    Have you tried the Hoyt Dadbod or Cascade? Great boards with great acceleration....I haven't found anything more stable and carvy at the same time. I can cruise at 40 with no issues...stable as hell. I'd like to try the Radium though...looks great and obviously well built. Nice review!

    Paul here I am in Michigan and is it possible to get a mountain board, with the same power and trucks with the mountain board wheels like 6 inch 7 inch wheels

    • @ajplant96
      @ajplant96 6 месяцев назад +1

      You can get similar power but you’re not getting a mountainboard out of those components. It’s a street board that can do some light unsealed surfaces with its torque vectoring feature. Mountainboard you’d be looking at an angled deck and top mounted battery with channel trucks or something similar and for off road riding the way a mountainboard is meant to be used you want at least 8” wheels and bindings.

    • @CraigTaylorYT
      @CraigTaylorYT  4 месяца назад

      The guys who build them take them everywhere, including dirt trails. Reach out to MBoards in Vegas if you want similar power in something off-road though. They will definitely look after you best.

The M1 does look interesting but 12s is a no deal they have to rebuild the battery and ESC at a 14s. Plus Acedeck just drop another 14s. that's the new performance formula 14s

    How would you compare the wheels to something like the mad wheels?

    • @CraigTaylorYT
      @CraigTaylorYT  7 месяцев назад +1

      I love the mad wheels. These wheels are amazing too, but heavy. Much better range from mad wheels. The rubber compound is super grippy, and the diameter is larger, so the ride comfort is slightly better. It is hard to compare directly as I would need to try the mad wheels on this board. The suspension, adds to the ride comfort and makes these wheels feel even more amazing. Sorry I’m not super clear, cause there is a lot going on in this board.

    Those two belts look like they’ll grab all kinds of dirt and rocks flung up by the tires. Do you think that’s a problem?

    • @CraigTaylorYT
      @CraigTaylorYT  7 месяцев назад

      Most boards I ride are without belt guards. If the dirt and rocks can get in there, I always think it’s best to leave it open so the stuff can get out again. The material these belts are made of should take a pretty decent amount of neglect. I’ve seen the Radium crew bombing dirt trails without any issues at all.

  • @Erroct1
    @Erroct1 7 месяцев назад +1

    Other than racing does a board like this really have a place in your quiver? Pretty huge, heavy and wide. For getting around really far maybe but I don't see this being a day to day board

    • @CraigTaylorYT
      @CraigTaylorYT  7 месяцев назад +1

      These were not made for racing. These were designed and made originally for general riding. The style was meant to be F1 inspired. Fr what I’ve been told, they are making a race version for esk8con for next year. Under foot, it’s not heavy, and it is the best riding board. There is definitely a place for it.

    What do you weigh?

  • @BlownMacTruck
    @BlownMacTruck 7 месяцев назад +2

    What is “low mode”? Are you talking about mode 1 on the Hoyt puck? FYI this isn’t the same as “gears” on most mainstream boards. Even in mode 1, it will hit top speed. The only difference between modes 1, 2, and 3, is that the puck will cap the max throw in 1 or 2 (mode 3 is full 0-100%). 2 will cap it around 66%, and 1 somewhere less (I never use 1).
    However just because the throttle throw is capped does NOT mean it won’t hit top speed. Due to the way VESC-based controllers process throttle inputs, all it does is effectively change the acceleration (though even that’s not entirely accurate).
    Think of it like this: often people (including racers) won’t use mode 3 because they rarely, if ever, shove the throttle to 100% and keep it there. That whole part of the throttle is basically unused. What they do instead is throw the throttle somewhere between 0-66%. So by using mode 2, they’re getting that entire 0-66% across the entire throttle, giving highly nuanced speed control. This is WAY better than most other remotes that just use “gears” as speed caps.

    • @CraigTaylorYT
      @CraigTaylorYT  7 месяцев назад

      You’re completely correct about the puck and the modes. The scaling of mode 1 is super comfortable to ride with for cruising. Mode 3 is all go. The intention of this board originally was an everyday rider, so that’s how I wanted to review it. Thanks for the concise feedback. Really appreciated.
