boo.
Try this one! amzn.to/3Y4uqpy
@@PaddleAdventurer thanks I’ll take a look

❤. Lovely!!! Outa curiosity, did i miss the Lake Tahoe paddle other than in one of your shorts? Or is that still being edited and will be in a future release? 🙂🙃🙂
Lake Huron sunsets are incredible! Good eye, Kevin! You haven't missed it. It's one of many in the long-form editing lineup. Thanks for your enthusiasm! 🤙🏼
Lovely because I don’t have much balance and I know I will fall so I just sit in it
All about doing what you enjoy and having fun! Check out my video on how to get back on a paddle board. Super important to still know how to do this even if you’re sitting. ruclips.net/video/KLzWnols0GA/видео.htmlsi=t-GtvAeI8MwpWkpU Stay safe and have fun!!
Definitely on our list now.
It's a beautiful area of Ontario and one I'm headed back to later this summer!
No thanks. I'll stay on the shore where the sharks can't get me, but I can still enjoy the view.
😆 You can virtually enjoy them through my videos. Also, I’m on Lake Huron, one of the Great Lakes. No sharks here! ❌🦈
You forgot the fishing pole
😆 I’m not really a fisher but I would love to try fishing from my paddle board! 🎣
I will need to work on this. Haven't paddleboarded since last September with an instructor on this specifically. Using Carabiner and leash. Unfortunately seems I overstrained and damaged my phrenic nerve which controls the diaphragm. I became breathless a couple of days later. Though there was no pain. So now due to have surgery on the diaphragm shortly at Royal Papworth hospital but it's a bit drastic. Once I've recovered I'll be back on the board. The stirrup method looks promising for me. I think I did too much pulling on the leash!
I hope you are able to recovery and get back out on the water. You might also find getting on from the side or rear of the board with more kicking vs pulling. I find i use my legs more when getting on from the side but that does require hip mobility. Getting on from the rear you are doing less pulling and using your arms and body weight to push the board down and under you. I hope these techniques help you find the best way for you!
Actually on reflection maybe I was using the leash the wrong way and pulling more than pushing board down and getting arms on. But I do remember having trouble to kick legs up. I was wearing buoyancy aid that was probably riding up a bit. I bought from Decathlon and it doesn't have a zip to close , and does tend to ride up. Inst 5:10 ructor was going to recommend a more suitable one. Aiming to get back on next season!
Leashes are used to keep your board with you if you fall off. Remember to keep your legs straight out behind you. PFDs are important to wear but do add an extra layer. Always important to try different ways with your equipment on. You can absolutely do this! 🙌🏼
I am a boat owner.. so still looking for someplace to put the bailing devise and a fire extinguisher.😂
lol fair enough! I remember when SUP was new to Canada and it was put in the same category as canoes and kayaks and thus you had to have a bailer too. 😆
Newbie here and not a swimmer. Is it ok to sup if i have good pfd? Im looking at the nrs ninja. Thx 😊
Thanks for watching and reaching out! If you can't swim I'd highly recommend taking a lesson and practicing getting back on your board in water you can stand in. Here is a video with 3 different methods. ruclips.net/video/KLzWnols0GA/видео.htmlsi=MGdGTe1FGr3QixBT Wearing a full foam vest PFD and staying within shoreline distance is also recommended.
Bonjour, je suis une femme 1 m 78 pour 58 kg qu'elle longueur largeur et forme de nez de paddle choisir. Pour randonnées sur des grands lacs. Sportive mais jamais fait de paddle. Merci !
Thanks for watching and reaching out! First off, it depends on your budget and ability to transport and store. Check out a blog I did on how to choose a paddle board. paddleadventurer.com/how-to-choose-a-paddleboard/ You'll want to check the weight capacity to ensure it will have enough volume for your needs. Wider boards will be more stable for beginners but will not be as efficient or fast in water. My first board and one I still use a lot today is 11'3 in length and 32" wide and it's a great beginner board with room to grow into the sport. If you're looking to hike to lakes with the board ideally you want a compact inflatable paddle board. I know a few companies make them. I have two from Red Paddle Co and they are a lot lighter and pack down to half the size of my other iSUPs. Of course they are a little more expensive. If you live in Canada or the US I do have a 10% discount on Red boards and products with code "paddleadventurer" Here is the link to one of their compacts alnk.to/cSHN3c3 If you can test some boards about before you commit either from renting, borrowing form friends or from a store/brand demo day. Let me know if you have any other questions and what board you decided to buy!
Hey are you ok? *blub* Thats not a no so 🤷♀️
lol Not all people in the water need help. It’s an observation type question.
