Mirror and/or dry erase board?
UNDERRATED
I write on my laundry machine, it's a great surface!!!!
Laptop, I like to see progress 😅
Posters of arnold EVERYWHERE
Phone > Dry erase board. Mirrors are a must though
Resist bands and Olympic rings are now half my home gym.
Those would be gym equipment tho
@@kyleallen7383 hence the need for less stuff
Resistance bands won't do much in terms of building size... js
@@stansmith5610 If you have many kinds of resistance bands that is simply not true.
I have a no outdoor shoes rule in my garage so have dedicated indoor trainers to help keep clean and tidy
For those of us that don't want to dedicate an entire garage or basement to the gym, room dividers/partitions are important. Having a space that is just dedicated to the gym has certainly helped me focus. I would love to see GGR's thoughts on easy and effective ways to partitions spaces (curtains, frames walls, etc.).
Sliding screen door! Absolutely my favorite purchase. It keeps out bugs, leaves, debris, adds a little privacy so my neighbors don't try and start up a chat with me mid workout. I can still slide it over to one side and pull my truck in too. Everyone in my neighborhood in FL has them, I'm the only one with a garage gym.
Moved from FL to NC 2 ish months ago. Back in Florida for the holidays. Sliding doors are essential if you live near the coast.
8:43 They stick on so well.......LOL
The leaf blower is something I use CONSTANTLY. I was cracking up when you pulled it out because you're so right.
A refrigerator is one that is useful in a home gym detached from the house. Great to store bottled water, post workout shakes, etc.
😂
felt underlayment for when you workout in basement and want to put something between horse stall mat and wood flooring.
In terms of the garage door opener, you can do what I did and the super cheap route. I removed the automatic opener and it’s only a manually opening door. So no more center track!
This was a great one!! Enjoyed it and I need to level up my garage gym! Mirrors should have been on the list.
Sidemount garage door openers, unbeatable change to any garage! Also more secure!!
Wall mounted fans and good lighting. Very important for me.
I'm surprised that I haven't seen anything about garage door insulation from Coop. Maybe I'm missing something from the past but a roundup on all the insulation options would be very valuable to a lot of people
I agree. Insulating my door was an absolute game changer.
If you go to Kristi Eramo's RUclips channel, her husband Pat showed how to do the install one or two winters ago. Pat use to work construction before they opened their gym with Kristi's parents so his explanation of the install is extremely good.
@@albertfischer8804 I looked at their channel and searched "garage door" but I only found their window installation video. With that in mind, I also have a different style door from them as my door has a front panel hiding the tracks on the door. If I had that style of door, I would use polyisocyanurate panels like in this tutorial from Mr Fred’s DIY Garage School in this tutorial ruclips.net/video/pvi8__d081I/видео.html
Without the tracks to use as guides it's just a little more DIY than I'm comfortable with right now
@@Frandicap Sorry it wasn't what you were looking for. Good luck finding what you need. There is nothing quite like the joy of having your home gym exactly the way you want it.(Have a great weekend.)

Whiteboard and mirrors?
yeah, I personally use my mirror as a dry erase board
Mirrors are essential
The adjustable box squat as a work desk is killing me lol awesome
One piece you guys are missing is a dry-eraser board. that is a big must-have!
Yea I love mine. Use it all the time.
Corkboard or easels work great for the same purpose as well, depending on your preferences
Always great stuff! Love the content! Thank U!
Coop, love this video. These are always helpful. I also like the videos when you tour other home gyms and see different ideas. Keep up the great work!!
A broom stick. Actually i use a 180cm (6') oak dowl that is a bit thicker 28mm.
Give it a light sand, chamfer the ends and give it a coat of linseed oil and/or bees wax.
Great for shoulder mobility, weightlifting drills, and to balance with when doing singke leg calf raises etc.
You'll be surprised how often you will use it and how much like it.
I use a dowl to anchor my feet when doing seated overhead press. I sit it on top of my Rogue squat stand base, then use a pair of 45 pound plates to hold it down. This gives me an inch of space to slide my toes under. Hard to explain, but works great.
I love how you are using the Titan "ultimate plyo box" as a desk in your gym.
With the extra horse stall mat material that I didn’t use for my basement gym floor, i laid it in the bed of my pickup truck. I also use a pile of horse stall mats in the guest bedroom as a bed. 😂
That is one heavy bed
Huge fan of the show! Always providing top notch content. Did you build your deck in your gym yourself? Super dope!
I've started watching your videos recently as im in process of building my own garage gym now. I would add a wall clock as as an essential non gym equipment...unless it falls into essentials in your view, also some motivational quotes on the wall would be a nice non essential in my view, greetings from Poland!
Love this. nice work here.
Dope vid Coop !
i like the cooling/heating one. i'm installing my own mini split, do have the option for window units but opted for split. heat i have a gas heater in there already.
storage is such a personal and space/layout dependent thing: some like pvc sticking up for plates (i saw a cool one with that on a roller cart), some like wallmounted, some like weight racks, somelike smaller form factor like wallmount racks and adjustable gear... etc
I don't know about in the US but the Koda Shop Light from Costco is unreal. 10/10 recommend.
your channels awesome... great mention on the phone case
only thing i might add is a candle or bug net for your doors lol
12:54 "Use the gym for more things"...*like parking your car?*
Had to re route the Dryer vent into the garage so it vents the heat out there, So whenver its cold in my garage gym, I throw the dryer on. It gets nice and warm quick.
Woah, that's a pro-tip.
Can you do a review on sound dampening panels that hang on the walls? So we aren’t waking the family up early in the morning.
Lights are always a pain. Glad you covered this
A fridge is a good one, so you don’t need to go in the house for cold water, protein shakes etc. I have a second fridge in my garage which is also my garage gym, so it wasn’t for the gym setup just for normal garage stuff, and a mini fridge is a nice thing for the gym side too.
But my garage doesn’t have a connecting door, so it’s less of a thing if you don’t have to leave the gym, walk through rain in the garden into the house into the kitchen just to get a cold drink.
Or a thermos would do the same I guess, keeping your fridge-cold water fridge cold by the end of your workout.
This was great. Garage Gym Reviews, how about a top 10 video like this for OUTDOOR GYMS.
A bike rack for plate storage. Works really well
I use a *hand held vacuum* constantly for the little cleanup .. shop vac for the big cleaning.
Coop, for the case try magbak! literally the best case I ever had that thing has strong magnets
What about mirrors? Any recommendations?
Coop, how about a head phones comparison? I workout in the basement in the early morning so headphones/ear buds are a must.
To keep logs from my set, I use also a witeboard with magnets, this change the game :)
Cool idea for a video! ♥️💪🏋️
Lolol I legit sometimes put garage gym reviews on the TV while lifting for extra hype 😆
Also love my boi Mr tell it like it is jonni Shreve
For use basement gym bros a hygrometer and a dehumidifier is essential. I learned the hard way that unheated basements and adding moisture from sweating and breathing 6 times a week for 2 hours each leads to mold. That can turn into a serious long term health hazard.
Add a condensate pump. Best thing ever!
@@glennpalmer3991 solid idea, but because the house consists of apartments, the basement units do not have drains. Also, running the dehumidifier for 2 to 3 hours on a timer every 1to 2 days is enough to keep humidity in check (concrete basement)
Mini fridge and hot/cold water dispenser is crucial 😊
Check out the MagBak phone case; it's got great magnets and I can throw it on any rack and machine in the gym and it holds no issues.
some more ideas: a water tower, round timer (okay maybe that's gym equipment), alexa or other smarthome hub for asking random questions or to act as a timer, a whiteboard, and my favorite - a sofa for just chilling in your man cave when the workout's done :)
I didn't like the round timers I could find, so I got me a magnetic electronic egg timer instead. Works well enough for tracking rest between sets, though for heavy boxing bag work it definitely leaves a little to be desired
White board! Use mine everyday, 1/2 the board is for my kids WOD and the other 1/2 is my WOD.
Gym clock, I find it a must to keep me on track.
PLEASE COOP! You should review the best adjustable Barbells on Amazon!
Another good lighting option is the connectable lights from Harbor Freight.
Horse stall mats FTW. cheap, easy to cut to size if needed. I got 4x7 mats from my local farm store. The other tip: Get the heavy duty Gorilla tape and run it along all the seams. Makes it look nicer, and keeps them from creeping around over time. I taped mine a couple years ago and haven't had to touch them since.
Why not tape the undersides as they are being installed rather than taping the top seam?
@@StormGod29I’m thinking it’s likely because if you ever wanted to move them or convert your garage, bedroom, or whatever back to a normal room that tape would be a nightmare to try to get off the subfloor. Just a guess though
@@DrWarBear Sorry, I meant tape the under sides of the mats to each other not tap them to the floor/subfloor.
lets not skip over the gun attachment on the wall storage at 3:59 thats badass
Coop, best phone case and strongest magnet is magbak
Coop, can you do a video for 10 home gym interior designs.
I see the next episode of Hoarders coming! Coop, this is an intervention. 🏋🏽♀
What about a towel?
Good video! Happy to see that gladiator rack from one of your earliest videos I rewatched a few days ago. I like when more accessible items are shown. Huge FOMO and spending urges are a common thing when watching Coop or others online. I really enjoy when the videos are varying from high-end top of the line to decent for general health oriented users.
I stopped running after numbers and just really enjoy maintaining and challenging myself occasionnally, so too much out of reach items are not as interesting for me. Versatility, and variety in working out and training is what make the fun for me.
Hey Coop! What’s that rectangular diamond plate attached to your storage shelf? Is that a medball target? I’m looking for some sort of rack attachable medball target and that may solve my problems.
Another great place to go for inexpensive lighting is Harbor Freight.
72 degrees.... I don't even keep my house at that. 65 degrees in my house in the winter. And now at the new house I'll open the door to my attached garage (which I've never had before) and turn on a small space heater I have in my gym in there and it'll get up to 55-56.... and that's warm enough for me. I'll usually wind up having to take my long sleeve shirt off I'll get too hot. I feel like that's pampering myself as my last 2 homes had unconditioned detached garages and in the winter it would get down to the 20s in there and in the summer I'd be drenched in sweat as it would be about 100-105 in there. Now.... my attached 2 garage.. err... gym stays between 50 and 85 degrees year round.
Heated garages are the best. Water coolers or mini fridges also rock.
Not for everyone but my apple tv has been a friggin god send for me. To have beats fit pro in conjunction with the apple tv allows me to have the reassurance I can watch movies/shows while I workout early in the morning without waking my wife and toddler upstairs while they sleep 🤘🏽
Check out the rokform magnetic phone cases. Super strong magnets.
The whole vacuum section had a lot going on 😂😂
Mini splits have a low temperature at which they will be efficient. They are a heat pump. At a certain temp you should get a fireplace and just burn money.
Coop, what hooks do you recommend for the metal pegboard? Most I'm seeing are metal that would rub against a lat pulldown bar knurl.
Timer with magnets in it to time rest periods etc.
Thanks alot. Now I am spending a grand on a side jack garage door opener. I am going to send you the bill
What about gym mirrors? Any kid working out products or any attempt to baby safe a gym?
Mirrors! Form check and vanity purposes!
I wanna see Coop reviews MTBs
Need to do a spare parts uses. I have allot of parts laying around that I’m making a Frankenstein storage rack with.
If you like the magnet phone case, check out Rockform, best magnet phone case on the market and it holds, I've put it on my fuel tank of my motorcycle going 120mph and it didn't budge!!!!!!!
Coop, what's that rack attachment to hold a barbell upright in the shot when you were talking about the Sonos speakers? Let me know, I need one desperately. Thanks brother.
Search for rack mounted vertical barbell holder. You'll probably find it
Do you have the link for lights you used in Sam’s garage?
What is the desk at the end?
I know I’ve been watching the channel for a while when I can guess half of the list without watching the video 😂
How much does the mini split cost to run in the winter?
Broom stick. Great for stretching
Lights, camera and video. If your coach is remote or if you’re like me and you do a lot of self coaching you need to be able to take responsibility high quality videos. One of those tripod ring light things can go a long way.
Bruh- those intros and outros are fire
Pauses video and immediately runs to Amazon store to buy 20 magnetic storage hooks
hahaha me too, 20 magnetic hooks on the way!
The unit outside is the condenser coop and the air handler is what you had hung up inside the garage on the wall, come on man. Fellow home gym owner here and as an hvac tech you disappointed me coop ☹️ lol all jokes aside great video!
Great video, but I think the audio is only playing through the left side
A tape measure so I can cram more equipment in my garage
Can you talk about videographer that’s important when they do videos how much and can people Afford to hire one
Ugh black Friday is really gonna hurt my bank account
More about how you clean the gym please
Anyone know what Coop uses the what looks like a wall ball target (but it isn't very high) for that is on the storage rack to the left of the center mass bells?
That looks like a 50lb plate for a weight vest.
@@rgh622 It is a wall ball target. Coop uses it in the dream rack video 6 months ago.
"If you don't like to blow and prefer to suck"
From"Cox" reels
- Coop from Garage gym reviews, 2022😄
How are you hanging your steel clubs?
Link to those magnetic hooks?
Need pt.2
I wish they would review leg equipment
lol just got my leaf blower a couple days ago
What kind of desk is that?
Use a smart speaker to time cardio workouts and control music and fans.
Please rank the best functional trainer of 2022
it's less of a leaf blower and more of a spider blower. gotta purge the pesky arachnids from the corners every now and then.
