I’m 19 in San Bernardino California I got my CDL march 1st and got lucky and found a job the next day but I didn’t start my first day of work until the 7th. I of course had no experience but it’s a small company that also has box trucks so my boss hired me as a box truck driver at first because he tested my driving and I didn’t have the 10 speed mastered yet so he didn’t want me in a 10 speed on the road yet. Like 2 weeks later he had me going with the semi truck drivers and made them let me drive so I got some more practice as I just had to get used to peterbilt because I was used to freightliner and it’s different in my opinion. Now I’m doing deliveries just like you but I deliver pallets full of snacks candy groceries and drinks to mostly liquor stores and colleges and other market type of stores. Getting my CDL was the best decision I was recently working two jobs prior to getting the CDL and now that I have a driving job im making more money then I was with the 2 jobs. If you’re under 21 and feel like you should wait because the odds are against you, I say pull the trigger and take the risk like I did. By the time I’m 21 I’ll have the experience and resume to go apply to pretty much any job I want with no restrictions like underage or under experienced. It’s not easy but it’s worth it.. the 4 weeks I was in school I was already applying to jobs I applied to over 150 jobs on indeed and offerup and Facebook and any other job site. Got denied about 50 times and never heard back from the rest. Don’t waste your time working at warehouses or fast food or retail especially if there’s nothing literally holding you back from getting your CDL.

I believe this company at the moment is paying 23hr plus overtime like 30 something. Its a good job to get experience. Or if you like working out🤣 thanks for the support!!
