- This was a simple task, remove sole and add another sole. well it's never the case, as soon as you thing it's a simple job, then it becomes time consuming.
so the soles got replaced and I put a thin leather rand to cover the existing holes on the uppers. overall it turned out great.

I always laugh when people say 'why are your prices so high?" Well, it's situations like this. You're not just paying for labour and materials, you're paying for knowledge, troubleshooting and experience all of which is hard earned. Great job Steve.
I always wonder why people are so rude about Steve’s hands shaking. He’s literally the best cobbler and nobody can even argue that and not to mention he was a little boy living in the middle of an awful war! You should all look it up. My hands would shake too! Great work Steve . Thanks for sharing it!
❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍👍
And yet, when he holds that airbrush, his hands are rock solid!
That’s just how he winds the rotor on his Rolex
….the best AND funniest!!! 😁
@@AdrianJNyaoi yes!!!!!!! Hahahahaha
Actually I think the shoes look a lot better with your alteration. I love your father story. He sounds just like my Lebanese father.
Sorry Steve, but when unexpected problems arise, your work & creativity shine the most. We love to see it! :)
One of the definitions of the word "project" is - "a planned piece of work that has a specific purpose." Your use of the word is correct. You could also call it a "task," or "job," as those are synonyms for "project." Let's continue...
I propose you say, "Today's trigger-fest is …"
I really appreciate your time and effort on these videos.
Steve with his shaky hands is a better cobbler and craftsman than any of his jealous critics could ever hope to be.
I have a few other projects for you, let’s start with sharpening a disposable knife blade, then straighten your flags in whatever order you see fit and make sure you have plenty of glue spilling out around your glue pot.
At first I was here to watch a high quality craftsman, now I feel like you’re an old friend regaling me with amusing stories and anecdotes whilst weaving your magic hands over shoes, boots , bags and so much more.
To your detractors, the first definition of “project” is “An undertaking requiring concerted effort.” And your projects certainly exemplify that! Always a pleasure watching your videos.
Peace.
Agree. Also if you don't plot your ideas to the paper it doesn't mean you have not planned them, so it should be called a project. Maybe even agile. Everthing in this world is made at least two times - once in the mind and then in the real world.
It is a project. The way he goes into every customer's shoe requests.
Clearly those who say your work aren’t “projects” are not in creative fields. I LOVE that you call these projects and not jobs. It shows that you view these as art projects that you create, not “work.”
I love that story about your dad.....makes me smile.
Project, project, project, project, project, project, project - what a great project Steve!
"This should be a short video."
Famous last words.
Steve has it all - charm, wit, and genius.
OLD LEATHER SMITH here. Great Job as always Steve. My hands shake 2, I asked my doc and was told it's because of what I do 4 a living. Pet peeves I get them 2, I realize where it's coming from and throw it away!! GOD'S BLESSINGS ✝️⚾🙃
Damn, I can’t follow a line on my ordinary sewing machine, you sir, are an artist.
Your videos are my weekend treats. Thank you for giving me a feeling there are still craftsmen who are caring loving & improving what they do. ❤️👍
Great story and memory of your father.
Loved this video....and the old pictures. They give your shop some texture/depth of the past. Please leave them there. And don't worry about what people think. It's yours not theirs. I wish I had your gift.
Lovely story at the end, Steve. So funny! I expect at least one person to have an issue with your calendar. "How DARE you find women beautiful!" 😂😂😂
I understand Lebanon was a very progressive place during the 1960s--Beirut was a jet-setter's paradise.
Remember...Coffee before shoe repair !! ☕️☕️👟😎👍
No Steve, you are NOT lying to yourself you ARE a genius. 👍😊 Great story about your dad. Love it!
Some days my project is going fishing on my boat. Next week my project is going bird hunting. I have a few home projects to get done to. Cutting my grass has always been a project. New projects every day.
With all that is going on in the world today... The last thing someone should be worried about us how Steve uses the word "project" or that his hands shake....id be willing to bet there life needs to put in order....and ill end my rant there....great work Steve....
Absolutely Bob Ross'd it when you came it with that "little bit of black". Finessed it.
You dropping the bobbins was pure comedy!! 🤣🤣🤣
Nice PROJECT and for those who make comments I tell you don't take them on account it's your work and you can call it as you like.
Not much of a job?
Man, this is different from a sole shoe.
It’s exciting. I didn’t even know one could repair these shoes.
Nice Job Steves
Some people have empty lives, and picking gnat shit out of pepper makes them feel better. Personally, it's your channel so do what you want and tell those people to take a hike! Very interesting and different project!
It's always a pleasure to listen to your Storys and watch your great craftmens skills
Hi Steve,
This one is for your Project friend. I was in Project Management for 40 years years so here goes.
Your projects have a defined goal. They have a start and an end. They have a resource (you) materials and machinery. They have a cost including overheads and hopefully profit. There is a client.
I think you execute a lot of Projects😂😂😂😂
You are a pretty good Project Manager in my Opinion.
Cool, thanks
Great “dad” stories.
Hi Steve, loved this 'project' and you are a genius, loved all your projects and look forward to new projects. Bet the critic of your use of project lives at home with his mum and spends a lot of time in his bedroom.
That fix you used, made the shoes look more expensive.
Looks super cool. I can see why the customer wanted em in your hands. Cool project!!
Nice “MacGyver” job, turned out very well.
For the guy complaining about "projects", Dennis Rader, aka BTK, used to call his kills "projects"!
I wonder if the person whining about your use of "projects" would complain to him about it?!! Lol!
As an artist I consider each of my commissioned pieces projects. Nothing wrong with it! That person seriously needs a life!
Have fun with your projects! We all love to watch a true craftsman at work!
Damn. That was a great "pivot" to make it work. Fantastic. Looks like factory work.
That customer brought you a pair of To Boot New York shoes and made them a UNIQUE pair of shoes!
Steve you are an artist with footwear.
The Voice: "Hey man, why you triggerin me man, wit dat Project stuff????? You gotta knock dat stuff off, or I'm outta here!!!" But really, they turned out great! Customer will be happy.
The dress shoe style upper, with a sneaker sole, is becoming more popular. Allen Edmonds now offers a factory resole on "dress sneakers".
Awesome story about your dad and those pictures
I love the video and love the pics of your dad. What a handsome man as is his son.
I had my pair of loafer recrafted back in the homeland. The way you did the rang (?) is the same exact way they did to mine. I didn't like the sole they used but it works just fine.
Excellent work you did that pair of shoes.
I like the calendar joke, GOOD ONE 😆
Of all the years watching your video. Its my first time seeing you use your patcher.
When I saw the price of these sneakers on their website, I could understand why he would prefer to resole them... (350$ a pair).
Wow surprised
You're an incredible craftsman and a fantastic storyteller. Thank you for sharing your life and your work with us Bedo!
Steve, this "project"came out great :) .I love your family stories
Thanks for sharing the story about your dad.
Steve, before you said you’re genius...I was thinking the exact same thing!!!! That is why you are an exceptional artist. As for it being called a project, it IS a project. You planned for the effort when you accepted the shoes for refurbishment. So keep on sharing your projects with us. They rock!!!!
Love the story about catching you Dad out Steve 🤣🤣great job on the shoes , “Hay Man” your PROJECTS are always well thought out and planned 👍👏👏👏🥰☕️☕️
Loved the story of your dad's pictures.
Steve, Rance here..:Enjoyed the video very much. It just occurred to me, you are really a leather reconstruction engineer specialist. Identifying as a cobbler does not do you justice.
Don't worry Steve, I'll call patching pants a project so you are very justified to say it (and we like it when you say it)
Bedos you are a magician! the funniest shoemaker on RUclips, respect to you
Steve should run for president. The man is a is a genius.
What a great PROJECT Steve. You might just have improved on the originals.
What PROJECT? It is simply a job well done!
That person must have a PMP cert and gets buthurt if anybody uses the work project in a way that isn't in his narrow world view.
To have come up with that rand/leather bead idea is indeed the work of a genuis. You have re-designed the design of that shoe..
I can imagine that person is a Project Manager that is feeling insecure right about now. Anyway, your project came out great! ;)
Another one! Steve you actually used that same idea one other time on a woman’s pair
Of shoes! Made the sneaker look way better too!
Nice story remembering your father
I love creative solution projects. Well done Steve!
Hence, the origin of an old saying: "Do as I say, not as I do." LOL Always fun to be able to bust dad's chops with his own words. Nice transformation of those sneakers. They turned out nice.
Thanks for showing us what a shoe patch machine is suppose to do. There is a sewing machine for leather from China for $110 that is taking the knife making and leather working contributors by storm.
My dictionary has a project as, “Any work that is undertaken or attempted”. But in any case, if “planning” was an essential element of a project, your work would still qualify. For example, you might plan to repair a pair of shoes once you’ve completed the work on that awful LV bag. And, having agreed with the customer what needs to be done, you have a plan of action to achieve it. Additionally, as with this particular project, you’ve had to order in materials in advance so you can do it. So, there’s both planning and a project.
I loved the story you shared about your Dad. It’s always wonderful to hear your memories of him. I have to say that it was strangely satisfying when you pulled the thread out of the sneaker. I kept thinking to myself, “don’t break, don’t break, don’t break!” And it didn’t! 😂 Awesome end job as always and creative problem solving. ❤️👍😊
As soon as i saw the new plastic sole i knew it would be too short 😆
The plans for this project were in your thoughts then projected on to the shoes, you sir are a true master of your trade. Hammer Time !!!
YES!
Great story and pictures of your dad 😄🤍 The shoes turned out AMAZING. You are so skilled!
Another excellent job, well done!👍
I had my first Farrah Fawcett poster at 9 years old, 1976 🙂
The meister of adoptation and craftmanship. Perfect job Steve
He does great work overall, but honestly, I think he works too hastily sometimes. Look at the accidental stab into the leather with the knife near the toe at 2:27. It's because of that that I would not call it perfect. Sometimes I feel like he rushes for the footage.
I'm probably a bit biased anyways because he talks while he works and I will always say that someone can work more carefully and delicately when they're not spinning yarns. I feel the same about barbers working on my hair.
My daughter likes your wrist watch, she's 4 years old!
Hello Steve 🙋🏽. I hope that you are doing well today ‼️ Steve you have a Genius Mind‼️ the way you figured it out was amazing 👍🏽❤️
Excellent PROJECT Steve... The save with the extra piece of leather is brilliant.
I especially like HAMMER TIME on your PROJECTS. Best regards from New Zealand.
Of course you are a genius! A Real craftman we are very lucky to learn from. Cheers from France
This is the reason I always say Steve is not a cobbler, he’s a surgeon.
I have seen similar shoes like those and often wondered how they’d stand up to a repair project such as this. You just demonstrated the depth of your knowledge and skill. Well done you. Great project.
Shine on Steve
Steve, You did a great job with those shoes. I'm sure your father in heaven is looking down on you and he is very proud. I had a farrah fawcett poster back in the day. lol!
Steve you are an artist.
Great work Steve, I was sceptical at first when you said about folding over the leather but once seeing the end result looks a million times better. Keep up they great craftsmanship 👍
They do look very nice. The leather that you added elevates the style of the shoe. I would be pleased.
"Today's misnomer is"...Nicely worked out "project" Steve. Thanks for posting.
Love the story about the pictures. Always enjoy your videos. Thanks
Steve, you must have a hat full of rabbits...really impressed with your fix. But, it proves "YOU da Man!" Well done good sir! Cheers from Texas!
Sir, you can call it whatever you want!!!
Projects, works best! I tell ya, people have nothing better to do then critic you?!!
People! Don’t watch it if you complain.
SMH
I always like your PROJECTS😜!!!!!!! And I like you working on your PROJECTS😜 and your PROJECTS😜 turn out AMAZING!!!🤗
Beautiful project. Attention to details makes the difference on top of great skills.
This was a big PROJECT . Nice how you tackle the problems,
It's your video Steve. You can say what you want. Some people don't seem to have anything better to do in their lives n they have to nitpick what others say. 👍👍👍🦘🦘🇦🇺🇦🇺
Hahaha 🤣😂 popcorn on a string !!
In my carpentry career I was made a project manager and every job I did had plans ! There's no project without plans !! There's all kinds of idiots out there Steve 🤣😂 love every job you do brother !
Another fabulous transformation!!! You really are a genius at what you do. I love every single video and I always learn something from watching you. Thank You!!!
I Enjoy watching your content and small conversation….. it’s like hanging out with you in shop! Keep the videos coming and continued blessings Steve 🙏
Very creative solution, Steve. And I LOVE that Complainer Guy showed up, too! As always, a beautiful job! You are a true shoe arteest!
Love the pops story. Thanks for sharing
Great work as always. Nice solution to a problem. I enjoyed your story re your father. Today is the 15th anniversary of my dad's passing.
Sorry for your loss
Very nice as always.
Now you should call everything a project, even heaving a coffee with a friend.
Speaking of which, I need to complete my project in the bathroom. Be right back.
@@TheNunakun Project of dump. :-)
Adding that rand improved the look of that shoe 100%. Nice clean lines. Great idea and even better execution 😎💪🏾
Hey Steve
Good job on that "PROJECT", cool photos your dad is a handsome dude. 👍
That sewing machine sounds like an Asthmatic Transformer!
