full finger gloves You're going to wear gloves It's got to be all leather all over every part of your hands and fingers if you don't want to be healing after using your hands to catch yourself as you fall or just rolling around the ground after you fall in your hands scrape on the pavement
I just buy $10 full fingered leather gloves and wrist guards that work well with my remote cut hole in the thumb if you need to have better control over the remote but that little tiny hole you cut in that thumb portion of the glove while it may still get your skin torn away in a fall and that little tiny opening the rest of your hands will not lose skin.... I have the hillbilly full finger gloves but they're not all leather and my knuckles got scraped down on the bone cuz it was just some weird nylon crap to make my hands be able to you know make it to a fist and then my fingers better but it just ended up getting torn away in a fall full leather anywhere always the don't want the road to scrape away your skin to varying levels up to an including down to the bone 😊 guards

Great vid! I use puck gloves and shredlights and have figured out a few hacks for them:
    1. For the gloves I cut the right puck in half and it fits the remote perfectly.
    2. I have an Exway Flex with clear 120mm cloud wheels. I mounted the shredlights by sharing a screw with the ESC enclosure so that they point directly at the wheels. This illuminates the wheels making you super visible to those around you. Same principle as the clear tail puck on the Wave.
I also recommend for night riders that you get a good high powered flashlight. It ties up your hands but it's not only for seeing. You can shake it at upcoming intersections so people know you are coming or point it for signal turns to people behind you. I've been looking for a good way to wrist mount a flashlight but none that are great so far.
DK - I think a vid maybe highlighting community DIY hacks would be super interesting.

Hi Daniel, Apprecite all your videos by the way. Just my 2 bits on sliding when falling off.....I grew up riding horses & if you didn't learn to tuck & roll when you came off, you would be full of prickles & gravel stones pretty quick. I translate this method to eskate, which is where perhaps the MTB gear is suitable depending on what you're doing. I downhill also, but pad up accordingly knowing the speed I'm going at wont be practical to roll out of......I'm only pointing this out because rolling out of a fall is supposed to dissipate speed rapidly, & also protect your skin/appendages.
For Eskate, even going 50kms, knowing how to control momentum in a fall has saved me more than any protective gear has. Just a suggestion, watch a few parkour vids people & practice.
Again love your vids Dan, complete honesty all the way :)

*Generally I wear a full face helmet and bike gloves. The wristguard is a good idea but for every day use, for quick commutes and doin stuff in between, it gets in the way.* I love my TSG Pass but yes there are some small aesthetic flaws, some have more than others. I love the mirrored visor.

I must not be the only one who thinks the tsg pass is absolutely not worth the price. The dot helm I have now was like 60 dollars that fits better (more and better padding) , adjustable air flow, feels safer (doesn't feel like my nose is going to be the first to break), and it doesn't get air in and doesn't whistle.

Nah. I bought the shred lights front and rear package and the 1st and only time i went out when it was wet, the front lights stopped working. I opened them both up to discover water inside. theyre 'supposed' to be IP65 water rated. i contacted shredlights and they weren't interested as it was over 90 day warranty .
They are bright (possibly too bright as they confuse motorists and pedestrians ) but only headon, anything to the side can't see you. The best bit about them is they mount very securely to the board.. but no one mentions that the stock screws on the board are only JUST long enough to get the nuts on.
    Good battery life, ages even.
Im going to get another pair of fronts but only because theyre the best of whats out there... and that isnt saying much. 5/10

If your going to get a full face helmet I would just go with a motorcycle helmet because it’s going to be more well padded then the tsg helmets and it’s meant for falling off a vehicle that’s much more dangerous then a eskate board so when u do fall off your eskate your head is going to thank you. Same thing with the gloves. Only biker gear j wouldn’t get is jacket j would much rather have a padded down jacket then a regular old leather jacket.

  • @indigo_wolf3574

The gloves would have been 100% if they:
    1) Used less synthetics (at least they look like synthetics) synth NEVER lasts as long as natural leathers.
    2) They should have made that entire gray area: "pucks" and panel velcro backed and replaceable.
    -----------------------------------------------------------------
I have no problems with the Shred Lights being what they are, but I wish they had user replaceable batteries (18650, 21700) so that you could take spare batteries with you and replace them if needed. And lights with user replaceable batteries don't preclude them from good IPX ratings.
If you need more robust lighting for lighting up the road:
Outbound Lighting Evo for the deck (still waiting for release of the GoPro mount in another 4-6 weeks) even though the light is out now.
Outbound Lighting Hangover mounted on the helmet with a GoPro quick-mount on the helmet.
Originally from the biking world, but nothing wrong with a bit of cross-pollination...
