  • Gravely Claims that the Pro-QXT can run a finish mower, Brush hog, snow blower, power broom & Leveling blade. For 8 months I tested this out in heavy snow, thick brush and more. A local snowplowing company has bought over 125 of these in the last 10 years and I wanted to find out why. I used it to clear heavy brush, blow both snow and Woodchips, level soil, power broom off dirt and snow, and finish mow a lawn. I found major thing to take into consideration.

Just so you know, Gravely did all that back in the late 1950's and early '60's. Snow blower, bush-hog, snow plow, rotary garden plow, tine cultivator, debris/snow brush, sickle bar mower, reel mower, circular saw that could be used vertical and horizontal, and more all on a single cylinder flat-head pull start 6HP engine. In the mid '60's a riding sulky and a battery start option were added, as well as dual wheels and wheel weights and chains for more traction.

    1. As for the shirt, I'm proud of you. You're not making a fashion statement; you're being FRUGAL.
    2. You can NEVER have "too much power. Just learn how to control it.
    3. You still need an air ride sulky. I don't know if Gravely makes it or if it was a DIY but riding is usually better than walking.

    • @Alex-us2vw

I’ve had sulky’s break so many operators ankles that we ditched all our hydrostatic walk behinds for standers if we want ride on, and leave our walk behinds walked behind. Since the commercial 30” release though we haven’t bought any more walk behind hydrostatic machines since they are in the same price range of standers and way slower.

I think if it's got enough power for a brush cutter, it'd run a good size chipper/shredder. That's one implement that would make it a good seller to compete against the Troy Bilt Flex if by some odd chance a homeowner wanted one. The Flex doesn't have a brush cutter, but has a snow blower, dethatcher, aerator and mower. It's also got twice the power compared to the Flex.

That thing is awesome. I have Ariens original Trac Team line which runs on the 10000 series from the 60's-70's. I have the 24 and 32 wide snowblower and the 26 inch rotary mower and it cuts and blows snow fantastic, but I paid maybe $100 bucks for the stuff and its 50 years old still going strong with a new engine. But this new attachment line that Ariens built under the Gravely name is insane. I'm tempted to get it for the snowblower alone, but I saw its a very expensive machine, but could be worth it if I do enough snow removal in the winter. For now, still running the old 10000 series. That QXT is really cool.

Ventrac is the only tractor you will ever need. It mows, blows snow, brush hogs, scoops, plows and grinds stumps along with 20 plus other jobs better than any stand alone machine designated for one specific job. This is a pretty cool walk behind machine though

  • @mlhm5
    @mlhm5 5 лет назад

State of Kansas pricing is $4855 for the tractor alone. The brush attachment is $1946, the snowblower attachment is $1067.00, the 48" mower is $1481.00. I would assume non state pricing from a dealer would be, with discounts, 20%+ higher on the tractor and probably more on the attachments without taxes. You can buy a used F-250 with plow for the same $$ and be warm when you plow. Plus you can use the truck for other things.

I have a 1000 hours using a Gravely when I was around 18-19 years old, Im 56 now. They were and are the best machine I ever used coming from a construction background. When I did landscaping using the gravely I was on one from 6am to 8pm 5 days a week all season long. I cut grass on steep incline running side to side with the gravely power unit sliding sideways down hill so I pointed it uphill to stay at the same elevation on the hillside. The traction and power were amazing no other mower could have rode on those hill side inclines. My Gravely had a trailer seat attachment, do the newer ones still have that available?

  • @mrdavebach

Just looked at this year's pricing circular and the main unit appears to be considerably lower...$5800. A 48" mower attachment will set you back $1900 and just under $1700 for the 36". The blade is just under $600. The 44" brush is $2300. Almost $1400 for the snow blowing attachment. Just under $1200 for the 32" brush mower. All together about $12,900 for everything Stan had going on. Not sure if these units qualify for fleet pricing or other Gravely promos.
It seems a bit under powered though for some tasks as it only has a 14hp Subaru engine. The main unit with the 48" mower prices out at $7700. Their Pro-Walk 48" walk behind with a 18.5hp Kawasaki is just over $6300. I guess it's the price you pay for a jack of all trades unit.

The Pro-QXT is a good machine but I wonder if it can keep up with the Gravely model 5250, 5240, 5200 as they are twenty years old or older and still going strong. It's a shame that Arens Corp decided to get rid of a great machine. The old Gravely machines had about fifty attachments that it could use and is just as dependable as the newer Pro-QXT machine.Ask any oldtimer about the Gravely and how dependable they are or were as the case may be.

Glad to see I’m not the only one to use a snowblower on loose material other than snow. I used one this summer to load rocky top soil into wheel barrows after running the tiller over it. It would have worked better if we didn’t have such rocky soil, but it still beat shoveling. Isn’t that really the purpose of a snowblower anyway?

What part of the Twin Cities are you in? I’d understand if you don’t want to answer that one. I did some mowing in Stillwater years ago but I also deliver pizza. I was tired of no spare time plus I wasn’t feeling good and finally was diagnosed with chronic Lyme disease in 2013. I wonder how many lawn service people have gotten Lyme?

Looks like that would climb a steep slope without issues, similar to the Ventrac? Any oiling concerns with steep slopes and the engine or attachments (gearbox?).

Come to the lakeville truck wash and have your stuff washed there the owner would glad make a deal for some plowing services in exchange for some free washes or heavy discounts

I've seen it at Lowe's. Not anywhere near as huge, but it looks pretty cool just the same.
