Parts I have used:
1. BEAST eGPU adaptor (version with PCIe(mini) cable)
- it will depend on your laptop capabilities so before buying check what slots you have available in your laptop)
- In my case it was M.2 WIFI slot.

But at that stage could be that there are better versions out there.
I think that the crucial here is adaptor from WIFI slot to PCIE - rest should work the same way.
2. M.2 A/E.A+E Key Adaptor M.2 A/E.A+E to PCIe(mini)

3. External power supply 300W should be enough

4. Graphic card
- in my case it is overkill to install RTX 3060 the max speed I am getting Pcie link @ 2.0 x1

One important thing about H.P. is they limit on what you can do on YOUR computer. The BIOS limits you on a lot of things. I now scrap any H.P.'s someone gives me because of this. I also will NEVER buy another H.P. product because of this. They limit you on what you can do forcing you yo upgrade to new H.P. that in a couple years will do the same thing. H.P. just wants to milk as much money from you as possible!!!

I bought mini-pcie header but my laptop actually uses A/E M.2 slot.

Update:
I received similar A/E m.2 to mini pcie adapter like yours and my p106-100 recognized by windows 11 (with warning sign in device manager).
The problem was, and still is, the modified/patched nvidia drivers were failed to loaded by by windows with error message: "this device cannot start. (code 10) insufficient system resources exist to complete the api".
Stiil figuring out what was wrong, perhaps caused by Windows version.
Then i tried to directly connect the same gpu card through mini pcie header to my old Veriton mini pcie slot, weirdly it is working normally but with severe bottleneck.
But i could run some games and Unigine Heaven & Valley without any issues, except for terrible fps; but at least much better than onboard intel hd 4400.

@@izcyk Hi! Update: It did work on my Acer Aspire ES1-431 notebook Intel Pentium N3700 variant. It achieved an unbelievable 30+ fps on GTA 5 with medium high graphics on this low end notebook. Of course with a decent GPU. Only problem is loading time, it took like 3 minutes to load.
All games tested and my experience so far:
GTA 5: Somewhat good
Teardown: Good (40-60fps)
BeamNG Drive: BAD (Extreme cpu bottleneck, always max @2.40Ghz, performance is just unplayable)
Sims 4: (Medium High, ok) (Ultra, Acceptable)
Playdead's Inside: Excellent (High)

Hello, I would like to know if I can put an egpu on my HP notebook I want to put the GTX 1650ti 4gb It has an i5 7200u and 16gb of ram. And an input m.2 a key
Its gonna be a terrible bottleneck becuse the pcie slot in the laptop (or adapter) has 16 times less bandwith than any modern gpu (pcie 3.0 1x oppose to pcie 3.0 16x or 4.0 8x). In terms of performance thats likely 4-8 times slover than using it in a desktop + the bottleneck becuse of the Cpu in the laptop is weak (game dependent but mostly none becuse the gpu is already so bottlenecked). Also you need an additional psu with makes it wery uncomfortable. Maybe with newer laptops that have multiple m.2 slots (witch is pcie 3.0 or 4.0 4x) it could work fine but if you dont have a spear gpu and psu just dont do it.

Is there a way to take the two m.2 slots for SSD (4 lanes).... so you would get PCIe 8 Lanes with M.2? But if these sort of new graphic cards only need PCIe 4.0 8 lanes then it might work.
Too bad there wasn't laptops with a PCIe 4.0 full 16 lanes port on the side of the laptop for external gpus.

from m.2 nvme slot, it would be like 20-30% decrease, almost the same with thunderbolt 3 connection.
BUT what if we use eGPU not for gaming???
what if we do this to improving productivity like photoshop? illustrator? rigging puppet? animations? video editing? after effect? deep learning? Ai? etc. then FPS doesnt matters
FPS only matters for twitch streamers, esport champion, and they still using cheat anyway so eGPU is not their primary requirement.

If your motherboard has Pci Express mini then you do not need adatpter. Just the Beast Cable or similar.

From my research I found that some people had to modify bios and enable "bright" list hardware not sure there were few mentiones that that some brands are restricting decices. But maybe it all is just a myth, you moght be first to find out ;)

Have you installed mentioned patch ? Have you blocked automatic driver instalation in win registry ? As the integrated one need to have drivers uninstalled and disabled.

Hey, do you know if you need to use a WIFI M.2 -> Mini PCIe -> PCIe adapter chain or if I can just find an adapter that is WIFI M.2 -> PCIe and skip the Mini PCIe adapter?

Im on a mini pc windows 11 pro , my device manager shows the integrated intel and rtx 3050 ti laptop and the external gtx 1080 ti ftw3 but the egpu shows code 43 error and i cant disable the integrated ones , did you have to enable/disable anything else for it to get it working?
Uninstall drivers for igpu, block windows automatic driver detection I guess this was the one, search for it HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\DriverSearching. Install patch mentioned for this error.

Just ensure that your egpu I powered before the laptop and also that the Monitor/ Display is connected also.

I added HardwareIDs of my integrated GPU to Device Installation Restrictions section and also disabled plug and service, but still can't get the laptop to detect the GPU

I disabled the installation of integrated graphic card (in my case AMD Radeon R6 Graphics) and tried to install the patch but patch installation did not work since my laptop can’t find any Nvidia GPUs

How about ext graphic card, are you confident that it is powered correctly, do you have any indication that the graphic card is powered and up and running. Windows should be able to discover device, even as a unknown device. Double check power supply on your egpu. Ensure that you are not connecting egpu into hard drive dedicated slot. It should be the one where you had WiFi or mPCI Not sure what else it can be. If possible check if egpu is realy working with Desktop PC plugged into Mother Board into PCI/AGP slot.

I tested the outout of power supply with multimeter and everything is fine(12 V)
I am also sure that I'm using wifi slot (My laptop is hp pavilion as yours)
However my laptop has detected an unknown device but I can neither install the Nvidia Driver nor the patch
I also updated the PCI Express drivers
When I reboot, both power supply and GPU fans start turning and I see green light on EXP GDC but the eGPU still can not be detected
FYI: When I reboot, my laptop has 'Microsoft Basic Display Adaptor' in 'Display adaptors' installed; I couldn't really prevent that from installing automatically

I recomend use vga from 750ti up to 1050ti other than that the performance drop like crazy

@@anand.b6883 it’s not up to the cpu , the pcie lanes get saturated, you are using mini pcie express is (1x pcie) , m.2 is better (4x pcie) , for reference a Normal pcie gpu plugged in a normal pcie slot needs (16x lanes) , ofc I am talking gen 3 pcie , a 750ti might not be able to saturate 16x in fact not even a 8x , that’s why 1050ti is probably the max before you run into very bad bottleneck.

Hi, as you have dedicated GPU in your laptop you should try to disable it in bios If you can't do so in bios you might need to disconnect your egpu hardware, switch laptop as normal, remove drivers to your dedicated gpu then open Windows Group Policy and prevent windows to install drivers and also disable plug & play service. Try to switch on again.
Also make sure that you do connect your external monitor to your External gpu as it might not display on your integrated LCD. Let us know if you managed to move forward. Best of luck. From what I researched you can't do that I found some reports that on some laptops it might be possible, but without test we won't find out ;)
as far as i know, msata and pcie interface r very different.. even though u manage to get cable for msata, the gpu wont detect and wont show up coz msata is used only for storage devices where as pcie is used for audio cards, video cards and wifi cards.. m.2 and ngff somehow linked with pcie lane.. so u wont find the cable online.. if u try to make one by urown, u may end up causing fire or shorts..
@@greenfair569 no no u cant.. msata is purely for storage and its connected via storage lanes like sata and optical drives.. minipcie, m.2 and ngff are linked with pcie lane.. so these 3 interfaces only r able support video cards, audio cards n wifi cards (with a lot of drivers and patching) .. msata wont support video cards..

and all this hassle just for connect 3060 - (for me, would be) much easer just sold your laptop and buy something on RTX 3060+10300H
p.s. you self limit your bandwidth for textures with this cable connection and thru this limit - potential for even 3060 for FPS higher than 40-50 on high settings for texture.
I mean if on same setting 3060 on desktop will have 100-120fps - with same setting because of cable you will have 40-50...but hope you use this "sceme of connection" al least couple years without high fps drop....

The idea to present you made well but if I can advise you should keep camera on stative to avoid shaiking the pictures which really disturbing with well understanding.Try again as this movie is quit helpfull but also be undestand with proper presentation.
