I love owls. I love bears. Owlbears are right up my alley! I even have the Owlbear Diceling. Makes me want to get this figure but i couldn't find him on eBay.
Let me clarify this: the mutants were fuzors at one point, but were captured by Megatron and used as test subjects for his transformation-lock virus. They survived but they lost their robot modes. They could transform into each of the animals composing their fuzor forms and deploy their robot heads as a side effect.
@Nickster891 In one animal mode, the Mutants have a hidden robot head, so they're technically part-robot. The toys were actually Animorph toys that were repurposed as Transformer toys when the Animorph toy line was cancelled
You know I think I just found a way to give Icebird a robot mode. Put down the polar bear back legs. Fold out the mutant head. Move the front legs in place to simulate arms. If possible found polar bear head into chest. And boom there's a bot mode for Icebird.
I really love that toy. It's pretty damn clever. I can even manage a "robot mode" by standing the bear up, swapping the heads, and turn the claws in bird mode. It's a great winter themed toy.
Why does everyone think savage noble is a mutant? Sure, he has two beast modes, but he lacks the mutant insignia and is completely organic (whereas the mutants have robot parts but no robot mode) .
I am glad you are doing the odder transformer figures . Pretty decent figure, tho I think the Bear mode would probably have made a better badger or wolverine mode and then this could have been a Barn Owl instead...but pretty kool. Thumbs up
actualy, ALL of the mutants have robot mode heads and chest panels, and your supposed to make up a robot mode using the beast mode parts, and of course including the robot mode head and chest
@Nickster891 "Beast Changer" was the name Noble's toy was released under, since Hasbro couldn't get the rights to the name "Savage Noble" (or "Noble Savage" or whatever)..
I was waiting to see why the polar bear needed gargantuan foreclaws, thinking it was a trade off from the owl form but no, the owl form just has giant feet too! Bit of a design flaw either way.
The polar bear actual looks more like an Arctodus or better known as The Giant Short Face Bear an extinct species that was one and still is consider the largest bear species and the largest land mammalian carnivore in the world
The owl does look better than the bear... they show up in the Universe: Wreckers comics and are presumably killed by Sharkticons but Poisonbite shows up later.... suggesting they survived... and ya they are in the IDW Beast Wars: The Gathering
@Nickster891 Yeah, that's the name that toy was sold under, likely because of trademark issues around the names or something. AS for the order, I chose it based on his/their debut episode name, and the fact that we see Savage first.
hearing you say "i dont know of any real ___ that have ___," in this and the sound wave video, is by far the most annoying and pretentious thing ive ever heard, they're literally transforming robot MUTANTS .
These mutants are not mutants they are a animal inside of a freaking animal It really is STUUUUUUPID!!!!!!!!! Why did they even make these toys other than to get confused and frustrated. They really do need a third Transformation , like from polar bear to the ice bird to like a cool looking robot that has a cannon In its arm and the sword would be inside of the wrist. Just like in Asassins Creed Unity.
A polar bear that turns into an owl, honestly I'd buy it for the creativity alone
I love owls.

Sources? Because we never got mutants introduced in beast wars only beastmachines
does that mean Icebird was the least effected since you can get a robot mode out of him

That's actually a very clever idea

This one of my 'Christmas transformers' I dig out every year for display...he's great
The owl mode looks better than the polar bear mode. An interesting figure to be sure. Thanks for the look.
this one is pretty cool, too. i love polar bears and owls.
I am glad you are doing the odder transformer figures . Pretty decent figure, tho I think the Bear mode would probably have made a better badger or wolverine mode and then this could have been a Barn Owl instead...but pretty kool. Thumbs up
I'd like this guy to bring my Hogwarts mail
actualy, ALL of the mutants have robot mode heads and chest panels, and your supposed to make up a robot mode using the beast mode parts, and of course including the robot mode head and chest
Loved this toy as a kid, wish i still had it

Icebird reminds me of the Owlbear from D&D.
I’m guessing one was inspiration for the other.
(I could be wrong, I’ve never played D&D)
@@TheRisingStorm316 True that.
I was waiting to see why the polar bear needed gargantuan foreclaws, thinking it was a trade off from the owl form but no, the owl form just has giant feet too!
Bit of a design flaw either way.
of all the mutants this is the one I've been tempted to buy the most.
I would of liked to see this in the show a Big Bear becoming a small Owl
The polar bear actual looks more like an Arctodus or better known as The Giant Short Face Bear an extinct species that was one and still is consider the largest bear species and the largest land mammalian carnivore in the world

He is the leader of the Mutants.
I used to LOVE this thing.
It's an albino mole badger from the Avatar(not James Cameron) Universe
Rizzy Khaos i thing you mean badger mole
EnderBorn By jove, you're right!
1:36 "I believe I can fly..."
hey why dont you try to figure out robot modes for the mutants?
Noble is kinda of mutant, I know he was Megatron other half but he changes into two Beast modes so its very similar.
I feel like if they ever come back I think they would be triple changers or just one alt mode
The polar bear mode look like it's trying to give birth to an oversized owl.
When you're done with the Mutants, have you done a review of Savage/Noble aka "Beast Changer"?
yeah, because polarclaw had a realistic bear mode, or his repaints (barbearian - survive)
XP
I like the whole "two beast, no robot mode" concept
@Nickster891 Yeah, that's the name that toy was sold under, likely because of trademark issues around the names or something. AS for the order, I chose it based on his/their debut episode name, and the fact that we see Savage first.
Looks like beast wars transmetal 2 prowl (owl) had a baby with polarclaw(polar bear) from beast wars itll be these guys love child
Love it!
I think i had a nightmare like this once.
whats the point of having a head if theres no robot mode?
Was Nobel released in this line
where did you get the rotating table from?
his bear mode is a polar sloth 😆
When transformers made an owlbear before the movie did
id say the mutant line of beast wars figures were inbred...
The bird form is a snowy owl.
its funny cuz polar bear mode is taking a dump xD
@SuperZman85 the mutants did appear in the beast machines commic though
I used to like polar bears, but for Primus' sake WHAT THE HECK DID I JUST SEE?!?!?!?!?!?!
razorclaws wolverine mode is like his deformed brother XD
So ice bird, poision bite, the green guy that i forgot , and one other guys i forgot also 😬
Razor claw the raptor/badger and soundwave the crocodile or alligator/ bat.
they do have giant freakin claws
Very funny Mutant - Icebirdy - funny What does crap look like?
looked like a yeti
I'm sure this has been brought up, but the Mutants were in the Beast WARS line, not the Beast Machines line.
Owlbear
I guess it just to imply these guys used to be robot....
well owlbears are a thing elsewhere.
Grizzly bear become snowy owl

I REsubbed...
Are you blind? ,it's beast wars!
hearing you say "i dont know of any real ___ that have ___," in this and the sound wave video, is by far the most annoying and pretentious thing ive ever heard, they're literally transforming robot MUTANTS .

GrayedArt what’s the matter with ya just leave the dude alone
