Did you check out my collab with Lisa from Harmony House Art? They turned out awesome! -> Acrylic Pouring Collab! ruclips.net/video/e_VHbr7borE/видео.html
I said this of one of Saskia Smit's paintings recently.... (And it's meant in the best possible way.) Your painting reminds me of like if you're walking through a parking lot after its rained, and there's water that's intermingled with oil. It leaves a beautiful iridescent sheen on the water. That's what the painting reminds me of. It's very, very pretty. I love how you did the triptych in one painting, and I think the embellishment was perfect. Great job, girl! ❤ 😊
Very cool creative idea Tracie !! I think it looked amazing even just with the white trim then the black & glitter really gave it some pizazz !!! Beautifully done !! Congrats on an amazing piece !!!! 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳😜😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘😘
@@TracieReed the other way to do this is by doing one solid piece if a pour and than adding the masking tape after its dried and putting the tape like a border and than painting it black.
Thank you Barbara! I wrestled with what color to paint the frame part. I thought white at first, then dark blue. I decided black would make it stand out the best, especially with all the gold. 😊
@@TracieReed I literally just watched the collab video and came back to make sure I pressed the like button on this video and you’d already replied😲 wowza
love love love the color scheme. Looks like a space view of the ocean. Is it critical to use both the Liquid medium AND the Floetrol when pouring acrylics?
How clever and beautiful...I love it!!! Will have to give it a try and (if I can pull it off,) give you a shout out for the inspiration!!! You go girl! 😜❤️😊🙏😍
I love this. Great video. I am confused on the tape part...With you going ahead and painting in a black border :~) how would it work if you drew guidelines on with a pencil or white Stabilo, then you would not need to tape off. It makes a great guideline but .. ugh I keep rewriting this post as i do not want to offend and I keep changing how I try to say things. you still get a High five. I love the colors!!!! Can't wait to see your reaction when you resin something for the first time. Game changer!!! I will add I am so impressed you use regular masking tape and not a painters grade. Dedication and patience you have!
Thanks Trish. I think that if you don't use tape, it will be harder to pull the paint off the canvas. Just my opinion. And I have tried painters tape several times and have been let down every time. Using masking tape and a heat gun works best, for me anyway. As far as resin goes, I have used it many times and don't particularly care for it on all canvas paintings. I like to see texture and I don't get that with resin. I also think resin actually takes away from a painting sometimes. Too much shine. But, you can get that with a varnish that is too shiny as well. I use resin if I'm making coasters but that's really it. I also don't really like the health risks associated with using resin. I do have all the protective gear but still get sick every time I use it. So, not worth it in my opinion. Anyway, I'm not offended at all by your comment. I appreciate you taking the time to leave me one. Have a great day! 😊
@@TracieReed I am thrilled you have tried resin. Still confused... You do not need to peel off tape nor do you need to peel off paint - you literally just paint black stripes over the paint
Wow, I love those colours Tracy! And such a great idea the black and gold framing! I will definitely try this at some point, thank you for the video :D
Thank you Debbie. For this painting I used Winsor&Newton Professional gloss spray varnish because of the texture of glitter glue. I also use Liquitex varnish as well.
Thank you. I used 2 coats of Windsor & Newton Professional gloss varnish. I might put on coat of Liquitex satin or gloss varnish on it. I can't decide if it's too shiny. I think the satin might tone it down a bit. I haven't decided yet.

When used the heat gun, and when ready to remove the tape, did it leave a sticky residue on the canvas? This is gorgeous!

Varnish was put on the whole painting (edges glue etc.)? Sorry for all the questions🤗
