Hope you enjoyed the video! Keen to hear your thoughts :) BTW, I'm working on a cinematic A7SIII video and also a review of the Samyang 24-70 2.8, which should be coming out in the next day or two. This one was beautiful, really loved the way of storytelling, and your music selection. This video made a smile on my face. Great piece of ART brother..
Wow. So good and the sound design was on point. Just got this camera (also my first full frame) This has really inspired me. Thankyou and subscribed 👍🏻🇬🇧
Thank you so much! It really is an amazing camera, you will love it coming from the a7iii. I replaced my a7C (same camera basically as the a7iii) and the difference is night and day!
Really like the feel and tones of this shot film... What is the aspect ratio is it different than normal? I like how it goes edge to edge in RUclips just has a good feel to it. Immersive
The start and stop recording sound was such a nice touch :) Beautiful music as well. Absolutely loved it. Been meaning to do small short films like this form time to time. Think I'll give it a shot soon. Any tips for monitoring yourself to make sure you have good framing/focus? I got an external monitor, but wouldn't mind some tips as well.
Haha finally someone noticed! Thank you, I appreciate it! I have a monitor but it kind of annoys me sometimes, it’s bulky and it’s not the most colour accurate. So I actually just use the flip screen and rely on the autofocus and sometimes measure out manual focus. The easiest way to nail exposure is to use the built in gamma assist. The rest I just squint a little to see the LCD haha!
Love it nice work! I have the Air 2s and the a7 IV also what back pack is that your using it looks like you have everything in there? I have the Pro RC remote to that needs a little more space...
Lovely image, well done. What's your experience with the waterproof bag, any leaks? I have the item but am reluctant to use it under the surface with my FX3. I don't need to go deep, 1 meter max.
Thank you!! I got mine for free from a local camera shop, it was an ex demo model, so it had a slight leak on the seal around the lens cap threads and the plastic. But this was only if I pushed really hard under water to force air out. I would never go deep enough to reach pressures like that. So I just used marine grade silicone to seal it and I was good to go. No issues whatsoever. I’d happily take it 1m below. You should be 100% fine. The only thing I’d say is watch out for using VND filters, the polarising doesn’t work well with the glass/plastic of the lens cap, it creates that rainbow effect you can see in the first water shot. Otherwise your gear should be safe, just do your own waterproof checks beforehand.
Once you start seeing that muddy undetailed heavily noise reduced Sony look it's hard to consider one of their cameras. Perhaps the Samyang lenes are to blame but this looks exactly like an A7III. Maybe Pro Res raw will provide a less plastic looking image.
There's absolutely no noise reduction done on this video, shot with a diffusion filter at 800 native ISO. Perhaps you're getting the smooth and hazy look that a diffusion filter gives and 'muddy/plastic' confused.
So underrated content, loved the way you expressed emotions and feelings, followed you on ig and new subscriber, hope you can show us how to color grade

The Sony app works quite well, too. Not sure, but I think u can even pull focus with it. Nice video! 🤩
@@Skelm very nice video. And great idea with that camera sound! Loved it!
@@RobertMeyerOfficial Yeah the sony app is good in terms of features, just struggle with connection sometimes. But yep! You can pull focus
@@RobertMeyerOfficial Thank you! Got the idea at 1 am while I couldn't sleep haha 😂
That was absolutely beautiful mate!
thanks so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
Good sound and colors! Love it!
Thanks brother! Appreciate it! 🙏🏼
I am speechless, amazing work. How did you learn colour grading?
Thanks Theo! I'm far from being considered knowledgable at colour grading, I just expose my shots well and use a good rec709 conversion and LUTS
Woah, this is so good!
Thanks Austin!
Good job man, i like it so much.
Thanks bro! I’m really glad you enjoyed it!
Love it nice work! I have the Air 2s and the a7 IV also what back pack is that your using it looks like you have everything in there? I have the Pro RC remote to that needs a little more space...
Hey, I talk about it in my what’s in my camera bag video :)
Wow nice video when you shoot inside the water
My goodness this was so pleasing to watch and hear. Did you film all this alone? And where is this beautiful place??
Thank you very much! I did film this solo yes :) It’s a beach in Knysna, South Africa
Very good footage and sound design 👍🏻 I have the FX6 but your quality looks awesome 👏
FX6 is a beast! So hearing that is awesome! Thank you 🙏🏼
And thanks for noticing the sound design 😁
What’s your take on the Samyang I’m looking to upgrade the a7iv but I’m on a tight budget lmao
Samyang is great! I had some issues with the 24-70 but the prime lenses are fantastic

Great stuff man

Colour graded 🫡

Gracias Madison :)

What aspect ratio do you use to get the shot to fill up the entire screen like you did with this video?
3840 x 1634 AR 🤝

If you want cinematic - buy blackmagic. Sony looks DSLRrish
I'm quite happy with the Sony :) and this looks cinematic enough, but thank you for the suggestion
