- Hey guys Welcome back to the channel. And this week I wanted To put Godzilla up Against Gamera once again but I wanted to use the latest Japanese interpretations being Godzilla Minus one and Gamera Rebirth respectively. Godzilla is a true force of nature while Gamera is truly indomitable in comparison, will he outlast minus one or will he just prove to delay the inevitable? We all know that between these two iterations, the fight would be pretty tight in who wins and who doesn't.
I believe the main issue was people claiming that Gamera would beat any iteration of Godzilla (specially Heisei and MV Goji) with what was shown on the Rebirth show, thankfully after that died down things were pretty chill aside from the occasional debate.
Gamera's fandom is pretty chill tbh.

I love the GAMERA videos and would like to see Gamera fight other kaiju than just Godzilla.
I would also love to see some power scaling videos and ranking videos on MOTHRA.

Seeing Gamera win against any Godzilla is great. I hope one day we get a film crossover between the two and Kong. Just seeing the three titans of turtle, dinosaur, and monke together in a one off 3-4 film series would be really cool.
Personally though I think a Gamera and Mothra crossover would be pretty cool. Especially seeing what original opponent Kaiju that could be made to face off against both of them.
I guess I would have to ask, since their films came out so close to each other could Rainbow Mothra and Gamera 3 Gamera face off and win against either Grand King Ghidorah or Iris or would it still be a stomp both times?

Gamera usually doesn't win the battles against Godzilla, so even as a Godzilla fan it's nice to see the Guardian Of The Universe get a W for once. Deserves it, after all Rebirth's a banger. The studio behind it were bringing their A game for the redemption arc of the century.

No this was about what was expected let's be honest. I am a massive Godzilla fanboy but even i am willing to admit when a version of the Gman is outmatched. As far as I'm concerned denying Godzilla's losses is more disrespectful to Godzilla than his opponent, we all lose fights including Godzilla that's just how life goes so instead of copping an attitude about Gamera winning how about y'all just wait and allow Godzilla Minus one the chance to grow not just in power but as a person.

Minus one may not grow or change his perception on the world but he can still absolutely grow his character and that is something the Godzilla franchise has been sorely lacking is character arcs. This is absolutely not satire I'm being dead serious Minus one can still grow as a person weather or not he becomes more or less evil. And don't even try to bring up how he can't change for the better Vegeta is a fine example of how a horrible person can change his ways. Really interesting matchup, minus one regeneration is busted but gamera has a good ammount of resources avaliable to pull off a win, much more interesting than big number wins the end

Gamera is canonically one of the smartest kaiju in the genre. It's capable of complex strategy and tactics and recognizing allies and enemies. He's up there with the Monsterverse kaiju in terms of intellect.
Heres an idea, a tournament of all the underrated kaiju (Gorosaurus, ebirah, maguma, gadgantuas etc.)
A tail wouldn't be a strength feat because it's more of a mass attack, he's turning around which forces his tail to turn as well and he uses momentum and the mass of his tail to deal damage. It's like the videos of people flicking massive chains and they make a loud cracking sound you know it would hurt if it hit you.

I think the best way to explain this would be to compare how they both respond to rapid compression and decompression.
Godzilla is nearly crushed and then nearly explodes from the inside out.
Gamera is completely unaffected.

I want to say one thing about your verdict that Gamera's big lazer would always kill him. I don't fully believe that. Remember all that Gamera had just gone through leading up to it. Had Gamera been in better condition, I think he would've survived shooting the beam. He likely would've been exhausted afterward, I grant you.

While shin's beam may not be as powerful as minus one, they still have the scaling to instantly kill gamera as well. Plus shin can charge up faster and use multiple at the same time. Shin will probably be more interesting than minus one
And if you do make this, can yoi acknowledge that shin didn't need to go into hibernate to recharge his beam in the last battle where they frost him?
Everyone seems to forget that after he ran out in the last battle, he still stayed awake and was able to use it again after a few minutes

How about Shin Goji from the Evangelion crossover (4D experience) vs Gamera (Rebirth)?
There is absolutely no way in which godzilla wins. Gamera is better in hand to hand combat, ranged combat, durability and speed. Even if godzilla could charge up his atomic breath (which he couldn't) he can only fire it in a straight line which Gamera could easily dodge. Gamera can use his fire balls to destroy all of minus 1s body easily.
Minus 1 is a brilliant movie but a character doesn't have to be strong to be good.

I think Minus One Godzilla would lose, more often than not, but regarding the plane situation, Godzilla was under the effect of rapidly being submerged into the depths of the ocean and then rapidly being brought back up. This is the only reason why his atomic breath killed him and why the plane crash blew his head off. Furthermore, he was charging his breath on the way down, which also means that all of that power was instantly suppressed inside of him, which further contributes to his downfall, but also contributes to his durability.

Given he can still attack and react to things in said rocket state I don't see why not.
I’m very shakey on this fight, though considering that Gamera would have to get right up close to Godzilla and charge up the fire hand, I don’t see why Godzilla couldn’t just tail swipe when he starts walking up with a glowing hand.
Honestly I see this fight going a couple of ways, nearly 50/50 though if it’s do the death, minus one is prolly taking that dub even if it takes a while since Gamera couldn’t put him down permanently unless he uses the suicide beam, in that case stalemate.

Honestly, I think it’s more 80% -20% split. Unless minus one gets lucky, Gamera has it in the bag. He’s got more durability, speed, physical power and intelligence.
Godzilla’s only chance at victory is his breath with gamera can easily dodge or interrupt and gamera just as so many ways to oneshot minus one.

I don't think the beam is as thin as you think it is, it left a hole in the moon that's width was visible from off of its surface. Which means that's like an entire landscape of space on some degree
