    Hello! Thanks for this video, very comprehensive.
    I would like to ask you, if I may, which shoe you would recommend between these two (Nike Air Max Bella TR 5 or Nike Legend Essential 2), I have tried to follow your directions but I am in doubt as to which one is more suitable for me. For training in the gym with weights consisting of fundamental exercises (such as squats and deadlifts) and complementary. I thank you in any case.

    • @thatfitfriend
      @thatfitfriend  2 года назад +1

      Hey! I actually don’t personally have experience with training in these models, but looking at the specs/construction and your context - I think the Legend Essential 2 would be the better pick between these two!

    Kinda late but I’m looking at this generation, I’m not worried about having the latest and greatest. I’m looking to get 2 pairs of shoes: a pair of elevated heel lifters like do-wins or legacy lifter 2’s for weight training as I do a lot of barbell work and am tired of converse, and a pair of cross trainers for everything else. Other than barbell weightlifting I will be doing accessory work with db’s and kb’s as well as running. Most I run is 2 miles at a time so not too worried about the cloudiest shoes since I don’t think that warrants as long distance. Out of these or maybe any others you could think of, which would be best for my needs. From video and online research I was leaning more towards the nano’s but wanted an expert opinion so to speak lol

    • @thatfitfriend
      @thatfitfriend  2 года назад +1

      Nanos work well, my friend! You could also explore STR/KE MVMNT Haze Trainer and the Metcon 7s. Those options will work for you!

      @@thatfitfriend first off thanks for the reply I greatly appreciate it, it’s not often creators reply especially not so far away from the post date lol. On looks alone I was leaning towards the nanos, visually I love the look of all the generations but was willing to sacrifice looks for function. I’ll definitely check into the others you suggested, thanks again!

      @@Gorillatartare Of course! It's funny, typically, I'm faster at replying but I try to limit my social media on Sundays to recharge for the week so I don't burn out.

      Check out the Nike Metcon 7 or 6, Reebok Nano X1, or UA HOVR Apex 3!
      They have heel to toe drops that should also feed decently well into your movement mechanics as described!

  • @krakatoasundra

    i currently wear the Reebok Speed TR Flexweave and Nike Metcon 4 XD. i do strength training, plyometric, functional, sprints interval and run distance up to 9 miles in them. i like them better than running shoes. sometimes, i would wear them for speed class instead of my usual cycling shoes. great shoes. cycling shoes work better, but these shoes are good.

    • @thatfitfriend
      @thatfitfriend  4 года назад +1

      The Speed TRs are insanely good and so fairly priced. They’re probably my fave hybrid shoe for their price point

    • @krakatoasundra
      @krakatoasundra 4 года назад

      @@thatfitfriend I would do all-out sprint agility workouts in these Speed TR Flexweave. These shoes are incredibly fast!!! I feel like i’m wearing track & field racing shoes or the NIke Zoom Waffle Racers. It makes feel like track athlete and i’m almost 50 years old. I would run Suicide workouts in an indoor basketball court or outdoors on asphalt. These shoes feel light, flexible, and fast. For the Suicide workouts, I would have 5 cones set 20’ apart for the length of the basketball court or slightly longer on the asphalt. Sprint to 1st, touch the ground and then sprint back to start line, touch the ground, and then sprint 2nd cone, touch the ground and then sprint to the start line. Keep repeating until I sprint to the 5th cone and sprint back start line and complete the 1st set. These shoes are super fast. Where it suffers is when i reach the cones and need to turn around and sprint back. These shoes have a large toe box and I feel like my feet are going slide out the side of the shoes. In comparison to the Metcon 4 XD which has a tight toe box and a sidewall, the Metcon XD feels more like tennis or basketball shoes and hold feet in. While the Metcon XD are better as a court shoe, it feels slow shoes on the straight away. Metcon XD feel heavier, and stiffer shank. Overall, it feels slow. I imagine the Metcon 6 and Nano 10 will feel like concrete cinder blocks on my feet because those things are heavy and stiff. To put it all in perspective, the Speed TR Flexweave feel like racing shoes and but racing shoe also has no lateral movement ability. Incredibly fast shoe. I love them. I’ll have to try the New Balance Minimus and New Balance Minimus Prevail one day. Those are really light and flexible shoes so they probably will feel fast. I also have to say these cross-trainers grip nicely on the hardwood floor of an indoor basketball court without leaving any markings on it but also work well asphalt.

      @@thatfitfriend Here’s an example of suicide sprints on the turf. They also run backward and backpedal like cornerbacks. I do that as well, but I normally backpedal first to the cones and then sprint forward to the start line. I do not use use the band as in these example because I natural running mechanics and refuse to any kind of intervention. These are a type of HIIT workout. You have to sprint at full speed. Accelerate as fast as you can and decelerate as fast as your can. ruclips.net/video/qDwjzbQAOkQ/видео.html

    What's a good shoe for lifting and trying to get the miles in, say 3 to 6 mile runs? Mostly 3 mile runs.

    • @thatfitfriend
      @thatfitfriend  3 года назад +2

      Good question - truthfully, a lot of cross-trainers will work for that task, but if you want to find something more specific, then I have a couple of questions!
      What are you wearing now (and do you like them)? How heavy are you planning to train?

    • @jeffthao7430
      @jeffthao7430 3 года назад

      @@thatfitfriend My feet takes a beating from kickboxing so it would be good to find something nice.
      But right now I'm wearing chuck taylors for my lifts or going barefoot. And I'm wearing adidas sensebounce for my runs. I like them both, but I would like to not have to switch shoes between workouts, ex. Lift in the AM, go to work, then run after work or vis versa. Don't want to have 3 pairs of shoes with me at all times. Lol.
      Plus I need something that will give me more grip for quick cuts and lateral movements on dry and wet pavements/grass, and not just in the gym.
      If I have to get one for specifically lifting and one for running, then so be it. Just thought I'd look around and ask.
      Sorry for the story.
