(not so proud of it anymore now that its been shipped off to China and sold only there)
Look how far the Ford Taurus has come so far!
We've owned 3. 1987 LX Wagon, 95 SE Sedan and now we're on a 2005 SEL Sedan. Solid cars, only weak point is the Transmission. I've had that many Explorers.. 01 Sport, 99 Limited, and now a 2002 XLT. Again, weak link: Trans. I've been wondering where I'd find the original Ad. Thanks for posting!
The trannsmissions and the crappy 3.8 essex V6 were the only bad things about the Taurus. get one with the Vulcan engine and you should be fine with regular maintenance.
I like this energetic song so much
I was 10 years old when this commercial came out and we can remember my Aunts friend was looking at a brand new fully loaded Taurus LX Wagon. She bought the car and she drove it for 12 years, also my cousin and his girlfriend who just got married bought a brand new 1989 Taurus LX wagon. We had quite a few Fords in our family. My grandfather drove F150s, Rangers and Aerostars. I have a 2004 Mercury Grand Marquis and my other cousin drives Crown Vics and my other cousin has 2 Town Cars.
k
I can't get this out of my head
Still looks pretty modern for a 34 year old design.
LATELY! Sorry the ad cut off just a second too early and I couldn't leave it hanging...
I saw this the first time for the commercial. I came back several more times for the song.
still waiting for a song about the damn MAP sensor that was always faulty
we have never had this issue and we own 3 Tauruses.
These cars were a BIG deal when they came out
lol the song is great
Ford has seen the future, and how the future is here! Have an all electric four door Mustang inspired minivan!
Don't forget that about the same time the Taurus was introduced the Aerostar minivan was as well. That was ahead of its time, too, with the style, trying to one-up Chrysler and GM.
Saw a Taurus parked on the street, in good condition. This jingle immediately came to mind. We had two Tauruses in the family and both were good cars.
"Taurus!... now there's an American car...with the shape and the space to haul all of that cheese this cheesy song provided us...Taurus!"
