    I can relate to this scene so much. When you can get down it, two adult siblings having an argument about their truths and feelings. They're all they have left in the world but there are things that they should have gotten off their chests ages ago, like how Erny felt being left out and how Lars felt about being sucked into the string business even though he had other things he wanted to go after. I relate to this because it's very similar to how my sister and I are.

      @@user-gd8ge1gq7d That's a truth that we all have to learn as we grow up. Sometimes life is about figuring out what's worth hanging onto and what you have to let go and that includes the people in your life.
      Ernie had to let go of his father to go after what he wanted. He tried to win his father over with what he knew and his own talent for cooking, but that didn't work. Lars sacrificed his own ambitions to make his father proud. That's not easy to give up on your dreams on someone else's behalf. Bottom line, both have anger and frustration that are arguably their father's fault. If he had supported both of them, then maybe things would have turned out differently.
      Also, you're absolutely right. When it comes to family, you shouldn't have to prove anything to them. You shouldn't have to earn their love and pride. When it comes to family, they should already love and be proud of you. If you have to do something to make your family proud of you, respect you, and love you, then there's something wrong.

    I feel as though people can learn a lot from this movie. Learning to take blame when appropriate, learning to accept the other for who they are, learning that sometimes family means more than hating each other and most of all, the past should not dictate the future. There is always time to restart, doesn’t matter if you’re 20 years old, 40, 55, whatever. Sometimes in life, the things we argue about are the small things, the bigger picture is what really matters. That’s what these two discovered.

    This scene, this big argument scene i think Really Showed a LOT about the 2 brothers an their thoughts. Like, Lars says to Ernie he also had dreams an ambitions he wanted to follow. Lars didnt "Love" String. He just took care of/took over their dad's string factory business cause He knew how much their dad Loved It and his dad didnt want it to be sold to some pencil neck rich tycoon's jerks.
    An also, Ernie did make some Good points here. Ernie did truly Love his father But its Like his dad never gave him the proper attention and Love and respect he wanted. Its like ernie was invisible to his/their dad. As like ernie said he Made him this Big meal for 1 of his birthday's And his father did eat it, But he didnt even say thank you. I mean, Ernie made his dad this big special B-day Dinner an ALL his dad payed attention to an Noticed was the string he tied the Rack of Lamb with. I Must say, That DOES Indeed seem Pretty Crazy. their dad's obsession with string was pretty Over-board. But i also do love how ernie said even though he does think an know their dad was kinda nuts, he still wanted him To Give him the Love he wanted. But i see why Ernie was So hurt. im not saying that excuse's ernie being bitter an stuff a lot, But i see why he was acting like this. As he thought Their dad loved lars more an he felt like he didnt even exist in the World to his dad.

But Unfortunatly and Tragically I dont think Ernie's dad showed Ernie enough Love. Like Lars said, He Did Not "LOVE" String. He just clearly Understood how much the String Factory meant to his Dad. And he Did not wanna See it given away just for a BIG WAD of Cash.
      Yes i will agree Ernie and Lars's Dad was a LITTLE TOO Obsessed with String. Their Dad was not a Bad guy. As Like Their dad clearly said and believed, String is Useful to the World. And Hes Right. It is. Like I Gotta Confess im Not a Expert on the History of string, But yes String Did indeed Help make Some DAMN GOOD and helpful stuff But Their dad was a LITTLE TOO Over-Board with Love For String... Is String Useful? Yes. Is it something to Go all crazy Over? No. But then Again, I wanna say, some people just Love some Stuff a BIT TOO MUCH. Face it, your dad was crazy, no ifs or buts about it. You just can't admit to that because that would force you to admit you wasted your life and all your failures are your own fault.

    • @justinratcliffe947
      @justinratcliffe947 2 года назад

      Exactly. Lars was a pathetic bootlicking suck up. While there's nothing wrong with him loving his dad as much as he does there's still no denying that his father, while a successful industrialist, was still a string-obsessed wacko. Ernie has a right to be pissed because he did everything for the both of them. He was a good son to Rudolf his father and a good brother to Lars yet both of them practically neglected Ernie and failed miserably to appreciate him. In all honesty I can relate to Ernie. I feel him very deeply. And Lars is apparently a prideful asswipe who just doesn't wanna admit he's wrong about anything. Not to mention how oblivious he is to April being a golddigger. Pathetic. Just pathetic
