I never thought about a RUclips channel based around home gyms, but your content is so informational and helpful and its easy to tell you're passionate about it and what you say is genuine. Thanks👍
I swear this man is crazy, I was jus thinking about training shoes, and boom he makes a video😳 I think he’s unlocked abilities from all that training. (He’s reading minds now)
If you want to talk about training shoes, Gotta give a shout out to As Many Reviews as Possible Channel. He's been on that athletic shoe game for some time.
Vivobarefoot or xero shoes are a good middle ground. Minimalist shoes that are foot shaped to allow you to really use the mechanics of your foot. I love the idea of vibrams but I can’t get past the look of them either lol Edit: have been using minimalist shoes for 2 years now, I personally can’t go back to regular trainer shoes. Everything feels too stiff and cramped now lol.
@@RicoSuave1228 Fair enough! I've been wearing VFF for 10+ years but that's simply to distract people away from my face and lack of upper body muscle already haha.
I kinda have to agree with you. I used to have several pairs back in the days when it was popular before the lawsuit. Now I just use skinners. Looking to buy new training shoes in the future.
I love me my minimalist Merrell Vapor Gloves with the Vibram soles for everything training/exercise. Just when you’re sprinting outside don’t step on a rock!
I love my vapor gloves, I just use them for running because I want them to live forever. But yeah, I've fucked my foot up by steping on rocks while running.
@@evelioguaperas oh man I love them for lifting, plyometrics, sprints, sled pushes, shorter walks like shopping. I love using all those little muscles in my feet. Never tried them for longer runs not that I hardly ever do longer runs lol. How far do you run in yours?
Great review Coop. Thank you! The metcon 6 my foot was flopping around and I didn't feel at all secure which is needed for training. The Reebox Nano X was the winner for me.
I several Nanos, Reebok Powerlifters (look like a Chuck Taylor high top), Strike Mvmt, NoBull Runners and honestly the Speed Trs I have are great. Light, fairly sturdy, breathable. I took them on a trip to Disney World. Really an underrated shoe.
When a training shoe is over stiff, I wonder why not just get a weightlifting shoe. I do wish more shoe reviews would talk less about running, and more about agility workouts with cutting and pivoting.
Liking the new format good to hear alternative views. I built my garage gym taking on board some of your tips and tricks and saved me loads. My top on these wait till Metcon 7 released July and 6 will be discounted. Bless the first footers .
Second this. I've owned the 2nd and 3rd gen and much prefer them over my Nobulls. Also have the Hovr Rise 2 which I pretty much only wear for Murph style workouts.
When I first got the nobull trainers I was like wtf are these? After wearing them and breaking them in, they're super comfortable. Great for hiking/outdoors. I lift in notorious lifts and adidas powerlifts.
I've got Reebok Nanos and Nike Metcons. I can tell you that the Reeboks are a lot more durable and cost much less. The Metcon's look cooler, and are slightly lighter. But the Nikes wear out super quick.
The original 'training' shoe - Nike Air Trainer 1. The popular training shoe - Converse The classic - Onitsuka Mexico 66 The cardio bunny - Nike Zoom SuperRep 4 The RUclips influencer - Xero Prio Please add to future reviews ✌️
I was really hoping that innov8 f-lite 235 as one of the original CrossFit shoe would have made the list for comparison. They have been edged out in popularity with all the choices but wonder where they rank in categories like running or all around training. Otherwise not surprised by the results. I think Nano and Metcon dominate- at least my box is an indication of those. I recently tried NoBulls and am a converted fan. I like that they feel slimmer, more minimal and lighter than the Nike/Reebok ubiquitous choices.
Here is a fun fact for you Coop. I am an Athletic trainer and for about 10 years I have watched athletes come in with shin splints due to training and mostly running in Nike Frees. The flexibility allows the foot to flex and stress the arches. If you run and train regularly bare foot or similar shoes your not going to be as affected of course. I see more less experienced people choose these shoes for comfort not function because of that sock like feel.
No Bull are my favorite shoes. Reason, serving in the military I collapsed both my arches and they are the ONLY shoe that does not cause pain in my feet…I only wear No Bull and old man crocks 🤣🤣🤣
I have the metcon 6’s and nano 9’s and I love both but my nanos win all day. I’m also not a cross fitter. So take that into mind. I will not ever run in my metcons. I think they are way too stiff and the heal is too pronounced. The nanos are a wide foot persons dream! When my nanos die, I will for sure replace them with a new version.
Gone back and forth between metcons and nanos over the years. Decided to try nobulls and I'm hooked after over a year of use. I like the style and overall comfort and they are still running strong after 4-5 gym sessions per week. My girl got the new nano xi and returned them after one workout due to rubbing she talks about at 6:00. Ended up causing her to bleed from blisters which got on the shoes. After that happens, they generally can't be returned either. GF got lucky.
Interesting how you guys chose the HOVRs over Under Armour's actual training shoe, the Tribase Reign. They have come a long way since the first iteration and actually compete with the top players right now.
My wife ended up with the Nano X that she found on sale for $50 and she says they’re awesome! I’m definitely looking to get a pair and they look sweet too. Maybe Metcon’s… ordered some a few years ago but the run a tad large.
Hey Coop, really enjoy your content. If you get a chance maybe you can do a review of training shoes that are made in America to piggy back off of buying gym equipment from the USA. Keep up the good work.
I got the X1s as I'm in love with my Nano 9s... but they ripped my achilles within my first hour of wearing them with ankle socks. I've been too traumatized to give them another go. I'm going to try again with taller socks!
I purchased the Reebok nano X a month ago and I think they are a great training shoe. The stability for squats and the oly lifts is great and the wider toe box is comfortable. I may have to try the Nano 11 next.
From people I know who have the nano 11 they are terrible for lifting. For everything else they’re good but for lifting they are terrible. The complete opposite of the nano x
One shoe better than all those vivo barefoot. I got the primus lite 3s. Thank me later stop training in running shoes you feel so much more with barefoot shoes I was alittle iffy on mine but once I got them I fell In love
I have metcon6 but mine don't look like thoses....they say fly ease on the side and have a hard plastic thing the goes up the back on the shoes that says "step"
If you ever do a Powerlifting shoe. check out the Notorious Lifts Sumo Sole slippers.. theyre incredible. I train all 3 lifts with them.
