Yeah, windows vista got much better support for intel core 2 duo's and stuff from that era. So it's probably best if you just stick with windows vista on that laptop. Since it all works, straight out of the box. Also in my opinion, windows vista just feels right on a system like that.
you are missing a sata driver, for xp from memory press F6 or f9 to load a driver, then load it and it will be detected. this was common with AMD systems back in the day
I thought you needed a floppy to do it, when I looked it up it said you needed to have the drivers, but the site to get them for that laptop was shut down or whatnot and it doesn’t have a floppy anyway. I’m probably gonna come back to installing xp on this thing some other time in the future

Or Debian. It still supports 32 bit CPUs and with a lightweight desktop environment like XFCE it runs quite well on Core (2) Duo machines.
im in awe about how pristine this device is, considering it probably was an e waste.
I believe that the battery was replaced but even if it was it’s still really cool to see it working so well!

I believe the drive has to be setup differently on XP than on 7 and later.

U had to put Sata Mode in bios to IDE Mode to install windows xp
