I just want to say welcome to all the new people here, and thank you for all the nice comments!!! When I posted this short film, I had around 30 something subscribers... Y'all have blown this up more than I ever imagined 😅 I'm doing my best to respond to all the comments, but if I somehow miss yours, I'm sorry!! I do plan on posting more short films and video/photo related content to this channel, so If you've enjoyed what you have seen here, expect some more in the future! I have an Instagram (link in description) as well where I post a lot more often, so check me out there too :)
Really cool! I think creators often think that every project needs to be massive and a full on documentary but this type of short film would already be an enormous achievement. Keep 'em coming!
This was refreshing. While employing well executed camera angles and minimalistic music, an acute tension was achieved with interpretation to follow. Please soldier on and deliver more. Your craft will carry you.
A nice extra layer of icing on the beautiful cake you made, in my opinion, was to add a shadow approaching the ticket and then for us to see a gloved hand slowly picking it up in the very last shot.
dude.....well done...thanks for making a proper short film that looks amazing.. i'm tired for people using all sort of hooks to grab attention, and i feel so happy to see something classic keep it up.. subbed..
No worries! The way these tickets work is you have 7 winning numbers (2:30 timestamp), and you have to match any of the 7 winning numbers to the grid of numbers below, showing the prizes (2:40 timestamp). So in this case, at 2:30 timestamp it shows the number 35 as one of the "winning numbers" in the middle of the shot. Then at 2:40 timestamp it shows the number 35 in the grid, revealing that he actually did match the the numbers and won a big prize. But because he overlooked the ticket and threw it on the ground, he can't cash in his prize. I hope this made sense!
@@JacobToniolo Yes, it makes sense, thank you! I wish every time I had a question about a movie, I could get an answer straight from the director, just like that, hehe!
Excellent short! I like to keep track of the films that I've seen, but I didn't find it listed on IMDb. So I tried to add it, but didn't know enough details to let them know it was a new film with the same title as several others. Hope you will add it. All my best!
Incredible short film, the shots were so breathtaking, and the color grading was so crisp; what a frustrating thing to imagine dropping the jackpot. But I do have to point out the little things. The gas pump not rising in account to the $10, and the cashier putting all the money in one slot, rather than separating the bills according to the tender. Stupid things to point out maybe, but it's always the little details that make, or break an experience.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate your honest feedback. The gas pump not rising is kind of funny because I didn't even think of that screen showing until I saw it while editing lol. But it's all good, I've learned to really pick out the details in each shot to make sure everything is consistent!
I really liked it. The shots and the way they're framed are incredible. Coming back to short films for the first time 10 years after graduating from film school, I love watching what's being done by other creative minds !
Awesome job brother ! I just started my journey on making short films came across your page and love to watch other creators/ directors work to get inspiration myself !
Great short! But i was expecting to see the fuel meter change when the character started the pump. I thought it was going to be used as a timing device 😂
Good stuff! Reminds me of when i was a kid, walking home from school. I would always pick up old lottery tickets people littered in hopes of them missing something.😂
i super enjoyed the cinematography! i can see you put a lot of time an effort into it. Hope you keep creating, you have a bright future ahead of you :)
hey awesome feature! i have a question tho, i have the same camera sony a7 IV and I’m struggling to get the proper cinematic video settings. it would be soo helpful if you can share your video settings. thanks!
The visuals and the sound are defenetly awsome. Hard work was put in this short film. The story was just a tiny biut confusing at first but the final shot told + the shot where he gave all of his money gave the meaining. Good work keep going and you earned a follower.
Really enjoyed this! As an owner of an A7IV, how do you work around the rolling shutter? Starting on a documentary and I’m worried about that when I have to run and gun
Thank you! Honestly, I didn't really "work around it" lol. I just got lucky and none of the lights from the gas station made the rolling shutter. But don't worry to much about it. Worst case scenario, I've heard there's software in DaVinci that can fix pretty good.
Art is subjective interpretation is up to the viewer I know ppl always say the story but can we appreciate the visuals, the framing, color, and the composition of the video good job ✊🏾💪🏾

amazing film!!!
one thing I noticed, the gas meter didn't go up as you were filling the car while scratching the ticket
Great job!
Was wondering what coded this was shot in? HS S or S-I?

Sorry for the question, but I am not familiar with this type of ticket. How do we understand that this was a winning one and why he didn't?
