Model Railroad Scenery | Dirt and Ballast

I wanted to share briefly some of the products I use to create realistic dirt and ballast effects on my model railroad. This is just the initial step, many more follow including additional applications of dirt, painting, and weathering. Enjoy!

Some awesome texturing of soil, yard and dirt road bases you’ve shown here. Love the way the blending of your mainline and yard stretches look. It provides so much more transitions than the sort of obvious distinctions in ballast textures our eyes so often observe on the tube!

It is not as bad as it seems and really transforms the layout. As I mentioned, just have a few products to work with and go for it!
