!! And on my way to home depot for paint. I am inspired!! I love this piece!! I am doing three 16×24 paintings, doing different techniques with the same colors. 1 for me and 1 for 2 friends. Whoever lives longest gets all three and a story to tell.... I'm excited 😁 about it!
@@markallen2466 I'm so happy you're doing better. You've been kind of quiet for a while now. I'd love to see your paintings when you get them done. It will be interesting to see how the colors blend using different techniques. I'm sure your friends will be happy.
I love your clouds. They are the best I’ve seen. How do you do your mix for pearls. I have been having trouble making pearls and I need a suggestion on what I need to change in my mix. Thanks for all your help. I watch all of your tutorials.🥰
Wow! The price for a quart here is $15.96. It used to be $13.50, but that was few years ago. I pay $32 for a gallon now , which is a much better deal. But, you might not need to buy that much. I use quite a bit 😆
Wowwwwww....so gorgeous! I've played with the DecoArt satin enamel, and have just miserably failed too many times to count. I'm going to try yours! Would you say that the GAC800 is close to one part? I'm excited to give it a shot!
Peggy Carreno Could you use Artist Loft Flow acrylic white instead of Velojo(?)I am new at this. Also can you pour cloud as a pillow instead of cup with colors? Thanks for sharing!!
Hi Peggy. Yes you can use Artist Loft flow acrylic white instead . That's what I used to use when I first started experimenting with Behr satin enamel and the cloud effect mix. It works good also.
So pretty Tracie, love the colors. It seems like the recipe is very similar to the pearl pour. Some experiment with Behr SE instead of Deco Art because it's hard to get. I guess it is because you didn't stretch the crap out of it, it didn't pearl. Just a theory. Will try this. What is the number on the top below the words ultra white? Mine is 7050. I have a blue band also. Thank you for sharing your videos. Hugs from NE Tennessee.
Thank you 🤗. I have been using Behr satin enamel for about two years now, but with Artist loft flow acrylic white. On a whim I substituted it with Vallejo pearl medium and I got awesome results. If the recipe is thinned more, then the pearl cells will develop. I've been testing that as well. The number on my can is 7050 as well. I'm happy you enjoy my videos. I like to share everything I've learned. Have a great day!
I received my Vallejo pearl medium can’t wait to try it out as I do struggle with that darn cloud pour… This is SO beautiful,,, thank you so much for your time and knowledge 🧚
It is totally gorgeous. I love your recipe 🥰 Getting your canvas levelers in a day or so. I’m going to use them for a larger resin piece. Has to be exact. So excited, thanks 🤓
@@TracieReed I got them! Covered them in press n seal. Now I have to set up a tent to resin in. There’s no where safe from animal hair in or around my home ;)
Hi Teri. The only other one I tried was Pearlessence from Creative Inspirations. It did not work. I would recommend using distilled or filtered water if you have hard water.
HI I've been watching your videos out of of order but was wondering if the addition of the pearl medium was after this video or before and you decided not to use it anymore? Love your videos by the way.
Thank you Stephanie! I have two recipes for my cloud mix. This was my second one. My original recipe was Behr satin enamel and Artist loft. I decided to try Vallejo pearl medium on a whim and it worked awesome. So this video was after I had done a few paintings using that recipe.
I love this recipe! However if I were to use Deco Art satin enamel with your recipe, would I add the same amount of satin enamel as you are with the Behr? I just ordered some valejo pearl med.
Loved how it looked wet, dry it looked like it had some cracks? It's kind of hard to find the right materials here in the Netherlands as your paint is so different as is the floetrol.
Yes it will. I actually have more than one cloud mix recipe. The other one I use is 2 parts Artist Loft Flow Acrylic White, 1 part Behr Satin enamel, 2 parts Floetrol and a few drops of water. It works well. I just find that adding the GAC800 helps the mix from separating when it dries.
I haven't found another pearl medium that works as god as Vallejo. However, I have used Artist loft Soft body Titanium white in an old recipe that works good.
Thank you Nan. I tend to use a ratio of 1 part paint to 2-3 parts pouring medium. But it really depends on the type of paint and brand and also the technique. If you use a thinner craft paint you won't need as much pouring medium compared to a medium or hard bodied paint, which will require more. My suggestion is to start with a ratio of 1:1 and go from there. Also, everyone is different, so it's fun to experiment to find what ratios work for you ☺️ 🤗

We are unable to buy GAC 800 in Australia, I can maybe get the Vallejo from Jackson’s art, so what else can I use instead of the gac 800
I haven't used anything else yet. But, you could try a professional pouring medium like Liquitex. I'm not sure what brands are available in Australia.
Loved how it looked wet, dry it looked like it had some cracks? It's kind of hard to find the right materials here in the Netherlands as your paint is so different as is the floetrol.
Thank you. No cracks. Only a small spot where the darker blue shows through a bit.
Hey Tracie, is there a discount code for Blick? They kill ya on shipping! TY

Use code CFFH for free shipping on orders of $59 or more.

Is there any substitute for the Vallejo Pearl Medium?
I haven't found another pearl medium that works as god as Vallejo. However, I have used Artist loft Soft body Titanium white in an old recipe that works good.
@@TracieReed Thank you so much!
What is your paint to medium ratio? I love this but you already know that 🥰
Thank you Nan. I tend to use a ratio of 1 part paint to 2-3 parts pouring medium. But it really depends on the type of paint and brand and also the technique.
