You should come over to my channel and see my 99 xj8 converted to an LS1 built all on stock differential. I did do a one piece driveshaft otherwise I would have twisted mine as well. I do love the XK8 models, thinking about getting one for a 6.0l conversion.

For higher horsepower, there is a growing movement to repower x100's and older XJS's with modern American V8, commonly the Gen3 LS1 onwards. Kits are available for some time now for plug and play for LS1/2/3 and 6 speed manual T56/Tr6060. Tuning potential and tuning parts is vast. extremely reliable and strong engines. For example, Richard Holdener, a dyno King in the US, has taken a junkyard 5.3 (Gen3/4 motor), ring gapped the pistons and slapped on a couple of turbos set to maximum boost, trying to find the maximum limits of an old stock engine (Big Bang Theory episodes on youtube). Ran to 26-29psig and 1,300-1,400bhp, and still held together. I have several LS1 and transmissions in my garage which I will fit into an older XJS later to give modern reliability and economy.

Pwm messes up the battery slowly & silently n worst when the warranty has expired & on factory PCM messes up the throttle position sensors fuel injectors when it starts messing up or fan ,& the whole system is expensive in the long run , that's why j99-02 or 03jeep grand Cherokee wj i6 4.0 242 had them then they did not renew contract on 04 went back to the relay but the called it a relay cause went burn it stuck open circuit letting fan run full speed all the time when engine off after market closed circuit ,, old school brush fans , the brushless have had flaws , they can't really run reverse of what there are made for ,, dust debris inside messes them up , there still working on them which some don't burn easily even if water gets in that's what they say

Pioneering more than actual Jaguar now. How feasible would it be to apply the maxx ecu, 4.0 ajv8, and a manual box into an 87 XJ6 chassis?

It’s a common issue when folks change the rear pads they do not clip the wires in properly at the rear left. When the vehicle travels at speed the plug and socket waves around. I’ve found the break on a few, always in the same area, on the van side of the plug socket just where the wires dissapear into the insulation. I usually peel it back and solder a new section in.
