- This jacket was a mess, luckily the owner didn’t get hurt. The heated vest shorted out and it caught on fire. Burned the vest along with the jacket.

Great job! You saved a jacket that almost any of us would have tossed away.
Brings new meaning to the word “smoking jacket”. Great work.
Although it happened more than 20 years ago, I still remember the guy who used the slant zipper front pocket of his cowhide biker jacket as an ashtray at parties. The lack of air and cowhide leather, put the embers and butts out without a problem.
Everything was fine, until the night that he was wearing his new jacket and had not checked that the inner layer of the pocket was leather. What followed was like something out of a 1930's comedy film.
First people started commenting on the wisp's or smoke around his neck, but it took a while before he realised what was happening.
The moment when he realised and unzipped his jacket, then tried to casually put the smouldering lining and padding out with his hand was so funny. The funniest moment was when he had to take it off and let his girlfriend rub it out against the leg of her jeans to save damaging the carpet. Fortunately Levi's don't burn
He must have felt like such an idiot.
I need a Bedo's limited edition, signature hammer so I can go around all day saying, "Hammer time...let's continue" and randomly smack things...
While your family cowers in the bathroom.
😂😂😂
I concur!!!
I honestly didn't think a jacket with that much damage was possible to fix but u pulled it off...the leather whisperer that you are. Great job
Seems like someone wants to encourage the social distancing thing even more....with a bang (lol)
I know that these jobs would probably be a lot easier if you weren't filming them ...but I'm so glad you do . Thank you !
Steve, there is SO much involved in each custom repair you do. Every November-April I take a leathercraft class locally with a gentleman whose business is much like yours, and every time I realize that he/you must know the skills of a tailor, seamstress, cobbler AND leather crafter/jobber plus have all the necessary equipment, supplies, and know-how. I'm getting a bit too old to be learning all of this and to be able to acquire the necessary equipment myself, but still the process intrigues me. What I find hardest is envisioning how two-dimensional cutouts of leather turn into three-dimensional items and breaking down the complex task of building something elaborate in leather into steps that occur in the necessary and proper order. I've yet to learn how to use a sewing machine and dread just the 'How do I feed the thread through this crazy thing?' aspect much less how I maintain or fix something on the machine when something goes wrong with it. And I'm just too slow and perfectionistic to make my time invested in projects become a viable business, plus one needs a broader range of social skills for a leather business' varied customers than I have. All of this is my way of saying I understand enough of what you do to be very appreciative of looking over your shoulder in these videos to learn whatever I can.. My thanks to a a true multitasking genius--Don in Indiana.
Thank you friend
Nobody else can do this repair and have it come out looking like this, except Steveroo...!!! Amazing...GG IN
Having the two pockets match was a good plan. They'll patina together now. Nice save Steve.
Hi, I love to watch a master craftsman at work. As a seamstress, when I saw the pattern weight, I thought it was from the land of the giants, huge! The little strip of scrap fabric, the tab, glued into the coat hem and attached to the pocket lining, is called a "French tack".
Thank you
Wow Steve that's a pretty incredible overhaul, not sure too many folks would have even considered doing that...but then again you are "the man".
Watched one of your videos from 7 years past. What a difference 7 years makes. :))
I agree
What I first thought was just a shoe repair channel is waaaay more than that. Tailor, patternmaker, shoemaker, pretty wide ranging dynamic skill sets going on all up in here! It’s great to see what you can do when you find your niche.
Impeccable repair by a true craftsman.
*I've seen many of your videos, and I can't believe people whine about you sharpening your blades lol 😅🤣🤣🤣! They can simply mute the video for that short time lol 🤣🤣! But no, they go out of their way to make a dang comment about it, as if you're going to stop doing that lol 😂! It's good you make fun of them and have a good laugh! Then I also have heard you in other videoes where people complain that you don't sharpen them enough! Some people will never be happy lol 🤣🤣! Good on you for not letting these kinds of people get to you! I don't mind the sharpening and I don't mind the not sharpening of your tools. Your humor adds more to these vidoes! Love your work! Let's continue!! 😊*
Wow, Alot of Great work gone into that Jacket, what a wonderful Jacket too, I hope the customer enjoys it.
OMG I thought that was toast but Steve works his magic again.
Man I love it when you rebuild a jacket! That came out awesome brother! I’m still waiting for you to make a jacket from scratch! 😂
I’m happy to hear you in higher spirits these days. Great work, as always. 🤍
Bedo’s Leatherworks, Nice job rebuilding this Leather Jacket. It looks new. A lot of people wouldn’t have bothered but you saved a piece of the Owner’s history. I watched this video four times.
You make a badly damaged jacket repair look like a flowing piece of art. I love it. Thank you for sharing your skills & love for the trade with me & others. I too love my 'old stuff' like so many of your customers. You put new life into old leather!
Cutting those stitches at 5.40 was some serious ASMR. Love it
What can I say...another amazing restoration job by Steve & customer can enjoy his jacket for more years to come. 👏🙂
"The Voice" returns......."hey man, why you triggering me wit the cheapo sharpening....next thing I know, we'll be talkin 'bout da jerk wit a needle.....AHHHHHHHHH" Seriously though, I never thought it would come out that good given how bad it was when you first showed the damage........Nice job!!!
So I'm watching this with my 4 year old before she goes to Pre-K and I explained to her that the jacket got burnt and a few minutes goes by with her being silent until she asked if we could burn one of her jackets for you to fix. Had quite a lovely talk about how she will not be burning anything ever lol. Have a great day Steve!
Omg🤣🤣🤣
1.55 in "accreutt".. a genuine word from the City of Bristol in the UK.
Meaning: precise, exact, true, correct,
So good to hear the words of my people being spoken a long way from home but still holding their original form and reasoning........
Let's Continue 😊
Great repair of a burned out jacket. Crazy how you see how it can be done when others wouldn’t even try.
Hello Steve 🙋🏽. WOW I can't wait to see this repair ‼️ but if anyone can fix it you can ‼️ enjoy the rest of your day ‼️🤓.
Hi Steve, really enjoy watching you complete this sort of work. It's great to see your experience and talent on items other than footwear from time to time. One last thing....."Hurry up with the bags!.... I love a bag-video"...😂 Much love and respect to you and yours from the UK 😁👍
Steve, you are a true craftsman! Watching you work is almost hypnotic.
What a great craftsman you are, well done
Thanks, Steve, for another fine film. Thank you too for sharing your expertise and humour! It would be terrific if there could be a ‘customer reaction’ clip when you present them with the finished article! Best wishes from Great Britain.
Excellent work as always!
Damn, scary stuff. Imagine minding your own business, and the next moment in you're in flames. Great work Bedo, as usual, great repair.
Great job stitching! I couldn’t believe the transformation. That took a lot of patience and time. You’ve outdone yourself yet again. I hope the customer enjoys the jacket for years to come. Hopefully he won’t buy anymore electric vests. 😂 👍
Hi Steve, The offer still stands..."The Hammer Dude" lol. I'll send you an updated email
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Am really amazed how you treat leather, as celebrity surgeon qualified from royal college of surgeons, seriously man thanks ,keep your open learn academy running at youtube!
I see what needs to be done but I couldn’t execute that process if you gave me a year. You’re amazing at what you do.
Good job. Beats the heck out of replacing a beloved jacket.
I wish I lived in your area and not 3615 miles away as i would work for you for free lol not free but for knowledge. what an experience to learn from a master craftsman .
I honestly didn't think that that jacket with that much damage to it was even possible to fix but you pulled it off...the leather whisperer that you are. Great job
Spectacular job! Also, now I see how to line up zippers when I have to do one on a regular jacket !
I love your trick with the “ripper” on your corners. Thanks for the in-site
Insight
I just knew this was going to be good Steve even my wife watched this one with so now you have another fan 😊an amazing repair from Bedo’s thanks
I looks like a simple repair, but just to fix what looks like a pocket, take almost rebuilding an entire quarter of a jacket
Extraordinary…love your work ❤️❤️❤️
One of your most unusual rescues and one of the most interesting to watch... bravo!
I love your craft! You are very good at what you do sir. Thank you for sharing this.
That money was burning a hole in his pocket.
You are the master! Great job!
Beautiful work as always .
The difference in the lining is the opening line in the conversation about how you caught fire 🔥😍
I love when you do these types of videos.
Amazing! Miracle worker! I hope your customer appreciate the talent and determination.
Fantastic Steve. I’ve seen you do loads of jackets. Everyone a winner! Great job and great video.
Shine on Steve
You are the master! Great job…
You are are a true magician, love that trick about gluing an inch in from the seam very clever.
Good job - looks amazing. 😊
Electric vest fire? Yikes! Great restoration.
The jacket turned out beautiful. Think I'll stay away from electric vests...
Amazing work. You're such a craftsman. I love watching your channel. I'm always amazed at the fixes you pull off. You're like magic with leather!
Congratulations to the owner of this 'lucky' jacket!!!😊
Beauty job and it looks great! Great idea to do both pockets.
What a great save, Steve. The jacket looks great :)
OLD LEATHER SMITH here, Great Job Steve, Suggestion, strop the blade instead of sharping, you remove No metal and you get a razor edge. I even strop my exacto blades works great.
Another fantastic job. You ARE the man!!
I think you should continue to sharpen the disposable blades in the ripper! Waste not want not!!! I find that when I make a mistake when sewing, the pathetic seam rippers are not strong enough to cut some of the threads I use. And they are nuts to try and sharpen! You keep on keeping on!!! 👏
Only a true craftsman would even attempt something like this! I remember your repair of the college football(or fraternity?) red and white leather jacket! Another amazing repair on that one also! God Bless!( don't know if the red and white leather was before or after this video)
Dear Steve,
Don't forget to tell everyone to hit the BELL button to receive all notifications! (I should have used the word icon instead of button, but it made me think of belly button, so I left it the way it was!) Lol!
This was just what I needed this evening. I enjoyed this repair so much, and you were absolutely masterful as always!
Thank you!
Lisa
Honestly...how in the hell do you keep track of all the parts? The repair was awesome and a good jacket stays out of the landfill and gets a new life. Amazing. Great job Steve.
I love your videos! I learn so much! This jacket restoration is excellent! 👏🎉💫
Beautifully made! You’re brilliant!
Wonderful job Steve 👍🏻 👌🏻
i didn't blink at all steve was paying close attention to it.
It looks great! You do such good work! ❤️
Omgoodness.. that's terrifying! Amazing work like always!
Brilliant work, Steve
You do wonderful work sir.
Another fantastic job from the Master. 👍
Love jacket repairs!! Thanks!
Amazing outcome once again. Thumbs up !!!
I didn't think that jacket was repairable. Visited my local cobbler last week to condition and shine my Thursday boots. Told them about your channel, so maybe you get another follower!
hey Steve it's hammer time on all channels .-)) Great job = Good Boy
great job.
BTW the hum from the sewing machine motor drive me crazy, my mother used to have a pfaff with the same hum
You absolute master, it looks perfect
Awesome craftsmanship!
I sharpen disposable blades too.
I do not need to worry about having to deal with disposing of these blades when I can just sharpen it and keep going.
perfectly done Steve. Cheers from Down Under / Karl💪
That job was smoking!.... another great restoration from the one and only Steve.
Well Steve this was a hard one. If I was the owner of that jacket I would have contacted the manufacture if that heated vest.Took pictures and made sure they bought me a new jacket. There was only do much you could do with that. The jacket was worn you did your best.
Toujours un plaisir de vous regarder travailler. Bonjour du Québec.
True Craftsman. Brave, too!
I remember when Orvis made quality stuff.
Those are the hands of a master! Wow!
