    I have used other material like foam for rocks but I can see now.....that plaster has a much better result. More detail. Easier to manipulate. Finer scratches and lines. Great job! Like it! Thanks for the video tutorial.

    As a professional geologist and avid rock climber, I approve of your ultra realistic rocks! I’m not sure if I have nearly the artistic coordination that you have with the knives, but I plan to give it a try nonetheless! Any chance you could do a tutorial about how you did the ground cover for all the ground surfaces upslope from the rock outcrops? I think you nailed the southwestern landscape!

    is it better to use lets say a beige/brown primer first then go on with your technique? im about to start painting my 3d printed models. and red/yellow/black etc sucks not to prime first :D

  • @gunnararndt4359
    @gunnararndt4359 5 лет назад

    Maybe you should use more waterer in order to make the color yet more thinnerer. I'm kidding, of course. Great work again. Your english pronounciation is probably better then mine - I think we're from the same region.

    How long have you been making rocks this way?

  • @hdspringer2561
    @hdspringer2561 6 лет назад +2

    sieht absolut genial aus. Du sprichst am Anfang von Wasserfarbe, ist das wirklich die Farbe aus dem Wasserfarbkasten?
    Ich benutze bei meinen Felsen Woodland Sceenics Earthcolor. Sieht ziemlich ähnlich aus, ist natürlich viel teurer.
    Das drybrushing mit der hellbraunen Farbe zum Schluss finde ich vom Effekt her sehr gelungen. Ich kannte das zuvor nur mit weißer Farbe. Muss ich bei meinen nächsten Felsen unbedingt auch einmal ausprobieren. Bin schon auf weitere Videos gespannt, wie es mit der Gestaltung der Landschaft weitergeht. Thumps up. 👍

    • @BNSFUPRailroader
      @BNSFUPRailroader  6 лет назад +2

      Nabend HD Springer, im Prinzip könntest Du auch genau die Farben aus dem Malkasten nehmen...- das würde aber bedeuten, dass Du schon eine ganze Vielzahl an Wasserfarbkästen bräuchtest, um an die Menge an Farbe zu kommen, die man eben so benötigt. Deshalb nehme ich Abtönfarbe/Abdeckfarbe aus dem Bauhaus und verdünne diese soweit, dass sie sich wie echte Wasserfarben aus dem Kasten verhalten ;-)
      Tausend Dank für Deinen tollen Kommentar - wenn es die Zeit zulässt, werde ich euch auf dem Laufenden halten.
      Grüße,
      Volker

    What type of plaster do you use for the rocks that you carve?

    • @BNSFUPRailroader
      @BNSFUPRailroader  6 лет назад

      Hello, I use normal plaster or gypsum - a soft white mineral consisting of hydrated calcium sulfate. Here in Germany we simply say "Gips"...

    Schöne Felsen. Mach ruhig auf deutsch :) Ich vermute du kannst ein paar mehr gute Insights auf Deutsch geben. Vielleicht dann mit Untertiteln für internationale Zuschauer?
    Man sagt übrigens nicht 'more darker' oder 'more thinner'. Es ist entweder 'more thin' oder 'thinner'. Das gilt auch für die anderen Adjektive.
