Minnesota…Land of 1,000 Surprises! Totally blown away(no pun intended) by those magnificent ocean-like views with those sheer cliffs & the pounding waves! 🌊 I need a print of that deer you photographed in the woods enveloped by the beautiful colors of the leaves on the trees & bushes!😱 The lighthouse, the lakes, the falls! Great video. Loved that Tettegouche and the Northshore are getting some respect and love from dome outdoor enthusiasts. I highly recommend the Northshore in the spring when the waterfalls are flowing at full power. Insanel powerful forces of nature to see up close.

That is pretty cool that people in the Midwest who are far from the ocean, can at least drive to the Great Lakes and places like this and get that same experience. It really does look like the Oregon coast.

I went to the North Shore for the first time last year and loved it. I went in the 3rd week of September and autumn was peaking. They have their fall a bit earlier than most of the country. It was so gorgeous AND I got to see the Northern Lights!

Husband and I stumbled onto your vlogs and have been addicted ever since! We relate to y’all in so many ways that we just laugh and look at each other and say well of course they would like that too! A few examples, our first vacation was to Austin- hiking, walked around Lady Bird in the morning with our dog and coffees, and of course BBQ! We had a make your own taco/nacho bar as the entree for our wedding with a s’mores table (our favorite is wit a peanut butter cup). Every year we drive to another national park and hike, kayak, and chase waterfalls. I could go on and on- lol! Keep up the fun vlogs! @@AdventuresofAplusK We live in Baton Rouge but went on a trip up to Shawnee and was blown away because driving up to it you don’t see the mountains because they are below sea level. They were formed when the ice melted leaving massive canyons and rock formations. Acadia is our favorite that we have been to together so far but I knew you would know about it 😁
Awesome series on Minnesota’s North Shore. I will let this comment speak for all the videos. As always, excellent job on the whole production. Great trails, great food, great filming, and great information. I haven’t been to the North Shore area, only the Twin Cities and southern Minnesota. This area really gives me vibes of Maine’s coast. I knew there were some neat waterfalls up in this region but I wasn’t expecting it to be so hilly. What a gorgeous area! If and when I get up Voyageurs, I will definitely add some time on for the North Shore. Thanks for sharing!
We can see the similarities with Maine! The North Shore was spectacular! So much to see and do. Tons of waterfalls, hikes, little towns. A+ area for sure! We were bummed to not be able to do Voyageurs! One day!
Thank you for sharing more adventures along the North Shore! Glad you enjoyed it! It’s truly one of my favorite places in the world and I feel so so lucky to live just a few hours south!!💙🌲
We loved your video! That part of Minnesota surely looks like a real Gem! 💎 Seeing those pies from Betty's and how much you guys enjoyed them made Mike & I want to visits that place and try them out for ourselves! And how cool that you were given an extra slice! I think that kindness you two experienced is what is known in that state as "Minnesota Nice." Thanks for another AWESOME video!! 👍
Amazing spot with those frogs 🐸 and as always, really appreciated the deer footage 🦌❤️. The waves crashing into those caves along the shore was amazing but also, seeing how far you guys were from that, I'm very jealous of whatever telephoto lens you must have! Crazy to see the leaves turning already out there, for us it's never as early as August! I really hope your change of plans were for something fun or exciting as I picked up on there not being a video on Monday or yesterday... the tables were turning and I was started to worry about YOU guys!!! ❤️
Thanks for the kind words on the shots! We actually don’t even have that great of a zoom lens, we’d love a legit telephoto, but my arm hurts thinking about how heavy it is! Unfortunately the change of plans was just needing to work more haha, we’re moving wayyyyy too fast and it’s catching up to us big time, but we have a two week break coming soon (just from traveling and filming, not from posting)! Now we’re even on the worrying 😉❤️
You guys had a big day with the hikes, the beach, and Split Rock. Next time you come through the state you need to check out the big open pit iron ore mines around Hibbing. PS. I think Kona likes Minnesota.
I can’t believe how incredible each and everyone of your videos have been. We went to Minnesota’s North shore and even took a day cruise on Lake Superior in this area. We never saw half these places. Not only do you bring us to wonderful spots but you also make us remember the ones we saw.
Thank you so much for posting these vlogs! I just visited Duluth this weekend and this video and your Canal Park video were perfect for reliving my trip. Your videos are not only fun to watch but also professional in appearance. Subscribed!
So glad you enjoyed the North Shore!! It is definitely Minnesota's gem! We live in the Twin Cities and get to the North Shore and Duluth at least once a year! Safe travels! 😊
@@AdventuresofAplusK Thank you!! I plan on hiking it southbound from the high falls at the Canadian border all the way to Duluth MN!! Roughly 300+ miles! I'm excited!!
Our trees are a bit stressed this year with heat and drought, so some are turning or dropping leaves already. We are heading to Tofte on Sunday so hoping the smoke is tolerable from the Greenwood fires. We hope to get some biking in! Lovely vids!
The Great Lakes offer such hidden treasures, don’t they? Your hikes along superior remind of me of some of the lesser known areas along Lake Ontario with the jagged cliffs and crashing waves. I’ve always wanted to see Superior and hope to make it someday. Also: those pies!
Great videos guys! Thanks for all the travel tips. I discovered Minnesota's beauty by going to the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. Endless route possibilities with the canoe. You would love it. Take a week out there and do a 50+ mile loop. You won't see hardly anyone once you get a few portages out. . It will be a challenge to film the trip but worth it.
Now that you've got a taste of Mn north shore, you should try sea kayaking the Apostle Islands sea caves in Wi. You'll need to wait for calm weather though but I promise it will be an adventure to remember!
I'm so excited to see that you guys went to Minnesota! I grew up an hour and a half east of Fargo, so I know the areas well!! I can also recommend a couple of places to visit on your next time through! Itasca State park is amazing and is the Headwaters of the Mississippi River. It's super beautiful! Otter Tail county actually has over 1800 lakes in this one county and is more than any other county in the country. I also recommend spending some time around Stillwater and Winona! There are so many beautiful places to check out in Minnesota!! I hope you get to explore more of it!
Hello Adventurers😊😊😊, you went to Betty's Pies and, you made it to Split Rock Lighthouse State Park! I'm so thrilled that you were able to explore all of Minnesota's north shore. You are going to love Duluth and all of its great restaurants. Check out the Aerial Lift Bridge while your in Duluth. Great video👍👍👍👍!
Kinda random, but next time you’re in Missouri, make sure you check out the Bonne Terre Mine! It’s an old mine that is completely flooded out. Each tour has walking parts where you can see old equipment and the main elevator shaft, and a boat tour that takes you around the underground lake! It’s super cool and I know for sure you’d enjoy it. Just food for thought lol
Thank you for making such a great vlog of one of my favorite places! I truly enjoyed seeing how much you guys enjoyed my state. I have lived in Minnesota my whole life and I never get tired of going up there. This video just made me realize how lucky I am to live so close to such beauty :) Ps you have to go to Gooseberry, but here are a few other places I love along the north shore. I also haven't watched your other videos yet so maybe you've already been to a few of these. I'll start with the hike to Caribou Falls. It is a gorgeous big waterfall tucked away in the woods. Also check out Oberg Mt, Carlson Peak, and Lutsen gondola. Especially in the fall, it is stunning! And I gotta add Park Point hike on Minnesota Point, on the other side of the lift bridge in Duluth. It's a beautiful hike starting from either Park Point Beach or the airport and it takes you out onto Minnesota Point. The trail is in the woods but the beach follows you the whole way. The beach is sandy and great for swimming, which is rare on the north shore, and Minnesota Point claims to be the longest freshwater sandbar in the world. There is a breakwater when you get out onto the Point, as well as an abandoned lighthouse along the hike. And I also have to recommend the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness. You can easily rent canoes or kayaks out of Tofte and drive inland to one of the hundreds of lakes in the wilderness. Many of the lakes are in close enough proximity to portage in-between lakes and it is also great for camping. Plus, Minnesota's highest point is in the boundary waters. Eagle Mountain Minnesota's tallest peak at 2,300ft May you have safe travels and amazing views! ❤️
Thanks so much for all those recommendations! We are excited to visit Minnesota again one day. We aren't sure when we'll be back, but we'll definitely look into those. Thanks!
So far I've watched four out of the five MN videos and no mention of our state bird (the mosquito), lol. Usually that is one of the first complaints about this state, that and the humidity. A really great series you have put together. I live here and have yet to see some of these attractions.
We had more issues with spider webs all over the trails than the mosquitos! The humidity didn’t bother us as much as it did in Wisconsin and Michigan, it was extremely muggy there!
@@AdventuresofAplusK I guess it all depends on when you're in the area and what the weather is doing. The humidity seems to teeter back and forth, at least it does down here in the Twin Cities. I hear it can be humid in Michigan. When we were there, it was quite pleasant.
You have to come back in the Fall to this area. End of Sept and first week of Oct are traditionally the best times to see the colors. It varies each year. So check out the MN state Fall colors guide to see when it's best.. As for the black beach. I used to work in the iron ore mines 70 miles from there in the late 70,s early 80s. That is actually called taconite tailings, the residue from when the iron ore pellets are made. They used to get pumped out into the lake as waste product before they were forced to stop that around that time. Now they have found uses for those tailings in construction and also in road repairs. They have value instead of waste.
When you get to Marquette in Michigan, be sure to climb Sugar Loaf Mt. and go out to Presque Isle Park. Park by the breakwater and hike around the perimeter of the park for views of sea cliffs and beautiful shoreline. Marquette is a cool city!

That was a jam packed day!!! Thanks for sharing; it was gorgeous! I’m with you, MN is moving up on my list!!
MN is SO gorgeous! We loved it!
Thank you for your great video and God bless you sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much for loving your wonderful Dog.
Excellent video. Loved those Superior waves. Looking forward as always to your next installment.
We loved those waves!
Great road trip to Minnesota's North Shore. Interesting to watch. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Yes I love this area!! And Betty’s!!
It’s so crazy beautiful!
It is incredible up there! 😍
You two do great in capturing the beauty!
Thank you so much!
You gotta try them! Both were very good and I think we are split on which was our favorite. We hear their layered chocolate pie is amazing too!
Your vlog is a blast! You packed a lot in one day. By the end one could tell you had a long but enjoyable day. Kono must have slept well that night.
It was a very busy day! We were all so pooped!
I'm so happy to see you happy lovely couple🙏 God bless you
Thanks for the support Dora!
You guys had a big day with the hikes, the beach, and Split Rock. Next time you come through the state you need to check out the big open pit iron ore mines around Hibbing.
PS. I think Kona likes Minnesota.
Ooo thanks for the tip! And Kona is OBSESSED with the lake. She seriously whines if she is near it and can’t go in 😂
This was awesome! Reminds me a little bit of Acadia Nat'l Park in Maine!
That makes us extra excited to go there!
I can’t believe how incredible each and everyone of your videos have been. We went to Minnesota’s North shore and even took a day cruise on Lake Superior in this area. We never saw half these places. Not only do you bring us to wonderful spots but you also make us remember the ones we saw.
Thank you so much for the kind words! We are so glad you enjoy the videos ❤️ Lake Superior is a beauty!
So impressed with your video and narration. Very glad I found your take on the north shore. Well done!
Thank you and thanks for watching!
I'm so glad you love our part of the country but don't tell too many people ;). Safe travels you three
It’s beautiful!
Thank you so much for posting these vlogs! I just visited Duluth this weekend and this video and your Canal Park video were perfect for reliving my trip. Your videos are not only fun to watch but also professional in appearance. Subscribed!
Thank you so much Ryan! We really appreciate it!
hope you guys loved it here!! come back soon!
We loved it SO much!
So glad you enjoyed the North Shore!! It is definitely Minnesota's gem! We live in the Twin Cities and get to the North Shore and Duluth at least once a year! Safe travels! 😊
It is such a gem! So wishing it wasn’t so far so we could go more!
I absolutely love the Superior Hiking Trail! I'm planning a through hike September 2022!
That’s amazing! 🙌🏼🙌🏼
@@AdventuresofAplusK Thank you!! I plan on hiking it southbound from the high falls at the Canadian border all the way to Duluth MN!! Roughly 300+ miles! I'm excited!!
Wow! Those waves on Superior were HUGE!!!
We were in awe of them! And constantly thinking, "so glad Jenn and Elliot aren't on this right now" haha
Yes, another great video guys 👍
Thanks John!
Thanks for showing so much nature.
Great video. I'm from Minnesota and absolutely love heading up the North Shore. Lake Superior is so special
You got that right! Thanks and thanks for watching!
I was just up there last weekend. Bear and Bean lake are beautiful with the fall colors.
We bet it's stunning in the fall!
Great video, like always. Love your descriptions and impressions!
Thank you!
There's no place like home (Minnesota)!
You have a beautiful home!
Our trees are a bit stressed this year with heat and drought, so some are turning or dropping leaves already. We are heading to Tofte on Sunday so hoping the smoke is tolerable from the Greenwood fires. We hope to get some biking in! Lovely vids!
The heat has been tough in the Midwest so far! 🥵 We hope y’all get non smoky skies!
We also go to Split Rock each visit. Since we were little and now we are like old. Ha!
The North shore is my happy place! Especially in July/August when it’s hot everywhere else!
What a gem the North Shore is! We are so excited to explore it more one day!
Definitely wouldn’t have thought that you were in Minnesota by the looks of that place. We would love to go there one day.
Right?! It was totally not what we would’ve thought! We loved it!
I am going to North Shore Minnesota for the first time next month truly looking forward to it!
The Great Lakes offer such hidden treasures, don’t they? Your hikes along superior remind of me of some of the lesser known areas along Lake Ontario with the jagged cliffs and crashing waves. I’ve always wanted to see Superior and hope to make it someday. Also: those pies!
SO many treasures! Looking forward to visiting Lake Ontario someday!
Wonderful👍
❤️❤️
Great view of Split Rock. We were just up there at the lighthouse, but I’d love to see it from that viewpoint.
We hope to make it to the lighthouse next time!
The Boundary Waters are definitely on our bucket list! We hope to do it one day! Thanks for watching, Rich!
Now that you've got a taste of Mn north shore, you should try sea kayaking the Apostle Islands sea caves in Wi. You'll need to wait for calm weather though but I promise it will be an adventure to remember!
That’ll be in 2 videos! 😄🙌🏼
Wonderful video! Thanks!
We loved our time in Minnesota! It is such an incredible place! Thank you for those tips! We are excited to visit again one day! Thanks for watching
Hi Al! We really enjoyed Duluth! That video will be out tomorrow and has some tasty food spots!
That sounds so dang cool!!!
@@AdventuresofAplusK thought you guys might like it!
Wow wow wow!!!
😍😍😍
Hey, we did this trip a couple of weeks ago. We loved it too. Including the pie!
So happy you enjoyed your time up there too!
Thank you for making such a great vlog of one of my favorite places! I truly enjoyed seeing how much you guys enjoyed my state. I have lived in Minnesota my whole life and I never get tired of going up there. This video just made me realize how lucky I am to live so close to such beauty :)
Ps you have to go to Gooseberry, but here are a few other places I love along the north shore.
Eagle Mountain Minnesota's tallest peak at 2,300ft
May you have safe travels and amazing views!
@@nomadicnewbie More often than not the air is dry and crisp up there. Add some sunshine and it's really wonderful.
No mosquitos near Superior. None in Duluth, and have nver run into any in Lutsen or Grand Marais. They are super bad in much of Minnesota though.
I have been there I have lived Minnesota my life it is so beautiful there
It’s so beautiful!
Great video!!! Cant wait to see what you think of the UP of Michigan!
It was beautiful up there!
@@AdventuresofAplusK UP?
Yeah, we spent a bit of time up there and loved it. Those videos will be out in a few weeks
Omigosh those pies!!!!😛😱😛😱😛
The third did not surive the night haha
When you get to Marquette in Michigan, be sure to climb Sugar Loaf Mt. and go out to Presque Isle Park. Park by the breakwater and hike around the perimeter of the park for views of sea cliffs and beautiful shoreline. Marquette is a cool city!
We unfortunately couldn’t spend much time in Marquette, but walked around and really enjoyed what we saw!
