One of the coolest things Tekken 4 did was set all of its stages in what was conceivably a single city/region. It made you feel like you were in an actual action moving set in a real location, rather than teleporting around the entire globe. Add to that the costumes and music, and it was the peak of style for the franchise.
I loved the busy stages full of cheering people., the fight clubs Those blew my mind. I loved stages like that in fighting games. Like how in KOF97 every stage had hundreds of people and studio camera rigs and helicopters filming your fights all over the world. Love it.
I'm about to do something few would dare to do, and that is defend Tekken 4. Yes, it's a broken and slow fighting game. But is it the black sheep in the series? No, that would imply it failed in every department. Where Tekken 4 doesn't succeed in gameplay it excels in everything else. The music was the best since Tekken 2, it has the best version of Tekken force, it has the best costume designs, the best atmosphere, the best endings (from a story standpoint), one of the best intros in the series, it had the darkest tone, and it was the last Tekken game where Paul wasn't a fucking joke character. While the gameplay wasn't great, it was experimental and innovative for the series. You have to give them some credit for at least trying. If it weren't for Tekken 4, we'd have no Tekken 5 and that's often regarded as the best in teh series. It's just a shame the very best aspects of Tekken 4 weren't carried over to its sequels.
Yeah. I do actually agree. For a while it was actually my favorite Tekken game (or I thought it was at least) and in my separate review for the game that I did a while ago, I do harp on about it's positive aspects way more. Though I do prefer Tekken 5's story wise, but that's just a minor taste thing I guess. I think what ruins the game for me now, is that I just don't enjoy playing it anymore. I'm way to used to how Tekken functions these days, so I get either frustrated or bored with it. But even despite that, I may have been too negative for the sake of brevity. Sorry if I was.
NihilisticIdealist I was introduced to Tekken when I played 4. I really fell in love with that game and thought it was really fun. I played the first one and it was a cringe ride. I still appreciate it and play it whenever I like to go back to the classic PS1 games that I have missed because I was born into the PS2 era...
None of that matters in a fighting game. The gameplay is the only important thing in a fighting game and 4's core mechanics, stage design, characters, and fighting system were trash. Paul has never been a joke character. He's basic, but not a joke. Deathfist is a very real threat at any point in fighting against him. Also, Tekken 5 was hated on release too. It's Dark Resurrection that's considered the best.
YiddishDancingClown Paul isn’t basic wtf. Paul was a serious character story wise when he fought Kaz it ended in a draw & Paul won Tekken 3 he defeated Orge and left. When he left Orge transformed.
This is the first time I heard anybody really dislike the tekken 4's story/aesthetic everybody showers it with praise all the time. I really appreciate your input on it since it's actually a very unique perspective on it.
I say this since alot of tekken heads such as myself who have been playing since tekken 3 preach how under appreciated the game is in its story/asthetic style. And I definitely think that the gameplay for t4 is garbage.
Tekken 4 was not properly reviewed here. I have not seen his separate review, but he did not mention how the entire left side of the face buttons/grab buttons were dedicated to position change grab moves. Also, everyone had parries. They tried to make this an MMA/street fight style game. Tekken with some realism. That's why the environments are the way they are in this game. That's a HUGE omission. Judging it based on that, and actually USING those mechanics should greatly change one's perspective of this underrated classic.
I really love Tekken 5 and 7. The narrator in T7 Story mode was garbage and unnecessary, but goddamn, that finale between Heihachi and Kazuya was awesome!
I remember when Tekken 5 was first released in arcades. IIRC characters were locked behind a timer, and there was always excitement online over who was gonna be unlocked next. So many were so sure that Heihachi was dead forever. Eventually only one character remained locked, and everyone speculated as to who that was. You can probably imagine the hype online when it turned out to be Heihachi.
Hmm, highly disagree that T6 was the same gameplay wise as T5. Bound and rage made T6 feel very very different in my opinion. Combos got way longer due to bound systems, floors could break. Pretty weird you did not mention that, Bound especially.
It did to me, but then I only spent a few hours with T6 before I got sick of it, so I doubt I got the full gist of how it played. I do not know what is Bound. I wanted to make this retrospective mainly to highlight why I liked the series, which isn't for heady fighting games reasons. This went well until I hit Tekken 6, and remembered that I did not like Tekken 6. Hence why I kinda blew past it.
Oh man, I loved tekken 6 so much, being able to play it online on xbox was so much fun, I had a savage rivalry with a friend. Honnestly I liked the combo system, also the character customization was fun too, gave you a reason to play the half wack story mode lol. I thought the arena design was fun too, and loved the BGM as always. The story mode wasn't my favorite, but I played it to get character customization items, I thought playing multiplayer with a decked out character was kind of fun.
I really like your point about the cutscenes getting worse after they added dialogue - the cutscenes in 1-3 were actually all really creative (if cheesy) short silent films that had to rely purely on visual storytelling. When you add dialogue these things become MORE stilted.
Surprised and impressed that you didn't mention or show Akuma a single time during the Tekken 7 segment. He feels integral to that game's real-life story. Also, kinda' funny listening to all this after most of 7's DLC came out and we got the guest-pocalypse. Anyways, this is three years late, but great retrospective! And I noticed how Gon only showed up for Tekken Ball in the 3 part. What a good lïdle boy.
The war wasn't just because, fuck it, why not. The entire plot point of them starting that war was to draw out another demon that would only surface if the world was in great turmoil. Jin didn't actually want to have the war or to hurt anyone but felt it necessary in order to draw out said Demon. Kazuya was actually trying to prevent Jin from doing this which is why there is this clash of companies as they both use their money and power to complete their respective tasks.
I just found your channel and its pretty great. I know this video is like a year old but I want to address the claim that Tekken 6 introduced the rage mechanic and stage interactivity and nothing else. Tekken 6 also introduced the bound mechanic which is a combo extender allowing for every character to wall carry easier, low parry to punish low kick spam and reward players for prediction, and tracking moves to beat careless side stepping. These mechanics were used in Tekken Tag 2 and new mechanics such as the netsu system which causes rage to activate later or earlier depending on the relationship that certain characters have towards each other in the story as well as tag combos and balcony breaks. Tekken 7 on top of the hype features has crush counters, the already mentioned critical arts (those cutscene attacks), rage drive which are super powered moves that cost rage to activate and the tailspin mechanic which is essentially bound except it is slightly more difficult to continue the combo since it puts the opponent further away. That and the wake-up mechanics were changed slightly to make it easier for casual players. This stuff might not matter to a more casual crowd, but I think details such as these are worth mentioning in a retrospective even off hand. I still enjoyed the video though and I'm looking forward to more.
I think Tekken 6 was the closest thing to a bad game the franchise had, banking on the scenario campaign was so bad, and it felt really awkward and didn't mix well.
Yeah the way to stop the directional issue in t6 scenario campaign is by using analogue stick to move but once you see that arrow using the dpad will stop the full directional control making it just the same as any fight
Tekken 3 5 and are my fav. For the good gameplay and artstyle. In 2nd comes tekken 7 and tag 2. Im getting tag 1 for the pse because its pretty much tekken 3 in hd so yeah, should be fun. Although in not a pro i just have a lot of fun cuz tekken is awesome. Very nice vids btw! Subscribed
Thanks! Yeah I knew going in to this that I wasn't gonna be able to go deep. It would really bloat the videos for one, but I also have 0 competitive experience. Only so much I can get from playing it casually against the AI for a couple of days.
This was a great continuation/conclusion to part 1! Looking forward to more retrospectives. Have you ever entertained the idea of releasing physical blu-ray "seasons" of your RUclips content? I can totally see you giving them that Criterion Collection packaging aesthetic.
I actually did just earlier today haha. I was watching some old AVGN episodes, and noticed he sold his stuff on DVD/Bluray sets. No clue how much intrest there would be in such a thing though, or how I would go about producing something like that. But I would definitely like to try it one day.
Though the Tekken 6 Scenario Campaign's camera is a pain at times, using the D-Pad controls works as if you had a 2D camera, opposed to the stick moving 3D; I'm not sure if the criticism of this mode was valid considering that. Nonetheless, great videos, I'm glad I followed my friend's recommendation.
I probably should have at least mentioned it if I'm honest. Same with the Tekken movies that were made, and the anime. This video was full of technical difficulties for me, and so I kinda started to hate myself while making it. I may have ended up rushing a few bits, and skipped out on things I shouldn't have skipped out on.
ThorHighHeels Eh, you could always just do a "Tekken Retrospective: DVD Extras" video if you felt like it. Tekken 7 hype is still pretty huge, so it's not like it would be utterly pointless at this particular point. Either way, keep up the good work! Your reviews are some of the best I've seen on RUclips. It's really cool to see people talking about video games more artistically as opposed just focusing on gameplay and graphics. Your videos are a real breath of fresh air if there ever was one.
I love the story of Tekken games up to 5th instalment, they really shouldn't go for war plot with 6th and so on. I'm not saying that story in Tekken is masterpiece, but it suspend my disbelief much better, when the scale of events was lower, like in Tekken 4. Also it feels much more like a tournament before with all this crowd watching fightrers in 4th and 5th games but now it's like...Mortal Kombat? I guess...something like that, it just feels off
old video I know, real fun watch and I guess its kinda fun to hear thoughts from someone who doesnt play tekken. I subscribed after seeing your video on from softwares old games because i was super impressed by the research made for the video! But damn the 0 research made for this is real bad.
Not big into fighting games, but always appreciate how Tekken is maintained as a franchise. Have you played Dead or Alive 5 Last Round? Aside from the TnA, it's a very good, albeit a bit slower, 3D fighting game.
The only DOA experience I have is that Beach Volleyball game for the 360. I've always wanted to try the fighters though. I remember seeing one on the original Xbox when I was little, and thinking it looked really cool.
Oh man, this video hasn't aged well when it comes to Tekken 7. The loading times are super bad now and the multiplayer is just straight up broken. Also fuckall singleplayer game modes STILL.
this was a great video probably one of your best. I loved the news segments and the bottem text. I see you been watching feminist rebuttal videos "is the mere existance of women sexist?". (Or you just reused one) And tekken tag 2 was a cool representation of the series and what it can be. Like the wii u versions having costumes from mario bros and funny things like that. It still is not tekken tag 1 which is my favorite because it was the first one i played as a young kid in fact i got tekken 3 as well from a gamestop and i didn't even know that ps2 can play ps1 games and that was my only ps1 game i played for 10 years. I lost the case for it and i made a new one from a bad ps2 game. With crayons! It looks bad
Not really. I was just kinda poking fun at internet discourse in general. I do think feminism can propel some crazy ideas, or foster shitty people like that "Hugh Mungus wot" lady, but I can't say that I'm a fan of TheAmazingSargonf00t people either. I dunno if that's the vibe I gave off, but that wasn't the plan haha. Also shit! I completely forgot about the Wii U version of Tekken Tag 2. Should've at least included something about it. Same with the PSP release of Tekken 6 or that weird F2P Tekken thing. I didn't even include the Limited Edition Crayon Release of Tekken 3!
one of the good things to come from 6 is mah boy miguel. surpised you havent mentioned the bound mechanic. It was a pretty divisive addition. Also when are you gonna play Gravity Rush maaaan?
good videos, its interesting to see what the series is like from a casual fans perspective. and these comments too lol. i could come in here and tell you all about how each game is good or bad from a competitive angle and that gameplay balance feel and consistency matters more than all the modes and movies etc. but you guys need to enjoy the game too and if you don't then there wont be much sales and we'll have a dead franchise. i love what tekken 4 did in terms of redesigning a lot of the characters, ever since then they have always played it safe which kinda sucks. and some of the music has great composition very "namco" soundtrack, but not very "tekken" for sure. no doubt however that the game feels terrible to play when compared to any other tekken. so much that at the time all the serious players kept playing ttt until t5 came out in 05
I have just watched this video, it is superb and funy. I have only one question. For life I cannot remember where does the song you play at 4:11 come from.
I'm gonna be that guy mostly because I haven't seen anyone else mention ot, but wasn't everyone speaking their native language only fully a thing starting in Revolution or Tag 2? I was pretty sure through to 6 it was either English or Japanese depending on where they were from
I considered that more of a Street Fighter game then a Tekken game. In all honesty though, I should've mentioned it along with Pokken and the Tekken movies.
@ThorHighHeels man, have you ever played dead or alive? or if you want it more obscure? "rival school united by fate" by capcom, tekken was always slow af, especially in europe where we had 50hz instead of 60, also tekken was always never really ballanced, some characters could one hit you, like King
nah I've only played one of the beach volleyball games, never any of the actual fighters. They seem quite similar to Tekken tho, so I would probably like em.
@@thorhighheels you should check them out, they are much faster then tekken, and you have multi levelled fighting arenas, and counter moves, and rival school is just plain fun for the whole family
I played the shit out of tekken 2 as a kid. Knew every characters multi part combos and used to have tournaments at friends houses on the weekend. Tekken 3 I mastered Bryan as I liked Bruce in Tekken 2. After Tekken 4 I was confused and didn’t play any of the Tekken’s seriously for years. Played a bit of street fighter 4 and was waiting for Tekken X street fighter lol. Just got Tekken 7 the other day not played it yet, found this video trying to get up to speed. Rival schools was amazing as well.
33:58 - 34:08 "While I'm sure overtime they'll improve the game with patches and paid DLC and we'll all be laughing at this segment, hopefully, it still sucks now here in current year." Tekken Bowl was the only paid DLC with no real incentive play it unless you have friends over for a laugh. Aside from that, Tekken 7 has never improved if you're not part of the FGC and there has been no indication that another game is even being made. A hypothetical Tekken 8 would have to massively improve on content and story but it could be worse by taking the Guilty Gear Xrd path and separating story and gameplay, which is why I couldn't be fucked with Guilty Gear Strive.
I played Tekken 2-5 religiously, then just kinda stopped... When 6 came out I had a 360 and I was not about to play Tekken with analog sticks nor that shitty ass 360 Dpad. When I finally played it on PSP I got to Azazel and... nope. Tag 2 was fun but by then I guess I just had my fill already? Kind of like how I felt after I played every Tony Hawk game and got up to American Wasteland, it was fine but I just kind of lost interest
@ThorHighHeels What in the hell could drive you to qualify Tekken 4 as a "slow game", time and again, is absolutely beyond me. I know fighting games ain't your thing per se, you've been upfront about it, but still, that statement there is so overwhelmingly wrong it hurts ! Tekken 4 is by far the most fast-paced entry in the series up to that point. We could easily go frame data on this, but hell, it's obvious just *looking* at the game, let alone play it. I left it alone the first few times, but I finally had to say something. Pardon the bluntness.
Are you out of your fucking mind?! Tekken 4 has the best soundtrack and vibe, it was a nice compromise between 2 and 3's dark and edgy vibes. Authentic Sky is a masterpiece
Unknown has no backstory? Are you freaking kidding me?! It's JUN KAZAMA YOU FRAUD! Call yourself a fan -_- Edited to add: would've been great if you'd discussed how Tekken 7 has locked content, ie *entire characters* behind paid DLC and preorder exclusives. Some of us remember when you unlocked bonus characters by *playing the freaking game* but they went a step beyond the pale by cutting out core characters and making you pay extra for them. Fkn bullshit. I worked out that to buy it at full price with all the DLC would be about $400AUD. I refused to buy it because I don't want to support the dodgy EA model of cutting stuff that should be included in the base game and selling it for extra as DLC. Greedy wankers. Anyway great vidya. Subbed!
What era of hiphop? I really like older memphis rap like DrDooom, Graveyard Productions, 666, and Guice. Some good shit. I thought I'd ask because you seem like you like vaporwave.
(sorry it took a while to get back to you, but youtube sucks with notifications sometimes) I do like Vaporwave yeah. Though it is a bit of a dead meme now as well, but if was a fun little wave of creativity while it lasted. As for hiphop, I like a lot of older 90s gangsta rap stuff, especially some of the weirder artists like Ol Dirty Bastard. Lately though, I've mainly been into the trap influenced stuff. It started with Lil B years ago, and slowly went from ironically liking it, to actually liking it. Now I'm going around bumping shit like Uzi Vert and xxxtentacion and I should probably feel bad about that but I've pretty much stopped caring haha
Same, I started really liking older rappers and groups like 666, guice, graveyard productions (these guys are great you should listen to them), shit like that. But modern trap has grown on me too. But it took me a while to enjoy it. xxx's louder songs are great. Some newer trap artists I'm starting to like is trippie redd, scarlxrd(you'll like him since you like x), sahhbabbi, trap sensei, and rozz dyliams. Keep up the videos though you've gotten like 3k subscribers it seems since this video came out. Good job my boy
21:00 You can switch to whom you ever want to lock on. If you customize your buttons that is. The red and blue triangles above the enemy's health show yours and Alisha's respectively locked on enemy (duh). Aside from the rewards being new ways to dress up your fighters, the bonus stats of each piece gives you an advantage over the enemies you encounter as you further progress. Logically, they become much stronger and more numerous in further stages with almost all of main characters as end bosses. It is a fun, all though not too deep, rpg mechanic. You can freeze, electrify, up your attack damage or defence, higher money/item drop rate, etcetera. Quite addictive if you want all pieces with an S or A rating for all fighters, depending on the difficulty you're playing. The bad thing about it is the micro management aspect of it since there are hundreds of items with an S,A,B,C,D, rating, and especially because drops have a lot of repeated items . The story is nothing to write home about but you never play these games for the story. Even if it's appreciative it's there. Sorry for the rant. I thought I had to clear things up a little on the already extensive and fantastic infotainment piece.
My top 5 Tekkens (and pretty much only ones I still play): 5: Tekken Tag 2 4: Tekken 5 3: Tekken Tag 2: Tekken 2 1: Tekken 3 Admittedly the dreaded N O S T A L G I A plays a part in that (especially on tekken 2) but imo Tekken 1 has aged pretty badly compared to the sequels, Tekken 4 is sluggish, Tekken 6 relied too much on stupid juggling mechanics and i've not played Tekken 7 yet and not sure I wanna haha. As you say it's a stagnant series; post-tekken tag the series has ended up being pretty forgettable and despite 5's quality i'd say that's also a stagnant one too. Just very generic.
One of the coolest things Tekken 4 did was set all of its stages in what was conceivably a single city/region. It made you feel like you were in an actual action moving set in a real location, rather than teleporting around the entire globe.
Add to that the costumes and music, and it was the peak of style for the franchise.
Man I will never undersand how Tekken 4 ost isn't more appreciated Touch, and Go Uninhabited, and Honmaru are amazing pieces of music
Don't forget Didgerhythm and The Inner Shrine.
Tekken 4 is seen in more interest by more of the fans since it the only game to take a real risk. Tekken 7 is basically tekken 5.7
Authentic friggin Sky
and kitsch. all classics
Bit Crusher is mad underrated too. I miss the sound of those horns having a wild tootgasm after you crack someones shit in a public japanese street.
I kinda liked those big stages on Tekken 4, they made me feel like I was actually somewhere and not on a "made stage" just for the fight to happen.
I loved the busy stages full of cheering people., the fight clubs Those blew my mind. I loved stages like that in fighting games. Like how in KOF97 every stage had hundreds of people and studio camera rigs and helicopters filming your fights all over the world. Love it.

@@CarlosRoyalTiger I love that stage, one of the best 2d fighting stages ever made in a fighting game.
I'm about to do something few would dare to do, and that is defend Tekken 4.

I think the reason why Tekken 5 is good is because they experimented before making it. Hence brokenness of Tekken 4. And Tekken 4 is not that shitty.
I like that costume of Yoshimitsu in Tekken 4, that red hair and that armor with the black underneath looks pretty cool

Woah, that Spider-Man 2 music thrown in there really took me back.

namco: WHAT ABOUT TEKKEN 5
Not a big Tekken 6 fan but the bound mechanic makes combo looks super stylish.
Yeah the way to stop the directional issue in t6 scenario campaign is by using analogue stick to move but once you see that arrow using the dpad will stop the full directional control making it just the same as any fight
The Wii U version of Tekken Tag 2 was amaaazing. Nintendo exclusive content and overall a great fighting game on the console day 1. It was a blast
Subscribed
Tekken 6 and tag 2 had very different combo systems tho... nothign compared to Tekken 5
But I liked your casual View on the games
Thanks! Yeah I knew going in to this that I wasn't gonna be able to go deep. It would really bloat the videos for one, but I also have 0 competitive experience. Only so much I can get from playing it casually against the AI for a couple of days.
Legend has it that Unknown is Jun.
At 33 mins I thought you were about to say "the bangage for your buckage will not result in fuckage"
The fight with Jin in Honmaru made the game come from a 6/10 to a 8/10
Too bad that you couldn't include Tekken Revolution. No one will miss it anyway.
A gem cannot be polished without friction. Keep on making great videos.
21:20 "there is no back" lol
I love the story of Tekken games up to 5th instalment, they really shouldn't go for war plot with 6th and so on. I'm not saying that story in Tekken is masterpiece, but it suspend my disbelief much better, when the scale of events was lower, like in Tekken 4. Also it feels much more like a tournament before with all this crowd watching fightrers in 4th and 5th games but now it's like...Mortal Kombat? I guess...something like that, it just feels off
Will you do Virtua Fighter?
"Vaporwave Mall" looks like it was made in UT2004
old video I know, real fun watch and I guess its kinda fun to hear thoughts from someone who doesnt play tekken.
I subscribed after seeing your video on from softwares old games because i was super impressed by the research made for the video!
But damn the 0 research made for this is real bad.
I believe Tekken Tag 2 is the best in the series
Not big into fighting games, but always appreciate how Tekken is maintained as a franchise.
Have you played Dead or Alive 5 Last Round? Aside from the TnA, it's a very good, albeit a bit slower, 3D fighting game.
Hemang Chauhan I have Dead or Alive on Vita.. I prefer it to both Tekken & Virtua Fighter..
The only DOA experience I have is that Beach Volleyball game for the 360. I've always wanted to try the fighters though. I remember seeing one on the original Xbox when I was little, and thinking it looked really cool.
It's free to play on PC, and I believe consoles as well, with an all in one package priced like a standard fighting game.
2 years later ad still no game modes in T7 (bowling doesn't count)
online 3 bars laws are a great mode.
Oh man, this video hasn't aged well when it comes to Tekken 7. The loading times are super bad now and the multiplayer is just straight up broken. Also fuckall singleplayer game modes STILL.
please do a retrospective video on soul caliber and do a review video on xenogears please
Tekken 7 is still missing so many offline modes it’s really sad
this was a great video probably one of your best. I loved the news segments and the bottem text. I see you been watching feminist rebuttal videos "is the mere existance of women sexist?". (Or you just reused one)
And tekken tag 2 was a cool representation of the series and what it can be.
Paul looks like curt cobain on his bad days
cobain had good days??
one of the good things to come from 6 is mah boy miguel. surpised you havent mentioned the bound mechanic.
Thinking about Tekken 6:
*ayyy lmao*
Thinking about Tekken 7:
*Tekken 5 boooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo~*
Tekken 4 is the best in the series.
Very en-fucking-joyable video😀
You realise I had to watch the breaking news segment again, because I was too busy reading the ticker at the bottom?
I'm gonna be that guy mostly because I haven't seen anyone else mention ot, but wasn't everyone speaking their native language only fully a thing starting in Revolution or Tag 2? I was pretty sure through to 6 it was either English or Japanese depending on where they were from
Lucky for me I don’t take your opinion for my own lol still love tekken 4 vibes
So Jinpachi really was a difficult boss and me getting my ass kicked by him was not entirely a result of me sucking at vidya as a kid, eh?
No word on Street Fighter X Tekken?
I considered that more of a Street Fighter game then a Tekken game. In all honesty though, I should've mentioned it along with Pokken and the Tekken movies.
This retrospective made me HARaDa!
Holy fuck this 2 parter mustve TEKKEN fucking ages to make!!!!!!!!!
Kill me quickly
Woah Tales of Symphonia
Isn't Unknown Jun Kazama from Tekken 2? I think she's supposed to be Jins mother or something.
I SEE LAIN
This was missing for a while wasn't it
DUDE L A M O EPIC BURPS
Ahhhhh, good old cringy intros, weird ass endings, and a cremey host to top It off
Thorhighheels in a nutshell.
(I STILL LUV UR CONTENT MAN..)
Tekken 5 wasn't balanced. Steve Fox had a really dumb and easy infinite but other than that from a casual standpoint, I love this video series.
i swear to god this Heely boy is very much a vibe that i do wish we had more of
33:58 - 34:08 "While I'm sure overtime they'll improve the game with patches and paid DLC and we'll all be laughing at this segment, hopefully, it still sucks now here in current year."
Tekken Bowl was the only paid DLC with no real incentive play it unless you have friends over for a laugh.
You haven't mentioned Tekken on Nintendo 3DS
Yeah I left out loads of things. Wouldn't do that today, but I mean I had to start somewhere.
Gymnopedie No.1!
Yo I really liked the Jin mode in Tekken 5 :c
To say that Tekken 4 plays like underwater, maybe you were playing the pal version in 50Hz mode, cause it really is not a slow game or any bad. Wtf
Yeah, that was my problem, initially! LOL.
Naw T4 soundtrack is the best one
I don't really see how tekken 5 isn't as fast as 3
Are you out of your fucking mind?!
Call yourself a fan -_-
Edited to add: would've been great if you'd discussed how Tekken 7 has locked content, ie *entire characters* behind paid DLC and preorder exclusives.
Subbed!
you didnt talk about bounds in tekken 6 :(
wasn't ganryu crushing on michelle back in ttt1?
it's always funny watching people who have no idea how to play fighting games review them.
Your a casual bro
lars: I am not just a ranger... but I'm a gay ranger.
What music do you listen to lad
I'm an idm man
Mainly hiphop these days. Before that I was really into Electro music and Indie (post) Punk bands.
What era of hiphop? I really like older memphis rap like DrDooom, Graveyard Productions, 666, and Guice. Some good shit. I thought I'd ask because you seem like you like vaporwave.
(sorry it took a while to get back to you, but youtube sucks with notifications sometimes)
I do like Vaporwave yeah.
Did you play the pal versions of T5 and T4?
I mean, it's not like I have any other choice lol
@@thorhighheels I asked the wrong question. Did you play 50hz or 60hz versions of these games?
@@hajni16 if the games have 60hrz options i would've picked them. dont remember if they have though
Tekken 3 is the best
2:34
VAUSH???
My top 5 Tekkens (and pretty much only ones I still play):
5: Tekken Tag 2
4: Tekken 5
3: Tekken Tag
2: Tekken 2
1: Tekken 3
Admittedly the dreaded N O S T A L G I A plays a part in that (especially on tekken 2) but imo Tekken 1 has aged pretty badly compared to the sequels, Tekken 4 is sluggish, Tekken 6 relied too much on stupid juggling mechanics and i've not played Tekken 7 yet and not sure I wanna haha. As you say it's a stagnant series; post-tekken tag the series has ended up being pretty forgettable and despite 5's quality i'd say that's also a stagnant one too. Just very generic.
@@cidfacetious3722 It can be stagnant and still fun. Hell, people still play TTT over Tekken 7 here.
Tekken 5 was not balanced, I mashed my way hard to Tekken Lord with Steve
You always seem to post when I'm in sitting in the car... are you watching me?
......maybe.
