In out, in out shake it all about, mate you have a great vision for making things difficult, i love it. Can’t wait to see her go, need lots of in car footage……
This is Brilliant Steve, I was hoping to do the same thing here in Aus but was a bit apprehensive as I came across allot of people saying it couldn't be done but here we are :)
Let me see if I got this right, essentially, on a stock XKR, the 8HP could potentially bolt onto the 4.2 V8 with minor modifications? The hardest part would be TCM and ECU, which, using the MaxxECU may not be too big of a problem. If so that is insanely good news. I would prefer to do a manual swap, but it’s good to have options. This seems like it physically may be easier than a manual swap
Hi sorry to be cheeky! I am just embarking on the build of an off road car (comp safari) using an ajv8 with an 8hp could you possibly divulge the dimensions of your spacers for the flex plate just to give me a head start!! Thanks in advance
Hey m8, I saw you on the MAXXX page and I was googling the 8HP and you came up again. I am hopefully aquiring an xk8 soon. How bad was it to flash the soft?
CANTCU will only work on the BMW TCU AFAIK. Same as Turbolamik. The HTG would be a potential, but I don't really want to have any extra controllers. It's an extra failure point. We've already got the MaxxECU Pro running the engine etc. We're dealers for MaxxECU anyway, so makes perfect senses to make use of it, and prove the product. :-)
@@bespincustompropsbombarta8300 Yeah, I also thought they were the same. I got a friend to line them up, as he had both there. They didn't match up. I wasn't there personally, but I trust him.
Just been directed to this video by a mate. This could be a game-changer for us X100 owners!
Loving this! Ned to come see you/it!😊
Ahhh my wish came true! Hello spike
Absolutely love it! It's great when a plan just comes together! Can't wait to see this on the grid!
Great bit of work Steve 👏👏

Absolutely bloody brilliant

People say that all the time right!? Before they've even bothered to look normally! 🤣
So incredibly true! Can't wait to see how Cinderella runs when she's all setup!@@TuningShed
excellent content, loving the progress !!!
Great video mate, keep it up

Precisely that it would seem. That said, it's not actually working yet! 🤣🤣 But it appears thats the case! Watch this space I guess! 🤣

Excellent work , have you any choices with torque converter or can you adjust stall with your ECU wizardry?
Im on maxxecu, AWD zf8hp75 on my RX7 :D
Reckon we can do this on a 300ZX / VG30DETT? :D

Have you looked at canTCU for controlling the 8HP? - I've recently used it with a M57 but know its getting used in a few proper race cars...

I could be interested in your old clutch and flywheel if its for sale as it would give me a starting point for my manual conversion
I won't be selling I'm afraid, I've got another project in the background that's destined for. :-)
That's cool it was worth a shot thanks for getting back to me
Isn't the 8 speed in the XFR the same as the diesel one?
The bellhousings are different. But the internals are the same. :-)
@@TuningShed I thought the 5.0 was the same engine just bored and stroked, is it a completely different block then?

@@TuningShed ah just checked, the 5.0 is an all new block design.
@@bespincustompropsbombarta8300 Absolutely right, I was just surprised they changed the bellhousing pattern honestly.
R53!
