    Hi nice video. I bought the same chassis after watching your video. May i asked, can i use the wheels and Tyre from the body shell i bought? I am running the Mercedes AMG GT 3 body shell set. What wheels and tyre do!u recommend for running circuit race (not drifting)? Could u provide me the link? Thanks mate!

    Thanks for this, Q: what do you use to clean old tape off when replacing tires?

      There's a commercial product called GooGone and acetone is good at getting off adhesive... hopefully the wheels are not sensitive to it. Go to the part of the grocery or drug store that has women's nail care and in the nail polish remover section, look for 100% acetone.
      Thanks for watching!

      Hi, sorry I didn't see your comment sooner. You can use the wheels that come with the bodies... in fact, you should make sure to buy extra wheels with the same offset front and rear. There is a sheet included with each body that tells you what that offset is. Round down if you can't buy wheels in half mm sizes, example: if the front wheels are 1.5mm offset, buy 1mm offset wheels, don't try to squeeze in 2mm wheels.
      As far as tires go, this is a matter of opinion, conditions, and experience. In the winter, you'll run different tires than in the summer... and each brand has unique properties. Buy a range of tires and experiment. Ex: when I say range, I mean get a soft and a super soft tire for the rear as an example. I like a softer tire in the rear vs the front usually by one level.
      I hope this helps.

    Hi, i bought 2 new sets of aftermarket wheelsets compatible to mini z, but too tight fit cannot go into the pins? May advise what to do next? Visual the new wheels slot holes are normal, but just cannot fit in ?Thanks

      Mini-z wheels are a pain. Especially when dealing with aftermarket wheels. The offset has to be right for the body and weather you’re running the front end narrow or wide. I’d buy Kyosho strictly if possible. I’ve got lots of aftermarket wheels I can’t use also. Sorry I can’t be more helpful on this issue.

      The truers are hard to find in stock because they sell out quick... I think I found mine on Kenon... I'm putting some vendor links below where you can find mini-z related products. Hope they help.
      I can't speak about other brands, but I like this one because it has a 3/4 inch drum... I found the stock sanding drum to be to course. I changed it to a 250 grit drum which was easy to find on Amazon.

    Is truing totally necessary?

    • @MyRCChannel-CJScott
      @MyRCChannel-CJScott  10 месяцев назад +1

      With the newer “radial” tires, I don’t think it’s as necessary as it used to be… I guess it depends on how competitive you are and what you’re used to. If you’ve got a track at home and wear in the radials a bit before racing on them to scuff them in, that might do the job too. A few practice laps might also get you there.
      The thing with mini-z is when you’re racing at the high levels the smallest things can make a big difference.
      Best of luck and thanks for watching!
