The anime was ahead of the manga, and both versions just borrowed Toriyama's simple plot points and added their own stuff, giving us two canons, plus the movies, giving us 3 canon versions of Super. There's no 1 canon with modern DB.

In Japanese, they didn't call it the legendary super saiyan. They didn't know what was up with Kale. Only in the English dub the legendary super saiyan term was used. Not sure about manga.
Both Kale and Broly are the Legendary Super Saiyans of their Universes
They both use standard Super Saiyan form, as shown with yellow hair, and Legendary Suoer Saiyan or Berserk form as shown with green hair
Both at their Berserk Forms are unstable and abnormally Increase ki until they explode

When Super Saiyan is unlocked, an imperfect state is first achieved. It offers more ferocity, drains stamina, and have a lesser power multiple
At Cell Games. Goku figured out how to fully master Super Saiyan form. By making it like a natural state, by keeping the form active by long periods, making his body use to the form, until he can master it.
Doing so allows him to use Super Saiyan with less emotion required, less stamina drain, and greater power multiple. Which allowed him to stand a chance agsinst Cell in the Cell Games, before throwing fight for Gohan
So calling Broly’s form full powered Super Saiyan sounds redundant and something any Saiyan can achieve, when really his form in a unique mutant form he’s born with

I think of it as Broly’s ki is so unique and strong it changes the super Saiyan form when he fully unleashed it.
@@mynameisjoedahand3008 I see it as his body being able to handle the full power of his ki in the ssj state so he's able to go all out where everyone else got bogged down speed wise. Like he took the concept of powering up the form like Vegeta and Trunks but doesn't receive the downside of being considerably slower.
The full power is attached to broly's name not the super saiyan transformation so still up in the air.
Kale also has berserk attached to her name so it seems to be implied that both have not mastered the legendary from like z broly had.

Broly was going to go berserk without the golden eyes from his Ikari form in the Super Hero movie. I think this was retconned, rightfully so.

I know that they dont call it legendary super saiyan, but Broly still possesses the traits of LSSJ: Power that continues to increase exponentially, posing a threat to not only others but the saiyan himself. Broly also goes on a rampage that is in stark contrast to his actual gentle nature in base, which is almost identical to OG Broly and Kale, who is most likely Broly’s Universe 6 counterpart. I think they are moving away from the name LSSJ simply because he is just a mutant saiyan whose saiyan characteristics are completely out of balance, versus actually being a unique transformation.
If 1 person Can get it ONLY every 1000 years and you have to be born with it and the name of the transformation Is Super Saiyan... then MAYBE Just MAYBE Its the Legendary Super Saiyan

Simple, for marketing. Manga broly doesn’t even have green hair in ssj full power, and the full power form in the movie was clearly created as an afterthought, look at how much effort it took broly to transform into a regular ssj compared to full power ssj.

@@AxisChurchDevotee there are more panels that narrate the broly arc during the manga superhero arc, and it shows an armour less, muscular broly with yellow hair, it even shows him with yellow hair just before he gets hit by gogeta’s kamehameha.

It makes sense. Gokou was the Legendary S.S.Grade.1 that Refrigerator feared. It’s narratively satisfying in the Namek Saga since when Gokou showed up to whoop Racoom and the rest of Ginny Forces, Vegeta believed him to be the legend. It payed off when Gokou did become S.S.Grade.1 in over a millennia when he was (at least to the character’s knowledge) only full-blooded Sayiajin left.
(Z) Broly took that away in his movies as he was the Super Sayiajin described by Vegeta on Namek, but even if he’s more accurate to the legend, there’s not a good narrative to be had.

Theres always been a confusion between both goku and broly, which has which form. But i believe in the book of the saiyans that only royalty has access to, there are 3 different legends. One being , a regular saiyan who has Ascended which is the legend call *The* legendary super saiyan or other words a saiyan from the legends as in a title Referring to a *regular* saiyan whos ascended which is basically every saiyan who is now alive and in the anime. The second legend is, *The legendary ssj* which is the from that no regular saiyan may achieve except 1, which is broly, for some peoples sake they call him beserk to not get them confuse, its a state that grants the user uncontrolable anger and power which only happen to *1* saiyan every 1000 years, not multiple saiyans within the same universe and same timeline, and then you have the ssjg which is a complete different legend so yea too much writing 😅 i dont even watch dbz or dbs idk why i know this but most dont

FPSSJ is basically Ikari form fused with SSJ, in the distorced dimension we can see Broly’s hair in Yellow, meanwhile in the normal dimension his hair is green (because of ikari’s green aura)

You should probably think about it like how humans don't use 100% of their power all the time because it's dangerous to our bodies as we can break our own bones with how much physical power we actually possess and no amount of training let's us freely use it as it only comes out in a high adrenaline state pushing the limit.
Green ssj in this case being a mutant form would be similar to an unessecary amount of ki and adrenaline doping. From a defect in the specific saiyans body. Which can be similar to us breaking our own bones in the sense of how all the lssj seem to run the risk of overflow possibly leading to self detonation from too much ki too fast.
So if you think about it like that. Then yes it's full power because normally no living creature ACTUALLY uses it's full power unless something triggers it.
Remember that in Universe 6, mutants like Kale & Broly are known as Legendary Saiyans, so the term Legendary Super Saiyan can still technically apply to them as it is a unique SSJ form that is genetically exclusive to Legendary Saiyans due to their unique inherently demonic mutation (which is why the form tends to result in berserker rage & is itself a reference to DBZ Broly's iconic I AM A DEVIL quote)!
I think that they do this primarily to differentiate canon LSSJ Broly from the non-canon LSSJ Broly who resembles the myth of the Legendary SSJ (that they were a brutal blood thirsty Super warrior which Toriyama himself noted was actually a misconception born from the original SSJ Yamoshi who ferocity in battle was mistaken by his enemies the Evil Ancient Saiyans who are the ancestors of all modern Saiyans as righteous Saiyans like Yamoshi were wiped out as the Evil Ancient Saiyans had no issue committing genocide against their righteous brethren)! It's also suggested mutants like Broly & Kale created confusion in regards to the SSJ form & mutant LSSJ form, as they tend to appear every millenia in both Universe 6 & 7! It has never been confirmed if Yamoshi was a mutant Legendary Saiyan or a normal Saiyan who achieved SSJ like Goku though the latter was seemingly implied by Toriyama who initially didn't want canon Broly to have the FPSSJ/LSSJ form, though I think it was the right call to include it since Kale possesses said form as I like the idea of her & Broly being counterparts as both are essentially the current Legendary Saiyan of their respective universes!
Just thought DBS Broly had the green-ish aura and hair because he's not just in SSJ, but also with the controlled Oozaru power. You know, the power that introduces his energy color.
As he stacks both the x10 and the x50, reason why Goku and Vegeta SSJ Blue weren't enough to beat him. It just made sense to me right away, dunno why peope want to mix him with the old movie Broly's way of being done. It was announced as a rewriting, to incorporate him into this universe. He does work differently than old school Broly.
In the daizenchu for DBZ broly the legendary super saiyan, Z broly’s legendary form IS referred to as “Full-Power Super Saiyan” as well as “Super Saiyan (Final Form)”
Im mildly confident in why he’s called the “legendary super sayian”. Broly in Dbz to my belief went super sayian before goku did. If you watch the scenes where paragus describes broly’s blood lust it’s very visible that in one scene he is super sayian. This was also a flashback to a younger Broly leading me to assume he was the “legendary super sayian” unlike DBS Broly where he unlock berserk way after everyone

It seems like they’re starting to try to explain Brolys transformation by calling it Full power SSJ, which is what they called vegeta and trunks forms in the cell ark. Hence the huge muscles, and bright blonde hair. I’m not mad at it tbh.
One thing I find cool, is that full power super saiyan is literally just ssj4. It’s wrathful which is just oozaru in base + super saiyan, the exact same thing as ssj4: golden oozaru in base (Which for my non GT fans out there is just oozaru + ssj)
It was legendary when they didn't know of broly. Now that they trained with the guy they wouldn't use that term anymore.

I forgot about the anime stuff. However I've read the manga recently and in the T.O.P. arc Kale is indeed some sort of ancestor to the Legendary Saiyan in Universe 6, however she is not a Legendary SUPER Saiyan only Legendary Saiyan said capable to go berserk, the manga not calling her Legendary Saiyan without the "Super" term does make sense, especially considering the fact that Cabba doesn't seem to know about the term "Super Saiyan" before meeting Universe 7 Saiyans during the previous U6 vs U7 arc but he know about the story of Legendary Saiyan of his universe.
As for Super Broly, he is not THE Legendary Super Saiyan, the legendary super saiyan isn't really a form it was talking about a legend about a saiyan achieving the Super Saiyan form a long time ago, and if anything Goku is THE Legendary Super Saiyan since he was the first to achieve the Super Saiyan form after 1000 years making him fulfilling the prophecy about the Legendary Super Saiyan. The reason why Broly full Power SSJ is insanely strong is most likely due to his Super Saiyan form is combined with Oozaru power, this kinda make Full Power SSJ Broly is closer to a canon SSJ4.
Also people need to remember that the whole LSSJ Broly thing was exclusive to the non-canon Z movie version of Broly. Super Broly FPSSJ is not LSSJ.

Only reason I’d call it LSSJ is because iirc Vegeta once said that the first Super Saiyan ended up destroying the planet or a planet due to his power alone, and so that planet destroying power consuming descriptions of SSJ relates to Broly well. In any other case I wouldn’t consider them to be the “LSSJ”, because aside from power, there’s. I thing legendary about it. It’s just insane super buff Super Saiyan.

Because the legendary super Sagan was retconned to be a specific sayan who unlocked the secret of god ki, instead of the original once in a few generations genetic anomaly.
The existence of OG broly was actually an example of a good retcon in my opinion since every living sayan at that point in the story was a super sayan, it made the legend not just “the warrior race was too week willed or lazy to unlock it in 1000 years”

@@kindertak5396 I admit I worded it a bit funny, but in battle of gods we are shown a “righteous sayan” who was apparently the first to unlock super sayan in recorded sayan history, the elder namekian recorded his story as the super sayan who would have destroyed the sayan empire, which the normal sayans turned into the legendary super sayan who would destroy the cold empire. At some point before or maybe after he died he unlocked the secret of the super sayan god transformation. That or his spirit was looking for 6 righteous sayans crossed the universe for a thousand years for fate reasons It’s not exactly clear.
His name is yoshi or something close and the only canon evidence we have to any super sayan before that is that old Kai might have seen a golden oozaru despite being in a sword for 75million years. But that happened in GT before god was written into the story.
“They were too weak willed to attain SSJ” they had their minds closed off under King Cold’s subjugation. They were not only not allowed to train and grow stronger, but they were conditioned into thinking that their base power, without training, was the only power that had merit.
In comes Goku, who not only rapidly grows stronger through optimized training methods and ENJOYS training, but also is the first Saiyan in 1000 years to become a SSJ because of his freedom from the enslaved Saiyan mindset + his personal connections with those he trains with.
Bad retcon. He should’ve stayed the true legend in his universe in the DBS Broly movie. It fit the legend to a t. They made him into a shell of his former self, despite the arguably better backstory.

They did Jiren n Broly same way. Jiren has no full power form, that was just his anime version of adapting to MUi, he still tried to power up in that form against MUi Goku as Goku was going in for the finish.
