To be honest, i bought "dumb" equipment on purpose. C2 rower and ski, rogue echo bike and a Taurus Run X (similar to the assault runner). No powercord, no electricity bills, no monthly subscription fee and nothing needs an update when i want to do my workout.
Yeah it’s really nothing to innovate at this point
A barbell is a finished product. No ned to invent any more
Exactly. The C2 doesn't need updating. Professional athletes and rowers use it just fine. Don't really know what Coop's getting at. I don't want more tech for the sake of "innovation". Simple works best.
@@cherries4life387 yeah I love my bike erg
@@cherries4life387 I think coop just needs new stuff to review
Thanks for the mention Coop! Let's figure out how to get you some of our equipment to check out. I think you're going to love them.
I was surprised by the Voltra. Thought it would be gimmicky, but I could see this replacing my selectorized pull down/adjustable cable machine. Biggest downside is the cost however.
Yeah I’d love for something like this to become cheaper than the likewise weight stack pulley tower.
I.e BOS weight stack cable pulley tower at $1129
If they could get this down to ~$800 I’d cave. I think they realistically can when there is more competition.
For now; plate loaded for me.
Would love to see a review. Of course nobody can know but the real sticking point for me would be longevity. Like I'd happily buy 2 for the low footprint versatility but I think a selectorized stack is more or less guaranteed to last (or easy enough to repair) decade+.
Your oak club collab handles would be great hosts for the voltra w/bar mount - you should hook up a partnership there
Surprising me too, but I did have really low expectations. - Coop
The other downside that I haven’t heard anyone consider about the Voltra is what happens to the serviceability in the event Beyond Power doesn’t exist in 5 years. Lithium ion batteries will degrade and need replacement, it’s just a matter of when. They shared with me in response to my query, that the battery pack is replaceable but made from proprietary components and parts. Good for the short/medium term but if the company goes out of business, it seems like it would be impossible to get a replacement battery pack. Unlike a cable stack (for example my Rogue CT-1 that I am strongly considering swapping with the Voltra), I’ll really never have to worry about non-availability of parts to fix. That said, still strongly considering swapping but this issue (at $2500 for 1 or $5K for 2) gives me pause.
I appreciate you talking about these smaller and more innovative companies. As a person with a RML that I’ve had for 7 years, I’m locked into the 3x3-5/8 ecosystem, but I’m not convinced the Rogue is always the first place I should shop.
One thing I’d love if you added in your reviews of rack attachments is a 30-sec to 1-min summary of what racks an attachment is fully/partially comparable (minor DIY, shims, drilling, etc.). I hate not knowing if pegs/holes will align with my rack, if the attachment is a “true” 3x3 or a “thin” 3x3, cross-members will interfere, etc.
Also, please do a video dedicated to proven and safe DIY solutions to mixing ecosystems, and what to consider when mixing attachments on your rack. This could even be a multi-part video for simple, moderate, difficult DIY solutions.
Been commenting telling coop to do reviews on lying leg curl/leg extensions combos for 6 months now and the words lying leg curl/leg extensions combo have finally came out of his mouth. Really excited for 2024. Keep up the great work!
Incredible video. I love this format. Quick update home gym world stuff. I really enjoyed this video.
PRX Fully Adjustable Jammer Arms with built in functional cable system. Did anyone else see this when Coop visited?!!
Yep, forgot to mention those. Definitely agree. - Coop
When I saw it my mouth fell open! Lol
That's exactly what I've been waiting on to be released. I was really expecting to hear Coop mention that in this video.
Rogue are resting on their laurels right now. Agreed they need to kick into the innovation. They are balls deep into these huge Invitational events.
Regarding the C2 row erg, I just want to see someone develop a peloton style viewer for it.
Yea Rogue feels like they've gotten way too complacent at the top. And I really hate the old 80s Timex-style screens on the C2 equipment. They really need to jump into the 21st century with at least the option to upgrade to a better screen.
Like Nike, not really innovating, just signing big athletes like Lebron.
Looking forward to the Rep Arcadia review! And the Adonis looks great, I wonder what price it will be? Rep are doing great things at the moment, especially love the new functional trainer with storage.
I want a rep fitness selectorized leg extension/curl so bad 😫
we can offer you
Hey Coop! FYI - the Eleiko Prestera Smith Attachment does fit the REP PR-5000 93”. Just so you know. Got one in my 8-post rack. With an Athena. Just so you know.
I ordered the Bullet proof VTS rack attachments to put on my rogue power rack. Excited for this. I also hooked up the Athena plate loaded to my rogue rack. Like Coop said Rogue is falling behind and I'm just lucky Rep works on this rack
+1 on the smith machine. I bought one for my wife, and I've ended up loving it. I use it to finish every chest and leg workout. Slow, controlled, to failure... great burn 🔥
Yesssss. More leg extensions and curls machines!!!!!
4:30 I actually just got a Syl Fitness attachment set for a normal rack that basically adds smith machine functionality to the rack. I haven't used it yet but feels solid enough for what I need to do.
A selectorized leg extension/leg curl combo machine is SO overdue. 100% agree. I have been looking at commerical equipment and getting pretty dismayed. That Bells of Steel unit looks fantastic.
Would love to see a review of the REP Wall Mounted Athena. This is at the top of my list for a space saver setup.
Voltra is a GOAT tier piece of equipment. Pricey but so damn good.
The C2 is perfect, it is impossible to beat or to be updated
Agree but for casual users you could get a screen for group workouts and virtual races like zwift
Screen should be more in tune with modern 2024 standards, would cost more to add one
Rogue needs to step their game up! I have a garage gym and it was built during peak pandemic. Most of my stuff are from Rogue - based on my reading and FB group inputs they were known as the gold standard. Back then, Rep and Bells of Steel were just gaining momentum. Now, I wish I could’ve went with Rep or Bells of Steel because of very little innovation (if any) from Rogue to accommodate the dynamic home gym demand.
I had people compliment me on my gym and ask for recommendations/ input about building garage gyms, and I always tell them if I can go back in time…… I wish I could’ve went with Rep! And a couple of my friends actually went with Rep taking my suggestion.
Rogue has been disappointing in terms of giving us garage gym owners new innovative products.
Rogue already offers pretty much everything
Same here. Looking at the Athena/Ares I wish Rogue had something comparable to fit into my RM-3. Or that I had gone with a Rep rack.
I just got a concept 2 bike erg and I have to say I like it way better than the xebex bike I had. The quad pump on the concept 2 is a lot better than the xebex. I guess it has to do with where the pedals are placed in relation to the seat.
Just completely renovated my garage and was ready to buy a rack with functional built in (going back and forth on Athena and Ares) but the announcement of the Adonis has had me delay pulling the trigger. If Coop has great things to say about the Adonis when it comes out, I will get it along with the wall mounted Athena. I'm all in on Rep currently, love what they are doing.
Agreed. Rep is top of the game right now. Ahead of Rogue simply because of the innovation.
As good as the Adonis might be, nothing seems as versatile as the Athena. That’s what I have and it’s been an awesome piece of equipment that I’m still adding new functionality such as belt squat, rope climbing, and forearm training.
you're awesome my man. If I didn't live in the city, and had a garage of my own, you would be my body business colleague. Nobody does it like you, and thank you for what you do.
Since you are having problems maxing out the Prime fitness HLP single stack on low rows, what you can do is use the rogue monster slinger solo pulley and attach the cable to the 1to1 lat pull down cable. Making your rows 1to1 and utilizing the full stack. Would love to see a review on this too.
You don't want competition for the Concept2. The C2 is the way to go. The ability to rank yourself against other C2 users utilizing the free online logbook is invaluable. Free WODs, free challenges, free rewards, international competition. You don't get that with other rowers, and if you do they'll prob charge a subscription fee.
I say bring on the competition. The C2 Stuff will stay as good as it is, I have the rower and the Skierg and couldn't be happier. Competition helps push companies forward, so why not?
I completely agree with you
@Darkstar1609 I bought the skirow machine. 2 machines in 1. Is it as good as concept..no. but it's still a really nice machine that is great for row and ski.
I pre-ordered that VTS. Looks dope!
Dialed Motion! Coop, this needs your attention and review, space save and effective
4:27 is why I'm into the Costco Centr functional trainers. Smith machines and dual weight stacks at a crazy good price.
Im with you i want the Sorinex Leg Curl/ Leg Ext so bad!
Interested in seeing reviews for:
1) Ancore Pro (updated version)
2) Exxentric KPulley Go
3) Flywheel comparisons (Exxentric vs. Kynett, etc.)
4) Sandbag Roundup (Rep, Ultimate Sandbag Training, Brute Force, etc.)
5) North Gym adjustable Kettlebells
6) Adjustable Kettlebells roundup
7) T2 Fusion Trainer
8) Synapse Eccentric Trainer
Basically anything that is small enough to build a legitimate Home Gym than can fit in an apartment, or portable enough to carry easily when you move.
Coop I have the bullet proof isolator and the single post stand. I had zero issues with the knobs FYI. Also a one of a kind belt squat has been mentioned that functions like none f the others on the market!
Spot on with the smith machine call. My custom rack coming from China has an additional smith machine section i requested. Wish they had the eleiko style
Oddly, I was most excited about REP's storage this year, so far. I ordered some of their in-rack shelves when they released them a few weeks ago, and they're awesome. Almost pulled the trigger on some Sorinex shelves for years, but luckily held off and couldn't be happier. Can't wait to build out some stand-alone storage when I move into a bigger house.
Suprised you didn’t bring up the wall mounted Athena!! Got one on the way! Would love to see you review that!
I love my Bolt Hydra Leg Curl combo... It's a SOLID piece same goes with the BOLT Outlaw Hack Squat/Leg Press. I am super happy with both of these additions.
I want to get this but does the pad resting below the knees for leg curls bother you?
@@Fuzzynitrous there are three adjustments. I am 5’6” and do not have any problems with any of the adjustments.
Coop! Could you give a recommendation on how to best store the QuickDraw DB’s since they don’t have a dedicated stand like most of the others? I appreciate the help!
Thanks for the video Coop. I recently picked up the Ritfit hack/squat combo. It's ok but for the price its good enough for me. Looking forward to whatever comes out from Rep. Regarding Titan, I would love to pick up a squatmax md, however price is an issue. I think its worth it but will have to save. Again, thanks for all you. I really appreciate your content.
OMGSH! THANK YOU! Smith Machines are so underrated! Come on Rep! Make an attachment!
Dialed Motion has a really cool power rack compatible cable system. Really innovative.
So pumped for BulletProof gear this year!
I looked at your Bar reviews and was surprised to not see Texas Power Bars?! I would suggest getting one to compare it with the list of others you have. Thank you, and keep up the good content!
Those are all good thinks to look forward to. I am hoping prices go down a little. With the extreme price hikes since 2020 I am lucky to get a single new thing a year.
Can't wait to see the review in the Iso Leg Press/Hack Squat and I hope the PRX Jammer Arms fit the Rep5000
I preordered the Dialed Motion and can’t wait for it to arrive and put it on my PR5000.
I really love my EliteFTS leg extension/ham curl. It is plate loaded, but great machine for me!
Yeah I have it as well I love it I think they make the best home gym machines
Great stuff! I’m super curious about the new Tib Bar Guy magnetic resistance treadmill (sled)/nordic/pull up/dip machine coming out. It seems like a really nice compliment to Freak Athlete’s Nordic Hyper.
I watched your bolt on smith machine. 1 point, I found over years with bad sholulders a smith machine was easier on shoulder joint stability. 2. A well thought out smith attachment would include an adjustable base platform to let the user adjust the angle of tilt 0 to say 10 to 15 degrees, not just straight uprights.
I would love to see a video on all the best climber machines out there
Bulletproof’s VTS also does leg press, and he has shown off the new and improved PCD in a bunch of videos on Instagram.
It’s rack/wall mounted and takes up zero footprint. C’mon Coop, you have a whole team. Just do even the tiniest amount of research
Voltra peaked my interest but the MSRP scares me going to keep my eyes open on a used model through various marketplaces
I’m with you about no Smith machine for the rack attachment. Especially for Garage gyms when people workout alone without a spotter.
To add to this BOS has been teasing one for a while now.
Spotter arms?
Best stache in the home gym review business.
Best idea ever! Smith Machine attachment to the Rep PR-5000... That'd get my $$$!
Was about to mention Bulletproof. Glad you gave them a shoutout. So excited for what they’re building out this year.
Can you review the bells of steel all in one trainer? It comes with 2:1 ratio cables on the side posts, and then a 1:1 high cable and 1:1 low cable in a middle post for pull downs and rows. 210lb weight stack. Curious on your thoughts, as it is only $1500 and seems like a great deal.
Great Review!! Please review the MajorFitness Spirit B52
BC Hip thruster bar pad. I haven’t seen many reviews on it. I just bought one and would like to see a comparison between that and the Abmat pivot pad. The thruster bar pad comes with a bar that is connected so it seemed like a better deal for a similar price unless you have an extra barbell at home.
I'd love to see you review the Center 1. Since they are so discounted at Costco and seem like a pretty good multigym.
I would love a Titan Fitness Leg Extension Leg Curl V3 that is either uni-lateral or simply with two lever arms loaded on both sides.
I think I may have actually finished building my backyard gym
Unimatic U4S with the matching NATO and beanie is poppin!
Would love to see a review of the Arcadia
= Hey Coop don't forget about Sanddune stepper and X3S The ABS Company also Pull-up bar by Stamina X Fortress
Coop review the Bolt Fitness leg curl/leg extension Combo machine!
I'm ready for another great Rogue innovation, a 28,8 diameter barbell 🤯! Great job RND.
all i want is a good pull up bar, adjustable DBs and some KBs
Would LOVE a review of the Braingain 40kg adjustable dumbbells. They're a European based company, not yet catering to the US. Braingain tell me that they spoke with you about a review but that you want to focus on the US market for now. Fair enough. Just that many of the products you review are quite expensive or unavailable in the EU. But the dumbbells look awesome, good price and us EU folks would really appreciate it. Thanks for the great content :)
The Adonis is really interesting. I'd love to see some kind of rack mounted, small footprint GHD as well. But more than anything I'd like to see more of these companies offer white glove installation. The fact that I can buy a sofa or a dining set and a couple of guys unpack, move it in and set it up, but I can't get that for hundreds of pounds of gym equipment is ridiculous. The idea that a company is just going to drop ship something at the end of your driveway and it's up to you to have a forklift (looking at you Rogue with your lat tower) to bring inside your home just flies in the face of reason.
For me, the biggest thing is more versatile pieces of equipment with a decent price
I'd love to see other companies' takes on the cable tower, I haven't purchased it yet but the B.O.S Plate loaded cable tower I plan to get it, but would love to see some others try to develop their own at the under $400 price point
What is that sick looking dumbbell set in the background?
Smith machine is super underrated for home gyms if not just for calves. It can replace basically every calf machine, the standing, seated, and donkey movement all can be done with the smith machine.
I thought bells of steel teased a west side style bench quite a while back but we haven't seen or heard anything since. Would be cool to see something like that this year.
Good job caing out rogue. I disagree with the c2 comment though. If it aint broke dont fix it! Keeping it simple and relatively inexpensive for what it is is nice .
Yes but some might like a screen for swift like racing, as an option
@@ice4142 ehh get it 3rd party. I use peloton with my c2 and it's been great.
I know the creator of the Criterion arm bar is starting to re-manufacture them this year. Would love to see you review on of those.
Some gear I would LOVE to see reviewed this year:
-Rogue LP-2
-Rogue CC-1
-Rogue FT-1
-Rogue Iso Leg Press
-Monster 3 Tier Dumbbell Rack
-Rogue Urethane Dumbbells
I'll happily stay in the gym and continue saving my pennies until Rep comes out with the Adonis hopefully 300lb weight stack 1 to 1 & 93" . Then two for a proper stretch like a functional trainers gives you, plus the advantage of a high/low pully with a folding rack that will take a smith machine attachment & lever arms with the Vandetta lever arm adapters in between the 2 Adonis's . Combo plate Hack & Leg Press machine. Combo stack Hamstring & Thigh machine. I set of heavy adjustable dumbells, Cant forget my trusty bands. Thats all I need !!
Do the “SledTred” by The Tibbar Guy! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Review Force USA compact leg press combo hack squat
I have this piece and it’s legit.
Can you do a review of the Marrs Bar 2.0?
Dang video quality is looks crispy Coop DeVille.
Didn't expect to see the San Diego Convention Center's Grand Stairway at 0:50. This is how everyone did cardio during COVID.
THANK YOU FOR POINTING OUT THE SMITH MACHINE ATTATCHMENT. WE NEED SMITH MACHINE ATTATCHMNETS
Coop, still waiting on a Powertec review. They have been doing machines for home gyms for years.
Baresteel equipment review!! all in one similar to the oak club review. Their powerblock handles (stainless and colors) , custom hammer handles , custom cable attachment , barbells and many other accessories. Please
Do a review on the SledTred by the Tibbar Guy!!! 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Also I would like to see the new bullet proof equipment 😮
I know that Bells is coming out with that stack and plate loaded leg curl/extension machine as well as their smith machine attachment
I just scored a great deal on a smith machine off FB market haha. it was too good to pass up. I was not completely confident I had a room, but it fits.
I wish home gym companies would design an affordable and quality solution for garage floor slopes. Garage gyms come in all sizes and sometimes the slope can limit our space and where we can place cages/machines. If GGR has a video dedicated to solving this, please share away.
Same here looking for a solution
Bells of Steel All in One Trainer review would be awesome. Looks like their take on the Adonis except setup for an actual functional trainer and can be used as a squat rack. Oh and its already out and available.
So, which manufacturers are coming out with a smith add-on? Now I gotta know!
-I would love a review of the gear for fit leg extension/curl combo
-Also what is that watch on your wrist ?
How about reviewing vertical leg press and leverage squat machines.
FYI - the companies Versa and Bully Glider and SYL Fitness have trolley systems that are built to be Smith machines in squat racks
Do the Dialed Motion Side Winder
What about a review on the folding MAJOR FITNESS Lightening F35??
Remember concept 2 primarily make rowers for rowing. More recently moving into CrossFit. It's quite a shift for the company to focus on the home gym market. Their only difference would be screens and connectivity.
Coop, I would love it if you can review the IM.GYM-3000 home smart gym. I am curious how good their software is.
I have seen a good combo unit . example if you merge leg press and hack squat neither of them function properly
PLEASE talk about the new BOS all-in-one rack/cable tower
Would love an updated free motion (or lite) review. With all the new functional trainers and towers out or coming out, want to see if the higher price is still worth it.
