- I hope you enjoyed this short film! This was my final for my field production class in college. Our assignment was to tell a story with strong visuals and sound design, but without using any dialogue.

amazing film!!!
one thing I noticed, the gas meter didn't go up as you were filling the car while scratching the ticket
Really cool! I think creators often think that every project needs to be massive and a full on documentary but this type of short film would already be an enormous achievement. Keep 'em coming!
Thank you bro, and I agree with you! Definitely more coming in the future!
The shot of the ticket on the ground was my favorite. Keep it up!
Thanks!!
wow man, impressive. Low key a fear of mine is to throw away a winning ticket.
Thank you!! And I hope it never happens to you lol
Magnificent Production! From Camera Angles To Music And SFX... Just Beautiful ❤️
You just got a new follower buddy... Keep On Artist👏🏻
Thank you so much, that means a lot!
Phenomenal Production ... SFX towards the end was on point .
Thank you!!
dude.....well done...thanks for making a proper short film that looks amazing..
i'm tired for people using all sort of hooks to grab attention, and i feel so happy to see something classic
keep it up..
subbed..
haha I really appreciate that! And thanks for the sub!
DOPE!!
Wow! I liked it super cinematic❤💯
You snapped 😮💨📈

Wow❤
Great short!! I really like your talent. I hope to use this as inspiration for my next short films.
well put together so dope!!!!
epic shots and beautiful sound design dude! nice job!
Thank you so much!
@@JacobTonioloUnless you have a nikon d3300 from 2015 😔
Beautiful work! Looks like you have the same setup as me, gives me hope that I can make something like this one day. Keep up the good work!
Thank you!!! Just remember, its not the camera or gear that matters, It's how YOU use it!
Yo this is awesome! Love the sound and attention to detail. Amazing work
Thx sm!!!!
Sorry for the question, but I am not familiar with this type of ticket. How do we understand that this was a winning one and why he didn't?
No worries! The way these tickets work is you have 7 winning numbers (2:30 timestamp), and you have to match any of the 7 winning numbers to the grid of numbers below, showing the prizes (2:40 timestamp). So in this case, at 2:30 timestamp it shows the number 35 as one of the "winning numbers" in the middle of the shot. Then at 2:40 timestamp it shows the number 35 in the grid, revealing that he actually did match the the numbers and won a big prize. But because he overlooked the ticket and threw it on the ground, he can't cash in his prize. I hope this made sense!
@@JacobToniolo Yes, it makes sense, thank you! I wish every time I had a question about a movie, I could get an answer straight from the director, just like that, hehe!
Karma for littering.
Thanks @JacobToniolo for the reply.
This is awesome. Great work. Keep it up!
Thank you sm!
I enjoyed this! Well done 👏
Sound design is super interesting!! It’s like stop motion sound design I like it!
this is one of the best things i've seeen in a long time, makes me want to try my hand at shooting my own short film.
Go do it!
Excellent, lighting on point
Thanks! Shoutout to the gas station lol
Amazing work Man! Truly talented.
Thank you so much!
You are sooo talented! Thank you for amazing video, from Korea
AMAZING!!
MORE OF THESEE!!!!!!
👀
A nice extra layer of icing on the beautiful cake you made, in my opinion, was to add a shadow approaching the ticket and then for us to see a gloved hand slowly picking it up in the very last shot.
Right? That would of been a perfect ending.
This is 🔥🔥
The cliff hanger got me, this was amazing!
😁Thank you!
Great and well thought out💯🔥🔥
Mannnn seriously mind blowing this was
This was refreshing. While employing well executed camera angles and minimalistic music, an acute tension was achieved with interpretation to follow.
Please soldier on and deliver more. Your craft will carry you.
LITTTTTEEEERRRR
Haha, I thought of the same thing.
Voila! This is Amazing dude!
Thank you so much!
Keep being consistent bro it’ll pay off 🙏🏽
You went crazy on this, subbed 🔥
ayee thank you!
Incredible short film, the shots were so breathtaking, and the color grading was so crisp; what a frustrating thing to imagine dropping the jackpot. But I do have to point out the little things. The gas pump not rising in account to the $10, and the cashier putting all the money in one slot, rather than separating the bills according to the tender. Stupid things to point out maybe, but it's always the little details that make, or break an experience.
Thank you so much! I really appreciate your honest feedback. The gas pump not rising is kind of funny because I didn't even think of that screen showing until I saw it while editing lol. But it's all good, I've learned to really pick out the details in each shot to make sure everything is consistent!
I thought the same thing bro lol
I loved this, its so good
Thank you!
Really liked the lighting and focus racking
Thank you!
Gotta love algorithms. You deserve more subs, hopefully you get them all soon.
haha I appreciate it!

Awesome job brother ! I just started my journey on making short films came across your page and love to watch other creators/ directors work to get inspiration myself !
🔥🔥🔥
this is art bro good job
😲🔥
Good stuff! Reminds me of when i was a kid, walking home from school. I would always pick up old lottery tickets people littered in hopes of them missing something.😂
haha thank you!! Did you ever find a winning one!?
@@JacobToniolo Maybe a couple of 2 or 5 dollar ones. Not jackpots sadly 🙃
@@kylekert awww dang. I bet that was still exciting tho!
Wow…
Amazing Sounddesign 😮
Thank you! :)
this is fire
Nice work mate.
Well done, Jacob!
dude this is so sick!! sound design was MAD nice
haha thank you bro!
no way dude i used the same lottery ticket for one of my films too🤣 love to see it. awesome film
haha nice! I just watched your film, was very good!
Amazing job with the video and I love the colour grading 👏🏾. I just purchased the sony a7iii camera
Thank you!! I’ve heard good things about the a7iii !
The visuals and the sound are defenetly awsome. Hard work was put in this short film. The story was just a tiny biut confusing at first but the final shot told + the shot where he gave all of his money gave the meaining. Good work keep going and you earned a follower.
Thank you! I appreciate the honest feedback as well!
I really liked it. The shots and the way they're framed are incredible. Coming back to short films for the first time 10 years after graduating from film school, I love watching what's being done by other creative minds !
Thank you so much!
i love it.
Great work
very high quality. well done!
I appreciate it, thank you so much!
Amazing work!
Thank you! Cheers!
Very inspiring!
Amazing
Very nice short film!
very creative good job!
Incredible work. The cinematography and sound design are top notch.
Great work man!!
Thx!!!
Thank you so much bro love ❤️
Excellent short! I like to keep track of the films that I've seen, but I didn't find it listed on IMDb. So I tried to add it, but didn't know enough details to let them know it was a new film with the same title as several others. Hope you will add it.
All my best!
Thank you! I have never added something of my own to IMDb, but might give it a go now!
great job
That’s crazy to make a such an incredible short film like this and not have that many subscribers
hahaha I appreciate it!
quietness always making us 🙂 2:35 rilex
well done man!!!
Thank you!
wow awesome, i'll like to do this
Thx!
@@JacobToniolo where do you learned all that? I am starting by my way but i need more information
@@EloidelAmor Honestly, a lot of what I've learned has been from RUclips videos and self teaching myself lol. But just because you have learned something, doesn't make you initially good at it. So practicing the skills that you've learned is super super important. Also, finding inspiration online, like a RUclips creator that has a style you like or a movie/director you like, can be very helpful. I wish I could go into more detail, but there's just so much I could say that I can't fit into a single RUclips comment lol.
wow this is good.👍 keep it up with good work!
Thank you so much!
Oh, I think I know this gas station, is it St. Charles?)
I enjoyed watching it
Beautiful Work, the subtle sound effects make the difference, however I have some questions, did you film this in SLOG or normally and post colour grade it since my EOS R is so noisy doing CLOG in this sort of environment. What camera setting did you use to film/which lens, since I want to know how people achieve this low light goodness.
Thank you! I shot this in S-Cinetone (PP11), and color graded it in post. The lens I used is the Sigma 24mm-70mm f/2.8 Art. I filming with my aperture all the way open at f/2.8. The gas station was just light enough to where I didn't need to bump my ISO too much.
For best low light results while shooting on the a74 with good dynamic range would be to shoot in slog 3 while using a conversion lut and exposing your image using false colors on an Atomos monitor. Also try to keep your iso at 800 or lower to reduce noise, in some scenarios you may have to bump up the iso a little more than 800 but in this scenario, he could have probably got down to 400 to 640 iso to avoid clipping the whites. Slog 3 will have better highlight roll off than s-cinetone
which can also come off as more filmic looking than s-cinetone. But anyway, this short film was epic!!
@@braxtonwoullard1188 Thank you! I wish I was advanced enough to use slog-3, but I’m still learning! Lol
No problem, man! And yeah, slog3 can be quite difficult to use at first, but once you get the hang of it, you'll never use another picture profile on your Sony camera again.
I don’t get it.
He didnt notice he won, so, he lost one chance in a million feel me
He didn’t scratch the Jackpot Bonus section. The film maker leaves it open ended for us to interpret whether or not he threw away a $5 million ticket.
LMAO I JS SAID IT
Could’ve just scanned it
Crazyyyyyyy good stuff man. It really got me focused for some reason lol
lol thanks!
Definitely giving this a sub
I love Ratthew
same
great shots man
Thank you!
😮wow how to become your friend 😢
Nice work💪
Thank you!
This was beautifully shot dude
Thank you!!
I love it, very good job with the camera angles and the music, I am a student from Argentina and this inspired me a lot.
ayeeee thanks!
Good video! Which lenses did you use?
Thanks! I uses the Sigma 24-70mm ART lens
great thumbnail, and great video. From creator to creator this is a really good video
Thank you bro, appreciate it!
hey awesome feature! i have a question tho, i have the same camera sony a7 IV and I’m struggling to get the proper cinematic video settings. it would be soo helpful if you can share your video settings. thanks!
Hi! I shot S-log S-gamut.3Cine in 10-bit and 24fps
accidentally clicked this because my straw stabbed my mouth, feels like destiny
lol, hope your mouth is ok
This is why I have OCD about checking the tickets I scratch again and again to make sure I didn't just overlook something.
super cool i hope one day i can make videos like this
Thanks! You got this bro, I believe
This is what i pay my parents pay internet bills for, soon I'll be doing same brother
This is amazing work bro, you definitely have a new sub here, all 2024 i'm connecting with new creators, let build our community.
I appreciate it dude!
How do you make the smooth transitions when you switch angles on the video? What editing program do you use?
I edited this in Adobe Premiere Pro!
@@JacobToniolo any transitions or just let it play clip to clip
@@chrismccathern4653 Just clip to clip, didn't do any fancy visual transitions. Sound effect ques did help make the cuts seem smoother though!
Loved it man ❤️ tbh i loved lottery or gambling related stuff🤤
haha, glad you enjoyed it!
Great clip bro 🤝🏽 What software are you editing in?
Thx! I editing it in Adobe Premiere Pro
So where'd yall drop the ticket? Asking for a friend
