Shoulda got the manual version, the automatic should be illegal. If I could afford one I would be happy....but my 98 Nissan Sentra with manual transmission was all I could afford. 😂😅
You're the first group I've seen to talk about the spoiler delete panel. Is that confirmed through testing it just unbolts and leaves no gaps when replacing?
I’m in love with a base model for the first time ever!! I have a 22GT base… but this blows it away when it comes to base… only thing I dislike about it is you need a active exhaust now in order to get quad tips.. maybe I’ll upgrade to this in 2026-27. See how it goes. Still loving my 22GT
make sense as to why today I saw a premium 24 at the dealer but with single tips, that's why I came to RUclips to see wtf and I know why based off this comment. the pile of crap was at listed at 48k. ford has lost its mind
your 22> any 24
I am still loving my 17.. My Gt smells like it just came off the line and I am still under 12,000 Miles, I think I'm at 11,750 or something like that.. I have a Base Manual with a Performance Pack.. Staggered 19" wheels, 255's up front and 275's in the back, but most importantly I have the 373 rear.. And in a manual it matters 355's aren't good enough for a manual but they are great as long as you have an automatic. But honestly even if I had the 10 speed I would still want the 373's.. A lot of People have no idea the difference higher gears make when dig racing...
You're right, it looks like a ipad screen. I prefer the gen 3 digital dash as it sits inside instead of a rectangle screen popping out.
The iPad was one of the selling points for me lol
@@rjimenez1994same. Whole reason I’m going for a 24 in June or July.
That iPad comment is the most annoying in the industry atm…
Not invasive, complete, welcome to the 21st century guys…
Best description of the new Mustang I’ve seen. Great job Bill!
Thank you !
Thanks for showing it Bill. I'm looking forward to seeing what you guys do to it.
Awesome car man , love the vapor blue and the fact you went with the 10 speed . Super excited to see what you do to it in the future .
Very cool Bill can’t wait to see what you and the Cj crew do the the new Mustang. Great video
Thank you!! We did a bunch of stuff already today and more coming!
Looking forward to this build! great video as always
The exterior looks awesome but I’m still a fan of the previous gen dash. I’m not crazy about the new tablet style dash.
I'd always go for the base, but spend the $2,000 extra for the 301A package; 'cause you get a 9 speaker audio upgrade, duel zone auto aircon, 6 way power heated seats including lumbar ! Also the 19" Premier wheels give me a slight LX Fox vibe, so I'd get them too. I'm a Grabber Blue lover, BUT, I have to say that up close that Vapor Blue is epic !!
Why do people get the dual air conditioner? It's a tiny car, how is that one needs dual zones? I also hate power seats. I had them in my 2015 and they just slowed me down. I just want to grab the handles and move the seat. I do love the 19s and think the upgrade stereo is worth getting. I got the Vapor Blue and its cold!
I like that it doesn't give you that annoying warning when you select Track mode like the S550 does every single time. As an S550 owner though, gotta say I really think I'd miss the Mustang-ness missing from the S650 interior-wise.
I really like the s650. Ford is doing their best to price themselves out of the market and the original idea of an affordable pony car. Luckily for them the market is shrinking and is a better car than rest of options Supra, Z. Never a Camaro fan but was the biggest push to keep improving the Mustang.
Thanks for posting. Now that a base Mustang GT is over $ 40k, I think more people will be interested in seeing what features come on a base model
I’m telling the you rn, someone’s gunna make a gloss black filler panel of some sort so that the screens have a more continuous look like on the premium lol
Have you found any that have come out?
I haven't been following the mustang aftermarket lately but I tried searching up something of the sort and nothing came up so far 🤣@@astra7291
I was thinking the exact same thing ha
A simple 3D printed part 😊
Honestly i like the premium dash....lots of people hate the guages and honestly i absolutely love it on this car. Most cars are moving to that style and its the new thing even new semi trucks have thoes guages and such now. I dont like the two screens but i love how you can change the screens to different clusters. Also that makes me wonder if you can update that program to different things in the future because id absolutely love that!
Excellent video, thank you 🔥🔥🔥
Having the old foxbody look on the dash is a nice touch but saying that I hate the led screen dash crap and I also hate the radio sticking up like that, make it streamlined with the dash and it would look so much better
If I had the money for one of these, I'd definitely get the base model with a manual. I don't care that the screens are separated, they still function the same.
I agree you on the ipads. Whether two separate ipads or one combined piece. All look cheap. It's like an unfinished interior when the engineers are still developing all the controls, then all of a sudden the boss told them to get ready launching the product tomorrow. Then, those guys were like, alright we will just glue our computers on the dash, done. At least they gave us a proper steering wheel instead of a xbox controller 😅. Good Job.
@@shenli8321 100% i hope my s550 lasts forever.
@@shenli8321 not all tablets are iPads 🥲
But yeah not being integrated makes it look cheap. Even Subaru managed to integrate their screen.
@@OEMPlus Take care of that baby and she'll last as long as you need her to ❤️
Lol mt82
You don't need all the bells and whistles you've got the power and the look's
I just bought my Base 2024 GT with a manual transmission and I love it! I think people rag on the dual screens too much, as the "single" screen has dead space between where the two screens meet in the premium. My base came with the active exhaust, which was not on my wish list, but its cool. This is my daily driver, so I don't need the performance package or anything too fancy. I just want that V8 power, a radio and Apple Play. I love all the Easter eggs and the overall look of this vehicle. I had a loaded 2015 which I loved, but most of the stuff it came with was of no use to me. I intend to have a long term love affair with "Bella" my plain Jane superstar pony girl!
Just picked up my base with a 6 speed manual. It's awesome.
Great Review !
Nice choice Bill and great presentation. Does that base model have shocks, springs or magneRide. I was surprised the base model comes with front Brembo calipers and brakes, along with the various track drive modes that normally was previously only available with the GT Premium package. Those who do track days and autocross would consider this lighter model. Looking forward to seeing how CJ Pony builds this wicked 2024 base model.
It has a standard suspension, no magneride. I agree I was surprised at all the features it has.
The removal trunk lid panel is a nice feature. What are the future plans ?
I usually buy the premium but I upgrade the suspension all around and I really don't use the extra comforts. You may have a good point.
At least you get a usable screen with this base model lol i remember my old 19 had that tiny useless screen 😂
Miss that car. Hopefully sometime next year i can get on of these. Wasn't a fan of the interior but its grown on me a little.
I bought a base 2015 GT with pp the only option. What an incredibly good choice… six speed st., cloth seats… still had everything I needed… had a BLAST … 42k in Canada… everyone was paying 10-15k for leather seats and toggle switches! 😢 My opinion… had a 69 Mach 1 … 351 Cleveland with a three speed st. … it’s not about options…
the base GT 24 is up 10Gs over the first S550s but I would prefer gauges over the screens no matter what model
The upgrade base has all the features my 22 upgrade premium had except leather seats for the same price.
I'm sorry, but I personally HATE the screens, maybe if they were flush with the dash it wouldn't look as bad. Really wish they had an option for mechanical gauges as well, I think the touch screen will be more of a headache years down the road. The front grill of the car almost looks like they took the S550 GT-500, and turned the grille upside down and went with that. Honestly not a huge fan of it. But that's just my opinion.
A lot of people agree with you on that, the screens look very added on with the split design. Would be nice to see it more integrated.
I wasn't too keen on the exterior design at first sight, but it looks OK I guess.
The dash is a modern version of a 91 Lincoln LSC I like it. I'm a Lincoln's guy to
He said everyone loves the FOX body gauges…. I DON’T! Will never have that on my display
Ok everybody but you :). It’s a nostalgia thing that’s cool at first. After driving around with it for a day I switched to the track mode screen.
@@cjponyparts I don't see anything wrong with it and reminds me so much of the 80's. Thank you for that detailed presentation.
Very informative video. Get that car a front splitter and a deck lid spoiler stat!!! 😁
I just got one yesterday and was pricing the spoiler sucks it's not even available on backorder even the front I can get 1 part but you need 2 and the 2nd one not available. I was asking before I let the lot. Hopefully soon someone will come out with an aftermarket asap. But got the car for my wife. I was shocked that she traded her 2020 gt pp2 for a 2024 gt base, but she loves it . Me I would of never done that
We did come right home, and I put her gt 350 rims on it, and it changed the look way better now
If I’m getting the 5.0, has to be the premium. Planning on upgrading sometime within the next 6 months.
If I finally replace my 2018 GT that got totaled, its probably going to be another S550 or S197. I have THREE tuners laying around, and I'd like to use at least one of them. Its VERY likely that the new Mustang will require the PCM to be sent somewhere to be unlocked, just like with the 2021+ F150.
between the brakes and the torsen diff the performance pack is more than worth it. i feel the torsen diff every turn i make. its flawless.
Used be $2500 now $5000 nothing changed 😂
@@FATmenDRIVEtrucks gt500 irs and brakes is nothing?
The exterior is growing on me but I cannot get passed the interior. Im not even talking about the screens. Its just a huge step back from the S550. Id gladly upgrade to a 22 Mach 1 over a Darkhouse even if they were the same price.
Looks great. I’ll get one after I get a few more years outta mine
Just got one. In Canada.
Base GT 48,000$.
Rapid Red 600$.
GT performance package 6500$.
Active exhaust 1500$.
Red calipers 600$.
Comes up to 60,000$ before taxes.
Iove it!
Awesome!
Saw the car in person today at the dealership for the first time on the showroom floor. It didn’t like the back didn’t like the front got inside. It felt nice it looked nice. But for $50,000 we want more than just look nice that I dream about it when I left there. No I got in my 2019 Mustang performance package one that has been perfectly modified for me and didn’t even think about the new mustang.
They really should have used last year's Digital dashboard option for standard instead of those two panels, they look terrible..
Exactly looking terrible
Couldn't agree more, those i- pads are horrible & in a MUSTANG 😂 not cool !!!
Mustang and affordable left the chat. I'm starting to look at BMW and Audi for 60k range. A loaded Mustang GT I built is 62k and it still needs wheels and a few other things. 65k- ish when you factor in that.
Fox body gauge cluster is such a weird selling point 😂 Now if it had variations of different years, that would be cool.
Edit- It does look like a great car for the money. Definitely makes my S197 look like a pioneer wagon with those screens.
I believe you can get the ‘67 gauges as well
I have the same mustang base 5.0 with the only option is the active exhaust. I had a 16 premium and a 19 301A with the performance pack and the 24 base personal is better car to daily inside and out and best for mods Down the road
I have power cloth seats and I love them.. They are so soft and comfortable.. If you have ever sat in Recaro's you will get the difference. The Recaro's wrap around you better but after sitting on them for an hour you will want your Base seats back.. Seriously..
I have a Nissan with heated leather and My GT with it's cloth feel better to me.. To each his own though.. I raced a 2024 manual the other day with my manual 2017 and he beat me but not by much.. The Gen 4's make like 50 more HP but they weigh like 250 more lb's, so I was right on his door basically side by side.. But I have no problem admitting the 10 speeds are nasty from a 20 roll and up.. I have out dug a couple 10 speeds that I have raced but they quickly reel me but honestly if I all I cared about was dig stuff I would rather have the 6R auto its far more robust than the 10 speed....
Always stand in front of the car so that we can see you and the view of the car is obstructed!
Love it strictly Mustang man.
Those ipads are the thing I hate the most on the new mustang, even the one combined piece. Feels really cheap.
I just got in one (GT Premium Model) literally the other day & it’s absolutely stunning 🤩
I just bought a 2024 gt base with 301a package and midnite pony. But I don’t have the exhaust options as shown in the video. At least I don’t think so?
Yes!!! Less options, less weight!!!
So I ordered one and I forgot to add the sound system exhaust will it still come with it????? Cuz if it doesn’t wow lol
With that spoiler delete option are the mounting holes the same as s550? Could i put a pp1 spoiler from 2020 s550 gt on this new s6550 direct bokt in with no drilling?
Lookin at a base model 2024 5.0 for 39k brand new… I jus can’t get over the gap between the gauge cluster screen and the infotainment screen. Idk why they didn’t make it the same as the premiums.
This is the exact one I ordered
Good luck with it!
@@cjponyparts I didn’t get the spoiler delete and eventually want to get a performance wing. How difficult will that be removing the decklid spoiler?
Do you know if 2023 s550 wheels will fit the 2024 s650? Thanks
Does the base model have the remote rev feature?
This brakes are stock or come with performance package?
I HATE the screens! Give me buttons and gauges! No chance those last the test of time...either.
Awesome color, not a fan of the split screen. Does the base model actually have Brembo?
Only on the front.
Yea the fronts are smaller Brembos.
Brembos are now a stand alone option as well and can be ordered without the performance package.
Then the factory base gt wing is glued on the spoiler delete panel?
As an older guy with early Mustangs, those screens are definitely a no-go for me. Not only are they ridiculously distracting (and ugly), I know that WHEN they break, which they will, it will cost hundreds to reboot or thousands to replace. (Although, pre-collision is a nice feature so I can issue forth a Fright Night shriek just before I get mowed down by Psycho Clown in a rusty Kenworth). I like the seats and paint color, but I pass on the rest of it.
If Ford wants to sell to older dudes with disposable income, they need to release a Mustang Classic with analog gauges sunk into the dash (where they belong) and knobs and levers to control things so the blank screens don't strand you on the side of the road waiting for New Age thugs to beat you into a bubbling mass of pavement-hugger.
everything you said and the shitty manual from china.
When are we gonna see the underneath and what the suspension looks like?
Basically it’s the same except some small changes on the Brembo cars. We will have a video out soon.
best mustang ever
What's take on the MT-82 manual transmission for 2024? Is it worth taking a chance? Thanks
I had one in my 2015 and now this one in the 24 and I've honestly never had a problem with it there is no chance just use it how it was designed to be used.
Are those tires all season?
Hmm the screen thing is so goofy they might as well have just had the base with the same combined screen LOL.
Yes that would I order but mine if yellow and 6 speed manual and got have the active exhaust
The base cars are ALWAYS best. Why? Less to go wrong and less weight when going fast, braking and handling.
One question supercharge or turbocharge?
So does this mean there is no longer a v6 ???
Are those really base model wheels? Thougt the were gray not black.
Why didn't the base come with the 6speed manual transmission as standard and why no analog instrument cluster
All 2024s have digital cluster. This would come with a 6 speed, we got the 10 speed as an option.
No point in getting the active if you change out the exhaust though right?
I wouldn’t think so. I’d say, if you really want to change out exhausts and play around with different setups, don’t bother with factory active.
My thoughts before you said it looks like a couple iPad screes left up there, like a back yard mechanics were working on it or something. Unfinished cheap looking dash with those screens. I really really want to like it but what the heck?? Maybe that’s the selling point throw it it together supper cheesy then make it better next time instead of performance focused??
It’s a shame since the screens have so much info and I don’t mine them behind the wheel. A couple bezels around them to connect to the dash could do wonders.
I'm sold on the base model. Now, I can save money. Just give me a performance pack and that's all.
Why does window sticker say 480 hp when have active exhaust ?
Doo you have the 301a I need to know cuz I want the cheapest car with drag mode I thought premium only came with drive modes
This has all the drive modes
@@cjponyparts yes but is it actually a base car is it 301A?
How much is that cargo for stick shift
Base model would be lighter I think and I would get that With the performancepack
I’ll grab a used 23 … those screens are the deal breaker
So the base model still does come with active exhaust?
It only comes in automatic?
The front bumper is so ugly with that gloss black lipstick. The two ipads on the dash look weird, too. I have a 2015 base gt, and i got power seats, so those manual seats are also pretty disappointing, especially for the price.
Personally I have had so many power seats break I prefer the manual, I hear you on the other stuff though. We have some plans for the front.
This is my third GT, having bought the 25th year anniversary model in 1989. I also had 2015 special 50th year anniversary edition, so it was loaded. I don't really care for power seats as I just want to grab and go. I don't mind the dual screens because I pay more attention to the stuff on the screens, but I can see where the novelty of the screens can be off-putting. I love this car and am very happy I threw down and returned to the Mustang Family. BTW, who doesn't love all the Easter eggs found throughout the vehicle?
Damn base is 41K now? I bought my 2016 GT premium performance package for $40k out the door.
Probably comes with the 3.31 rear end. But I am sure its got a ton of horsepower
3.15
@@cjponypartshow’s the acceleration since it’s more geared towards fuel efficiency?
You can option it with 3.55 for no cost
@@cjponyparts My bad. I should know that, its what my 2015 has
Sad this guy is gone… he literally is what made this channel. Without him it’s gonna crash and burn.
The base two separate pad setup looks crappy. All models should have the 2 in 1 unit, and integrate it so it doesn't look slapped on! And how long will it last before it needs replacement? Not a fan of the new dash. The rest of the car looks alright. I haven't seen one in person yet.
Premium. If it's a DD, go Premium, you get all the things that make those chill drives enjoyable.
Personally I don't see what all the fastest about regarding the fox body instruments
Just a novelty like the remote rev.
💪🏻
Its not a single screen its just two screens under a contiguous bezel and glass i did prefer the s550 interior a classic in design.. I had an s550 with a few mor option packages the s650 is better in performance from the showroom floor in every way.
I don’t mind the screens, it’s the outside and under the hood I care about.
I'm not a fan of the instrument clusters on any of the trims. All Ford had to do was make a mold so that it blends in with the rest of the interior, like a typical car's interior. It pops out the most on the base model but even the premium trim's instrument screens look out of place. Digital screens are awesome, but they need to look like they are a part of the car's interior, honestly.
100% agree. Screens are nice but they need to be designed into the dash a little better.
The single screen in the premium and the dual screens look so hideous. Very tacky.
Stick?
Does it have the chatter at 2500 RPMs?
Nope, no chatter on ours.
At least low-mid $40's still makes sense for a Mustang and it looks sharp. I'm not sure how some people justify shelling out $60K+ for loaded GTs or into the $70Ks for Dark Horse. Paying $60K+ for just a GT would be embarrassing.
Prices have definitely come down under msrp
Just need some 5% tint on that thing.......
I miss the sound!?
We will have a video shortly comparing the different factory systems with some aftermarket options.
