I know running shoes and consider my self a semi-expert in that regard. But this guy knows his training shoes, seriously next time I'm in the market for a pair, i'll at least follow his recommendations, try the top 2 or 3 he recommends and buy one if not directly buying his top pick. These vids are good, very insightful.
Totally agree. I’ve been a Nike guy ever since the og metcon 1’s. Took a chance with the haze trainers after your review and I was blown away. Easily the best pair of training shoes that I’ve owned!
I work on my feet most of the day, and I like to hit the gym right after work. Would you recommend the Haze Trainers as a shoe that I can stand in all day at work and be comfortable? And also go workout in them after work? I was going to buy two different pairs of shoes for work and for gym, but If I can knock out two birds with one stone that would be great lol.
Either would be fine, just depends on preference. For sheer comfort it would be the 260, but strikes aren’t too far behind if you wanted the edge on working out. My pick would be the haze.
Your video has me intrigued about the Haze trainers. I've been looking for a shoe suitable for the new ACFT, CF shoes are good for all the events except the 2 mile run. In your opinion how do the Haze trainers fit in comparison to Altras or Nike Metcons? I'm thinking of just getting my normal sizing? I watched your full review and still wasn't sure.
I ordered my Haze Trainers true to size. (11, same size as my Metcon 3’s) For me, at first the toe box felt a little constricting (not width wise but with the low profile of the toe box) compared to my Metcon 3’s or my brooks ghost, but after wearing for a few training sessions they fit perfectly. Highly, highly recommend them.
Good video broski. I bought the nano 8 based off of your recommendation a couple of years ago and looking for a replacement. Is there anything like the nano 8 in terms of breathability, lightweight-ness (is that a word) and no/low drop?
@@AMRAP lol you really need to go back to school if you think it’s a good idea to encourage people to deadlift in 8+ drops. Can’t wait for your next super up-to-date videos on shit like bro splits and the best ways to get impingement.
@@JohnnyFiction is it ideal? No. Is it doable? Yes. Higher drops don't mean you can't deadlift in shoes. There's more to that makeup of a training shoe than it's drop. They're made for all aspects of training - including deadlifts. None of these have soft midsoles and are all designed to be lifted in. Furthermore, if you're worried that 8mm is going to make you miss a deadlift - you probably wouldn't have hit that weight in the first place, should probably just work on your deadlift and stop worrying about your shoes.
Hi Joel! Thanks for your great reviews. I have a question regarding the size of the Haze Trainers: I always used nanos (4 to 8) with a size (EU) of 44.5, which fit perfect for me. Which size would you recommend for the Haze? Many thanks in advance!
I recently started training in the Whitin knit barefoot sneakers and I love them. I generally stick to powerlifting/bodybuilding movements but I've also taken them on short runs. Wide toe box and a flat sole have become the most important part of shoes for me in the last year so I'm a little biased. I'd love to get a pair of Vivo's too but the price point is a little much for me right considering how I'm going to beat them up.
Nobull trainers are the same exact shoe they updated in 2016. The whole training space has evolved and gotten better. This is a list of the shoes from 2021, but even if it was an all time list, I'm not even sure they'd be in the top 20.
1: Strike Movement Haze Trainer
2: Nike Metcon 7
3: GoRuck Ballistic Trainer
4: Innov8 F-lite 260 v2
5: Reebok Nano 11 Froning
Runners-up: Puma Fuse, UA Tribase Reign 3, Nike Metcon Turbo
We are still here Joel! Here for the 🐐! Thanks!!

Strikes FTW! Love it
Haze trainers are my favorite training by a long shot!
Super versatile and most comfortable training shoe I’ve used by far.
Awesome man looking forward to all your new content in 2022!
My personal pick is Nike Metcon React , its little bit comfortable for my foot compared normal Metcons
Haze Trainers have my attention. Any discount codes for Strike Movement?
for plantar fasciitis sufferers, what shoes are suitable, on the one hand it needs tenderness in the heel, on the one hand it must be stable
Cutting it close Joel
sadly there’s no strike mvmnt here in the philippines

They would be awesome for that
Can you recommend a good pair of trainers for Zumba and HIIT classes. UK here
Awesome video
Question; if you were coaching 4 classes back to back and working out after which shoe would you pick, the 260’s or the haze?
Oooh great question - I’d like to know that too.
I’d think it’s workout dependent and it even may include switching shoes
Either would be fine, just depends on preference. For sheer comfort it would be the 260, but strikes aren’t too far behind if you wanted the edge on working out. My pick would be the haze.
which would you choose between metcon 5 6 7 ?
Depends on the workout but probably 7 overall

They fit pretty similar to Metcons, probably closest to Metcon 4. Size them true to size.
@@AMRAP thanks!

@@connergerry6259 thank you, hoping they get the black ones in my size back in stock, don't love the grey

Yo, try out the Inov8 flite 235v3. A couple years old but it’s the closest shoe to Nano 8 to come out. Even metcon5/6 are pretty similar.
@@AMRAP thanks man, I'll try them out
Anyone who's deadlifting in the shoes you recommended with 8 drops or more is honestly being mislead, because that is not smart
Shut up. You can deadlift in anything.

Sorry for the delay, I would go with the 44.5...they fit similar to nano 4,6,8
Thanks Joel! 🙏🏻
How do the haze trainers size? I wear a 10.5 in metcons and 10 in nanos. Appreciate the video!
I would size them like your Metcons!
@@AMRAP good to know. Thank you for the reply. Just need to wait until they get back in stock lol

Are those metcons custom?
No, these are the made for sport colorway
nintendo power nice
What about no bulls and nano x1?
Neither are better than any of these
@@AMRAP great response.
My most comfortable shoes are the Adidas Ultra Boost 21.
What about nobull trainers??

Metcon 7 yes….no NOBULL? Thank you for not including this years Reebok…hot garbage
If it was 2015, they probably would be there.
The Inov8s are just ugly as hell. I hate the look of them. They look like trail shoes, or barefoot trail shoes
