I am a left handed crocheted because I taught myself how to crochet before the computers came out. Instead of trying out the granny square first I went on one of the hardest pattern instead which was a half a circle that looked like a half a cart wheel that I looked in one of my mum's books that had all different types of patterns in it whilst my mum was teaching me how to knit in squares with different patterns but I taught myself how to follow knitting patterns as well as crocheting patterns. So I am a right handed knitting & left handed for crocheting & I enjoyed watching how you made a ribbed crocheting hat which I know I would enjoy to make since I have made a few of beret hats. I know that all crocheting patterns are right handed written instructions are ok because it doesn't matter if you are left handed or right handed it's when they show the graph part of the pattern right handed that is when it throws me off
Thank you Stephanie! I know in my crochet club their are left handed crocheters. This helps because I am right handed and it hard for me to teach left handed people.
I just finished teaching a class of 7th Graders. 3 were left handed and I really struggled as well to teach them. I am glad I was able to edit this video for the left handed kids. Going forward, I will try my best to edit all my videos for the left hand version, unfortunately my existing videos cannot be edited.
You are very versatile able to use hook both right n left handed awesome tutorship as well and so easy to follow I’m lefty and not many pattern are for left handed thank you so much 😊
Adelaide Wilson Thank you for the compliment. I am only right handed. I edit my videos using iMovie. There is a feature on there to flip the image. It takes a bit of editing, but I am happy to be able to show it left handed. After I taught a group of young kids, I realized that it really helped them so I now put out all my future videos with a left hand version. Enjoy. 😃

I am so confused about the width part. I don’t have anything to measure my chain with. So I’m just winging it. I’m making it for a adult. But this time around I don’t believe I made it long enough. When I fold it in half its like it won’t even fit my head. I’m just struggling with that measure part an how to do the width
That is how I was taught, many years ago. I will do either way depending on what I am making. For the half double crochet, it really doesn't change the look that much. :)

Your chain is the length of your hat. 😊Then keep making rows until it fits around your head.
