Another thing that is unusual in this video: me saying "I'll haunt you for the rest of 'my' life," instead of 'your' life. Very strange....
I caught that!! It's because some people believe they don't die, but become immortal beings in spirit bodies, which is not false. There is only one way of course to live on for eternity. Blessed are those that believe in the true way to immortality.
@@faith4grace889 We are already eternal. You don't have to jump through any hoops, it's already so.

Thomas Hardy's grave said he was 88 years old.?
I remember hearing that the body snatchers had kept Chaplin's head and demanded a ransom. The family, much to their credit, responded with "keep it".
I heard this too and started to laugh😂😂😂😂. If that's not my family then I'll disown them😅
😂
If him and Caitlin Doughty (Ask a Mortician) ever did a collab my little heart would explode lol
Sameeee
That would be utterly fabulous!

OOOOOOO!!!!😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
Someone PLEASE make this so!
Seriously!!
9:05 Just a note for those who may not know: at that time, cremation was indeed forbidden to Catholics. The reason is that Catholics do not believe that the discarded corpse is trash after the soul departs, but an integral part of the human being that should be treated with dignity and respect.
Today, cremation IS allowed to Catholics-- however, the cremains must be honored with funeral rites, and interred somewhere appropriate: for example, in a cemetery, mausoleum, or in a special container heavy enough for burial at sea.
In order to show respect for the dignity of each human person and for the human body,
Catholics are not supposed to scatter cremains, or keep them in their home (because they might eventually be accidentally or deliberately tossed into the trash, or treated irreverently after falling into the hands of someone who does not have respect for them, or even know what they are.)
Side side note: the empty crypt with his information on it, is now what is called a Cenotaph...that is, a monument to the memory of someone who is interred elsewhere (or whose body has been lost.)
Still not an option where I live in Malta
I visited Victor Noir's grave on my last trip to Paris. One of the fun ones there. I saw Chopin's grave, but did not realize that about his heart. I can't wait to go back to Paris and visit Josephine Baker's grave at the Pantheon. She's been granted status to be buried there.
Mr Dark, you should have a podcast or an app that we could listen to, just for your voice. It’s beautiful, and thank you. 🙏
AGREE
Not that it is a podcast but he dod record a "sleep story" for Calm it's called Nifty about a ghost.
Love his beautiful voice
He is a handsome and sexy man. The voice is icing on the cake.
Absolutely. Mr. dark, you could read the phonebook and I would be enthralled
Your productions are so well constructed they feel like a premium cable television program.
They do indeed!!!! 😁
IKR?
I could not agree more ! They all have a polished professional look to them. This series of videos would make a great cable show, such as on the History Channel.
It's definitely well written
I agree 100%.
Fun fact: Charlie Chaplin’s granddaughter, named Oona Chaplin, after her grandma, was on Game of Thrones. Playing Robb Shark’s pregnant wife, who is killed (along with everyone else) at the Red Wedding.
She"s a pretty girl. But her grandmother was rumored to be, as well.
Pity Chaplin was like Di Caprio and liked them young --as in m¡₪¤Г$
The part with Anton Yelchin gave me chills. I have to visit his grave someday. I loved him as Pavel Chekov in the 2009 Star Trek movie. I was sad when I heard the news of his passing. He was the same age as me.
Yeah. It really gave me chills. Still so tragic...
If you are a fan of Anton Yelchin, check out the movie Rudderless.
@@JoeyBagOfBagels99 I'll have to check it out. Is it on streaming?
He played his parts (acting) well.
Ikr. He was such a sweet human. One of the rare times a celebrity death actually got to me
This could easily be a TV show.
So well constructed and filmed.
well, they should, after all, 99% are about entertainers ~
.....and cheesy
He should go to London next but whatever he go for his next hollywood graveyard tour I'll be happy with it
Television hasn't got long to go before it will end up in a plot of its own on Hollywood Graveyard.
@@PerryCJamesUK cable will be going to the hollywood graveyard, but not television itself. cable is not watched at all anymore, so yeah, television is superior
Welcome back. Fun Fact: The movie "Weekend at Bernies" was based on the story of the deceased John Barrymore having a party with his homies

You, dear Arthur, are the Rod Serling of RUclips. Every time I get a notification about a new Hollywood Graveyard, I make myself comfortable, get a drink and watch it on the app on my TV. You are worthy of the big screen 😉. This was one of your finest episodes so far and I eagerly anticipate what's next. Thank you for the segment on Neptune's Reef. When my time comes, I wish to be cremated and buried at sea. I had completely forgotten about Neptune's Reef and immediately sent away for the information. I'm not planning to go anywhere anytime soon but I have more years in the rear view mirror than I do in the windshield and one must be practical about these things. 😁 Looking forward with great anticipation to your next masterpiece. ❤
Anton Yelchin gets me every damn time 😭 he was amazing, gone way too soon. All my best to his beloved parents 🙏
Every time I see his grave it makes me sad too 😢
Absolutely tragic.Sincere condolences to his family.🌷🇬🇧
When the "Rest in peices" segment started I was immediately reminded of a line from the show "Allo, Allo" as said by Herr Flick (of the Gestapo") to his sidekick "Von smallhousen"
"Here is the Gestapo defusing-explosives handbook. It is by the late Professor von Flattenhead, who, as you will know, is buried in Munich, and Hamburg, and Bremen."
Ha, ha ! :)

@ba55bar "vis ze little swastikas"🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍
The John Barrymore story makes me laugh in a morbid kinda way 🤣I couldn't imagine my friends propping up my dead friend in my damn house! I would be screaming down the street!!! 🤣🤣
I would want my friends to take me out for one last night of partying when I pass away
That was a great story. : )
One of the Barrymores talked about taking the late Barymore for one last night of drinking and corrousing, described it on a 1970s talk show
@@marcietorrence5361and the Flynn skit was at the end of the night.
Flynn himself was a notorious late-hour guy.
Same. 😂
How people could ever do such despicable things as stealing a loved one's body or ashes is beyond me!! I cannot even imagine the pain that it would cause an already grieving family... 😞
I don't even like the people that go to dig up Mummy's or places and dig up places and find bones leave well enough alone. How they feel if some one went in to a grave yard and dug up grandma and took stuff and body and put it on display it's all kind of odd to me digging up the body's of the past and put on display in a museum you have to get a special permit and court order just to exhume a body in a grave yard weird world?
@@daviddoyle8956 Exactly!!!! My father-in-law once caught a bunch of teenagers literally digging up his OWN FATHER'S GRAVE. The kids were all drunk and told the cops that they thought it'd be "really hilarious". He (my FIL) came this close (just a pinch between your thumb & forefinger) to shooting those stupid kids - and I don't blame him one bit! His daddy died unexpectedly of pneumonia when he was only 12 and they had to not only build his coffin & dig his grave, but all those boys had to grow up far, far earlier than anyone should have to.
But the saddest part of all of it? My very own COUSIN was a part of those hooligans who desecrated the grave! This was all long before I ever met my husband (we lived in another state). Apparently, my Uncle paid a lot of 'hush money' to keep his son out of jail & the whole thing kept quiet. It was completely & utterly despicable.
None of the rest of our family even knew about it until my husband told me (& that was years after we had gotten married).
But I had the same exact thoughts as you when he told me. How would my cousin & all the rest of those jerks have felt had it been HIS Daddy??? So yes, I completely understand & empathize with all those whose lives & families have been hurt that way. Far too much disrespect all the way around. 😞
I notice you have a screenshot of Mike Szymanski's grave. Mike's an old friend of mine, and he is still very much alive. He wanted his gravesite to be memorable, and it certainly is!
Another excellent production. I can add another irony of victim & killer buried near each other. Antone Costa (AKA Tony Chop Chop) was a serial killer in 1969 on Cape Cod. He is buried in an unmarked grave (next to his mother) in Provincetown, MA and one of his victims is buried about 20 feet away.
Another masterful and absorbing episode in a great series.
Arthur Dark's voice has the quiet calmness of Audie Murphys. Quite mesmerizing. Thanks Arthur. This was very informative.
Why you don't have a TV show yet, is beyond me.
Everything about this videos is superb: your voice, the narratives, the cinematography, the music, the editing, the stories. Magical.
Thank you, Mr. Dark.
From Portugal with love. 💖
Gosh, you are so right!, Isabel! Hopefully someone sees your suggestion( a director, producer, Netflix, tv stations ….. someone that has “vision”) and gives this extraordinary man, who obviously looking at all these great comments, has quite a following & gives him a his own tv show! Here’s hoping……….”Great idea Isabel!!”😁

Even your name, being
Dark
Victor Borge is also “buried in pieces”…half here in Connecticut, USA, and half in Denmark. 🎹 🙂✌️
didn't know that! always enjoyed his shows 😁👍
I didn’t know that! Thanks Fran r the information. Do you have any idea which city his body or ashes are e buried in? I live in Massachusetts & always lived him! Thanks so much!😁
I wondered what this year’s Halloween special would be. Bravo Mr. Dark!
This channel always helps my anxiety. Arthurs voice and the stories of people you may have never heard of. Just soothing
I totally agree I would absolutely love to meet this young man
You make death less morbid….I love it
I swear if your grave doesn't have the phrase "Join us, won't you?" under your name and dates then I will.... do nothing. I'll probably be long gone myself by that point.
Love your comment & great idea!
The best comment I've read for any of his videos ! Bravo, Ms. Jenny Munday, Bravo.
Arthur, the levels of your creativity are without bound to date! BRAVO!!!
This was another Arthur Dark masterpiece! Loved it.
After watching this episode can we, please, have a crossover between Hollywood Graveyard and Ask a Mortitian?
Oh yes please 😆!
17:38 is from me! Thank you so much for including this bizarre little instance in your video, Arthur! You're the best!
That was an interesting one!
I actually love that the young woman's murderer was called out, forever, for EVERYONE to see, on her headstone.
I'm not crazy about the fact he's ALSO in the same cemetery but, then again, there's a sort of poetic justice to it.
What Chopin did with his heart was actually pretty noble and cool--he definitely REPRESENTED.
His sister was the real MVP in the last part of the journey.
There's two more graves just off the runway in Savannah. And Atlanta's airport has two full cemeteries located on their grounds when they bought land to build an additional runway.
Victor Borge’s remains are split between Connecticut with his 2nd wife Sanna, and his parents' graves in Copenhagen.
As a young boy in the 70s, I probably saw Elmer McCurdy’s body before it was removed at The New Pike amusement park dark ride in '76 after his discovery; the park closed in ‘79. I remember the news story when the TV crew found him, it was creepy.
Seconded; I visited the Pike as a kid in the 1970's myself.
@@cynthiapickett7403 R.i.p moe
I remember the New Pike in Long Beach Ca. If it's the same one, I saw it too but didn't know the story. Yikes!
Thanks for featuring some of the graves that I have visited. You could always do a part 2 on this series as there is a lot more out there that is pretty wacky. William "Bloody Bill" Anderson has three graves with body parts in all three. They are located in Missouri, Kentucky and Ohio. Excellent job putting this together. I really enjoyed seeing the ones overseas!
Hi Rhett! Awesome cameo in this video. Great job. I hope you're doing well.
@@jeffthegraveguy8629 Thank you Jeff. He used three graves I've filmed and did an excellent job with them.
Cool seeing you here.. Still waiting for you to visit Springfield, Mo.
@@JoshuaMuse I'll make it out that way at some point. There are just so many places to go!
Rhet….seeing you all over 😂
Cannot think of a better way to spend my Halloween night than with a video by Arthur Dark. I should sleep great tonight, that wasn't creepy at all. 😳
This was one of my all-time favorites, Arthur!
I thoroughly enjoyed all of the hard work you put into this. I was the cemetery preservation representative for north Alabama for many many years and I have seen a lot of weird graves. You did a fabulous job on this!
Another excellent episode! I sincerely appreciate the care, theatrics and detail you inject in you our channel. Thank you for the entertainment!
That part about Anton gave me chills
As I get older, I find myself thinking about my own demise more often. No obsession or anything, just a wow, this is going to happen to me one day. I started watching your videos. I admit that the thought of death frightens me, but somehow your videos help ease my fear slightly. I laughed at some of the content in this video and thought carefully about my wishes from some of your others. Your voice is soothing and I'm not scared anymore. I thank you for that. I now have my final wishes written out, plot chosen and insurance purchased. I didn't freak out doing it either. Thank you again.
That's really awesome you have taken the initiative on your death plans. Caitlin Doughty is another RUclipsr who is also very death positive and taking the initiative to get your final wishes in order.
I'm basically trying to do the same thing, but it is VERY slow going for me. Also I'm doing cremation, memorial bench & tree instead of the traditional funeral and burial etc. So I know at least that's the core of what I want 🤷.
@@TheMeloettaful I'm glad for you. I ts scary, I know but having peace of mind is wonderful.
No need to be afraid my friend. Your body will rot in darkness alone in the cold ground. Rotten away to dust leaving just the skeleton
As your spirit dances to its new found home without it
Maybe one day you will be a treasure for someone to research if the earth still remains
I read your comments. I’m getting older too and almost 70. I read the Psalms in the Bible. Very comforting 🌸
Now I can put a face to the voice! Great video Mr Dark! I look forward to seeing more! Thank you!
You should a "special" on Dracula and the actors who played the"Count" and one on "Dark Shadows". Seeing that Jonathan Frid(Dark Shadows)died not too long ago-I think he's either buried in Canada or cremated-Christopher Lee was cremated as well.
The body of Jonathan Frid was cremated. The location of his ashes are unknown.
The late Chirstopher Lee was great as Dracula. I enjoyed that film.
A lot of the Dark Shadows actors are still alive
In one of his episodes he covered Bela Lugosi :)
@@Jman417 He was the best Dracula imo
WHEN THIS COMES UP IN MY ALERTS, I get all warm and excited inside!! CLICK!!!! Welcome back friend
I had a friend who passed away 20 years ago. He served as a Navy as well as a Merchant Marine. He wanted to have his ashes spread off the back of a Coast Guard Cutter in the Gulf of Mexico. His large family had a big fight over this as some of them wanted a place to visit him. The compromise was that they would divide his ashes in half where half of them would be spread in the Gulf of Mexico off the back of a Coast Guard Cutter while the interment of the rest of his ashes was in the Houston National Cemetery. So I believe that splitting of the "body" of the dead is more common than one might think.
Best episode ever! I don’t know how you keep outdoing yourself, but you do. Thank you and your team for the artistry
On the subject of one person, two graves; Father Damien was originally buried on Molokai, but after his cantonization, his body was reburied in Belgium. As a gesture to his roots in Hawaii, one of his hands was reintered back on Molokai.
You have the greatest voice for this. Thank you for entertaining us.
Yes his voice is well suited for these vids.
This video is my favorite! I love these stories as they’re peppered through all the other videos. So cool to see them all together in one spot! Outstanding Mr Dark. Just the best channel on You Tube. I savor these videos and watch them multiple times.
The story about the crypt over Marilyn Monroe is correct, however his remains were removed by his widow Elsie in 2009 and the crypt was auctioned off on E-bay for $4.6 million to an anonymous bidder. His remains are no longer in the crypt, just his nameplate remains until the new owner of it passes away.
That was alot of money for a crypt!
@@bambinoandmore46 especially with no remains!!

For some reason I thought Hugh Hefner was entombed above Marilyn.
@@markcadieux3445 Hugh is buried beside Marilyn. Looking at the crypts, Hugh is on the left of Marilyn. A man named Bruce Fisher is on the right side of Marilyn. He was already there (1954) when Marilyn passed away.
You’re giving me Rod Serling vibes, and I love it!
A cross between Rod Serling and Art Bell.
Yes!! He does!!
Who cares about work in the morning?! Arthur posted!!
You forgot to mention that when Eva Peron was put on display after Juan brought her back... her body looked perfect. Not atall decomposed ...she looked just like she was sleeping. That was amazing to find out!!!
Fitting for the monster she was.
I really enjoyed this!! I had no idea where Julia Child was layed to rest, or that there was a sexiest tomb, ect. I couldn't quit watching! Thank you!
21:49 Fun fact I actually met Penn and Teller in Las vegas in 2018, but i didn't see the cenotaph in forest lawn hollywood hills in may 2017
Dammit, I was just about to wander off to bed, but that’ll have to wait now! I’m giving this a presumptive 👍just because!
I would have figured the family would have had a part of his grave stone in braille. Kinda as a funny but interesting feature for the man who invented braille.
Absolutely well done! Brilliant film. I am beyond impressed! Thank you, Mr. Dark.
Arthur: "Which of Galileo's fingers is on display? The middle one. Interpret that as you will."
Me: Sounds like a giant "F@*k you!" to the Church from beyond the grave. 🤣 EDIT-- It's nice to actually see Arthur narrating. 😀
Agreed! “Dark” glasses and all 😎
Great video sometimes i walk at a cemetery thinking about friends and others i lost

Always love this show, but Arthur my dear, you have out done yourself! Well done. Thanks for this episode.
That was FUN!! Great Stuff, Arthur. This represents everything that is good on RUclips. TY
The best epitaph I ever read was in a Albuquerque, New Mexico cemetery. It read:

I love your voice. It is so fitting for these kind of stories. Thank you, a fan from Ky.

Anton Yelchin's death is tragic and shocking, and can't fathom how that poor soul suffered. R.I.P Anton, as the saying goes, We hardly knew thee...

I always love this channel.😍❤️❤️❤️ Welcome back sir Arthur Dark 🤗🤝.
Arthur... another absolutely brilliant episode. It was fun seeing Lily Gray here in SLC included!!! My mind is blown at the coincidence of Anton. I had the pleasure of being at his grave when his mother was there one day. My heart hurt so bad for her. My mouth also dropped at McCurdy's story. I definitely give this an enthusiastic two thumbs up and hope to see more like this! There are so many incredible stories about cemeteries and the people in them, and how cool you get to tell them!!
What a wonderful, intelligent and entertaining video you have made. This is the type of quality of a very good tv show. Well done Arthur. I look forward to more of your videos.
What a Masterpiece of work, from a true Master. I can't wait for your video's to come out, and everyone is better than the last. Your story telling, delivery, and camera work are unmatched. You are truly going places in this world. Thanks for everything.
Another fantastic video as always. So fitting for the Halloween season. I think I could do a year in the countess's tomb. All I would need is constant light to chase shadows away, all the yarn and supplies I need to crochet whatever I want, all the music I wanted and reliable way to play it, my favorite books, plenty of pillows-blankets- and a comfy bed, and of course food, drinks, and snacks. And also my phone with internet. Too bad I am afraid to fly. Lol. Oh well.
Such a beautiful piece of work. Thank you 👻💀⚰️🪦⚱️
