Just wanted to give a big thanks for this video! I just replaced my fuel pump this afternoon and following your video made it so much easier. The only snag I had was breaking one of the retaining clips, the one that clipped from the bottom, but I was fortunate that the new fuel pump kit came with a replacement clip! A little DIY saved me hundreds of dollars. Thanks again!
Good video. Just a suggestion. You may want to hose the top of the tank off before removing to old pump to keep dirt and junk from falling into the tank when old pump is removed. Make sure the gas cap is screwed in the filler neck to keep water out of the tank. It's a sealed system except for the gas cap opening.
thanks for the video. Everyone else has showed taking off the bumper and tail lights. I started by leaving my back bolts in but loose and tilting the bed up but after seeing your video, unhooking one light connector and sliding the bed back made it much easier.
well you just answered that question, my sender on my 2001 B3000 just started acting up 2 weeks ago, it February 29th, too cold to deal with now, will use the trip odometer for now. Just watched another video where guy dropped the tank....yah, bed removal easier...that be the way I do it.
Thank you! Perfect video. New fuel pump is in on my '02 ranger. Definitely could've used a second person moving the bed, but I was able to walk it back resting on 2x4s on frame. Subscribed!
You are welcome James. Glad it helped you out! I've done this repair by myself as well, not as easy, but definitely manageable with some wood. Don't forget to hit the "🔔" next to the Subscribe Button or you won't receive updates to my future uploads.
Great job. I was starting to pull my hair out with spring force installing new assembly, glad you confirmed it was per design. Mine is supercab and it’s a tighter fit between cab and assembly which makes it more difficult. Why they make it such a tight fit though hole is beyond me, just stupid, and makes you worry about breaking something fitting it through the opening.
Excellent video, thank you. My 03 Ranger wouldn't start and the pump obviously wasn't coming on. Got a flat bed ride to my home about 40 miles away, turns out there is a reset button for the pump under the glove box. Hit the reset, turn the ignition to on then off then she starts right up. Everyone check this first, save some $$.
Need help you video was helpful except for the round donut the holds the pump in. I have a 2003 b3000 it has some other type bracket with metal tab . And the thing won't turn. Any suggestions
Thanks for the vid. With regards the six bolts (T-55), do you recall the position of the two longer ones? Were they close to the cabin, in the middle, or towards the tailgate?
Wow Man you are awesome 👏🏼... great video the Best for sure please make more videos like that .. you way to explain and do things are valued 👍 you got a follower
Thank you for this video! I believe my fuel pump died on my 01' XLT. (185k miles original to the truck) and now I have to go through and replace it. Ordered OEM motorcraft since I don't want to have to do this job anytime soon again but the only crappy part I am dreading is the bolts holding the bed... I feel like they are going to be a nightmare and also that it's now winter time here... doing this in 20 degree F' is going to suck even more.... :-(I believe what I ordered is the ENTIRE fuel assembly housing/pump/..etc. It was almost $300. I figure this is easier as I take out the entire old one and put new one in and be done with it.You really made this look easy!
I had to replace the license plate’s light bulb, I saw a spark, now my ranger 01 won’t start any more, I have checked all the fuses and relays and they are all fine. Do you think the fuel pump could be the problem?
Check your fuel pump cut off switch. It's located underneath the glove box compartment on the passenger side. If you're sitting in the passenger seat looking at the glove box, it's underneath it to the right. With the vehicle off,Push the red button in. Then go ahead and try to start your vehicle again.
mastermattk Yes it is, the B4000 is the same exact procedure, and the fuel pump assembly is the same exact part number. B2300,B2500,B3000 and B4000 all use this same pump and same repair procedure. You can purchase the repair parts here on my website. www.nthefastlane.com/Fuel-System/Fuel-pump-replacement-ford-rangermazda-bseries-01-03/Fuel-pump-replacement-ford-rangermazda-bseries-01-03-store
I suggest replacing the filler neck too while the bed is off. The filler neck develops cracks and leaks. Buy OEM filler neck. Aftermarket necks just do not last.
Great video - thank you. Do you happen to know where the fuel tank pressure sensor is located? Is it part of the fuel pump you replaced? Or one of the things you disconnected? Or located somewhere else entirely? I appreciate any knowledge you could share.
I'm personally a novice, pretty much diy type of guy.... I tell you what mr. Nthefastlane you sir are the s!#t!!!😀😀😀. I feel like I could rebuild a whole car off of your knowledge and details of your videos. I tell everybody who needs something fixed, give your video a try b4 seeing a brick & morter mechanic shop. Your videos are very intuitive and direct.Dont hesitate hit subscribe!!
Thank You Rott! That was a very awesome complement that I took whole heartedly. I really try my best to present the best camera angles and explanations so the viewer feels like their there doing the repair.
Does the B2500SE 2.5L have a fuel pressure regulator on the fuel pump Assembly too or can I get the fuel pressure regulator for existing harness because I just bought a fuel pump?
+Isaac Martinez You can swap just the pump if need be. The only problem is, the fuel pressure regulator is apart of the entire assembly when sold and it's a common part to fail so best to replace it all.
Helpful video, I was freaking out b4 I saw your video. I have1999- 2000 Mazda B2500 SE VIN:4F4YR12C0YTM14175 2.5L 2492CC |4 GAS SOHC Naturally Aspirated. Can you tell me which Fuel Pump Kit I need? Also what do you think about creating an access panel in the bed?
Great vid but boy would I love to have a word with the engineer who thought it was a good idea to put a plastic piece that you need a flat head to remove.
Great video!! I have a 2009 ford ranger sport and just bought a Spectra pump to replace the old pump with about 83,200 miles on it!! I hope mine is intact when they remove it!! I have factory bed cover in my bed....can the tank be dropped like in a car?? Just asking!!

Dude you saved us. Was able to do this with 3 of my boys--took longer than your ten minutes but not forever, which I anticipated. Thanks!

Thank you SO much for this thorough and easy to follow video- it applied perfectly to my 03 Ranger!
Dude thanks a Bunble! I was able to get my truck back up and running today! 😄
Thank you for making this video very helpful. This is my next job!!
I'm glad someone out there was willing to make a video on this because my mazda has been having fuel issues and it's likely the pump.
we did it yesterday with a full tank very easy thank you

Thank you for sharing. Am more confident now in removing my truck bed
best one so far for me. removing the bed is the way to go great job

Thanks for the great video! My Ranger needs a fuel pump and I was scared to try it until your video. I will change it out soon!

You made that look easy. I think i will have to try as my pump may be going bad.

Thanks for the feedback Robery.
Thank you i don't speaker English good but i understad all l like this video 👍 You help me much
Looked at a couple videos best one covered everything start to finish great job
Great video, I was about to make a cutout on the bed. Loosening and sliding the bed back does not look too hard, I will go that route.
Best video lve seen yet !! Thanks 👍
Thanks really helped but mine was not counterclockwise to unscrew fuel pump it was left regular way to loosen it👍
Thank you brother for the video, your time and knowledge, this was a big help to me and my brother in law, GOD BLESS and ge good
+V8SKULLS Hey thanks for the compliment V8, glad it helped you guys.
Wow!.. Looks simple enough. I'm gonna have to do this pretty soon too.
you made that look easy....THANKS !............
wow!!! you make it look so easy to do
I recommend cleaning the area before you expose all the hoses to dirt. I was cringing the whole time watching that part!
the bed off method was always the bomb for me. i'd take off the tailgate to reduce some of the weight. it's an easy one man job.
Great video! Very helpful, Thank you.

Hello I hope you're doing well I have a 2002 b3000 are they the same
Actually...not a bad video.
I need to make a friend, now ;)
Clifton Oyarzo jajajqjqjqj
Yeap
Did you have to disconnect the fuel pump relay along with the battery?
You can if you like, but as soon as you unplug the fuel pump harness there's no power to it anymore.
Thank you for this video! I believe my fuel pump died on my 01' XLT. (185k miles original to the truck) and now I have to go through and replace it. There not that bad I just took mine out yesterday on my 2001 Mazda b3000 next is taking out the fule pump
Great video
Do you think we have to use power tools to get the screws out? or do you think it could be done by hand?
I had to replace the license plate’s light bulb, I saw a spark, now my ranger 01 won’t start any more, I have checked all the fuses and relays and they are all fine. Do you think the fuel pump could be the problem?

Is it in the same place for the Mazda b 3000 series ?
Does it have a cut off switch
@@joeyeverett8064 yes it is
Excellent video
Thanks bro. Helped me out
Is the fuel pressure regulator in the gas tank with the pump? I have a 2003 Mazda b4000 4wd.
mastermattk Yes it is, the B4000 is the same exact procedure, and the fuel pump assembly is the same exact part number. B2300,B2500,B3000 and B4000 all use this same pump and same repair procedure. Nice video! How long did the replacement take to complete?
I suggest replacing the filler neck too while the bed is off. The filler neck develops cracks and leaks. Buy OEM filler neck. Aftermarket necks just do not last.
Is that a 112 wheel base and a 2.3 litter...?
You could call it that, it's 111.6.
Does the Mazda b 3000 series have a cut off switch in the glove department box ?
I have a 2001.
Great video - thank you. Do you happen to know where the fuel tank pressure sensor is located? Is it part of the fuel pump you replaced? Or one of the things you disconnected? Or located somewhere else entirely? I appreciate any knowledge you could share.

Wow
Got it. Thanks.
Great vid !!!! Thanks!!!
Is there a video on how to replace just the gas tank filler hose? Thank you in advance. :)
Very good....
How long did it actually take u. Also, how u reinstall the Fill whole?
Without filming I would say 1-2 hours max.
Reinstalling the fuel neck is pretty simple. You just hang it down, then set the bed on and push it back up into the bed area and screw the bolts in.
Thanks, I may have to do this. I saved video.
Thanks
Does the B2500SE 2.5L have a fuel pressure regulator on the fuel pump Assembly too or can I get the fuel pressure regulator for existing harness because I just bought a fuel pump?
The "FPR" comes with the fuel pump assembly, it's in line on the fuel pump.
I got a question, is it a full replacement or so you need to move things from the old one to the new one?
+Isaac Martinez You can swap just the pump if need be. The only problem is, the fuel pressure regulator is apart of the entire assembly when sold and it's a common part to fail so best to replace it all.
Great video
What's that on the back of the tank ? The other peice coming out.. a vent?
Gracias amigo
Thanks man, awesome
great video!!
Thank u.
Thanks brother
Where do I get fuel pump for 1987 Mazda SE-5 extended cab? They’re hard to find according to Oreilys
Any parts you need for it I would just look up the Ford ranger equivalent of that truck, you’ll find the parts much easier
Thank you!
Thax brother...mahalo...from kauai..got a question do I really need an electric gun or can I used a Sackett wrench to get the bolts off the bed?
I just used WD40, a breaker bar, and ratchet at the end by hand.
It's a damned beast doing it by hand but it can be done!
It's really tough doing it by hand- I used a breaker bar. This was the toughest part of the job!
What size torque bit t65s...had a hard to listening to that part?
Clinton Moore is it t65s bit after all
Should be T55
I need a lock ring for a b3000 1994
Helpful video, I was freaking out b4 I saw your video. I have1999- 2000 Mazda B2500 SE VIN:4F4YR12C0YTM14175

Great vid but boy would I love to have a word with the engineer who thought it was a good idea to put a plastic piece that you need a flat head to remove.
I do not see a safety switch on the 2001 Mazda b 3000. All I see is a round thing with wires no botton to push
How can you be sure the fuel pump is going bad on a 2003 Ford Ranger
"All right, now remember which way this went"... (4:40)... I'm already in trouble...
Great video!! I have a 2009 ford ranger sport and just bought a Spectra pump to replace the old pump with about 83,200 miles on it!! I hope mine is intact when they remove it!! I have factory bed cover in my bed....can the tank be dropped like in a car?? Just asking!!
+gracie charleston it can be but this is a far easier method.
I assume this will work on a 04 ranger
Correct.
i did it by myself its a pain just lower the tank its easier
🐐🐐🐐
Crap, you didn't show how electric connecter releases
compressed air is your friend.
Maestro *******
What a pain in the ass i tried without taking off the bed couldnt get the dam thing to thread so i guess im pulling the bed off
It's a Maz-da !!! MAZDA....not a Maaaazda ..
Damn skipped bed removal but used it as thumbnail smh
@2:25?
Great video!! Thanks!!
