The fundraiser is being launched by Jessica Wahl, who spearheaded our cataloging efforts of the vault, and found Edmund's urn in March 2023.
We're amazed, humbled, and eternally grateful that we surpassed our fundraising goal in just one day! The fundraiser remains active, and we will continue to accept donations. Funds raised beyond the initial fundraising goal will give us more and better options for the size and location of Edmund's niche at Hollywood Forever Cemetery, and will also help cover additional costs associated with the transaction, including fees. Memorial and inurnment ceremony for Edmund Gwenn will be held Sunday December 3rd at 1pm at Hollywood Forever (Cathedral Mausoleum). All are invited to attend.

Me too. I was in tears when he was finally found.
So did I. It really sticks in my craw when an actor is just forgotten by their family when they die. I checked around online, and he supposedly was worth anywhere between 1-5 million when he passed, so it’s not like they couldn’t afford it.
I love that within 48 hours, the goal has been reached! This community is amazing! 🎅

He was always endearing character to watch in his performances. Wether it be Santa or a Captain in Alfred Hitchcock’s Movie “ The Trouble with Harry” you couldn’t help but really like the Man he was Lovable. I’m really happy he is to be in Light for all to see and pay our respects to for all he shared with us in Film! Thanks to you Arthur and to Jessica for doing this for him and his Family! Edmund, since you are currently doing a fundraiser for Edmund Gwenn's Niche. Christmas 2023 would be the perfect opportunity for a new Christmas Edition of Hollywood Graveyard. Loved those two videos a few years back.
I remember hearing, a long long time ago, that Mr. Gwenn’s last words were, “Dying is easy, comedy is hard”.
I don’t know if it’s true or my memory fails me. But I thought it a most profound statement. Leaving me with the feeling that there was much more to this man than the world knew.
Thank you for giving Edmund the rest that he finally deserves and can finally rest in peace knowing that fans can now come visit him! Cheers for you!

I don't know if you understand how much your videos mean to some people but I have to give you a long overdue thank you. This particular video made me realize that, through these videos, I can feel as though I am honoring some of my favorite entertainers of all time.
I'll be watching for the re-internment of this Hollywood icon as, due to physical inability, it will be my best chance to personally say thank you to Edmund Gwenn for being such a large part of my childhood.
I was just six months and four days old when he passed but his movies (especially "Miracle on 34th Street" and "Them" [don't ask ]😆) have been favorites since I was old enough to understand what movies were. Thank you again for giving us this wonderful opportunity to honor them with you in remembrance 🤗.

Please Livestream his ceremony of his arrival to Hollywood Forever when it's time since Helen Chandler's ceremony was not livestreamed. It will mean a lot to fans of Miracle On 34th Street like myself and for those that live outside of the US like myself. Cheers! 20th Century Studios, who made and distributed the film, should be made aware of this extraordinary effort. THEY should be contributing too, as the movie has had an enduring effect for their bottom line all these years, the way it’s had an enduring effect for all its fans. I believe Disney now owns the rights to the film, acquired when it bought 20th Century Fox's media assets in 2017 and subsequently renamed the subsidiary as 20th Century Studios. A multi-billion dollar corporation such as Disney should certainly front the entire cost for the niche.
