O Tranquil Light, Світло Tихе - Byzantine Hymn from Vespers

This hymn is taken from the vespers service in the Byzantine rite (Catholic and Orthodox). Tranquil Light, also known as O Gladsome Light or O Joyful Light, would be sung at vespers service at the Entrance of the Gospel Book. This version is in Ukrainian and with the traditional Galician (from western Ukraine) melody. The Ukrainian lyrics and an English translation follow:
Світло тихе святої слави, безсмертного Отця небесного, святого, блаженного, Ісусе Христе! Доживши до заходу сонця, бачивши світло вечірнє, славимо Отця, і Сина, і Святого Духа - Бога. Достойно є повсякчас прославляти тебе голосами побожними, Сину Божий, що життя даєш усьому світу; тому світ увесь славить Тебе.
O tranquil Light! Light and holy Glory of the Father immortal, the heavenly, holy, the blessed One, O Jesus Christ! Now that we have reached the setting of the sun, and see the evening light, we sing to God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit. It is fitting at all times to raise a song of praise in measured melody to You, O Son of God, the Giver of life. Behold, the universe sings Your glory.
