Lukas is the GOAT and definitely deserves the recognition - so skilled - pulls out amazing work in crunch - and produces top tier work when he’s still short on time 👍🏿
Yes to more army videoes, no to making them 24hr marathons. It's good for the algorithm but not your health. seeing you progress on your army even if it's in a handful of videoes rather than one long wild weekend is still satisfying. Maybe set a particular event as a goal and see if you can get an army painted for an event or paint a particular model as good as you can for that event?
These are the best type of Squidmar videos, amazingly painted models and finished projects at the end of the video with some steps on how it was done through the process.
I love the look of the army, the style Lucas uses somehow really shouts dynamic comic book in a way that truly compliments the grey knights. I hated the basing until it was painted, just couldn't understand the shaping and now I'll be stealing it for my next army
Congratulations! Beautiful army as always. Looking forward to your next project as always. Now give Emil a poke about that custom Gargant Army he's working on.
Thanks for the game at 17:28! That was a beautiful army and although I feel the idea of it wasn't to make a horribly competitive list, I still felt it was a fun game and you were a very friendly opponent. So thanks for a great show! I felt somewhat saddened I didn't end up on the best in show selection myself, but I'll have to come back with a grand display tray and some free-handed banners next time!
I've never played a tabletop strategy game in my life- not even D&D. (Wasn't for lack of interest, just never got around to it) This channel makes me want to start... I never thought watching other people meticulously paint miniatures could be so satisfying.
I have totaly opposite :D Yes sure the impression "What kind of magic is it" is always with me when they are paiting so good and so QUICK (yes freaking army in a week which looks good as hell is quick - even if you didn't make it in 24h :D ) - but in the same time there is "teach me this magic masters!" :D
Lukas, you hands down killed it. That was an incredible and gorgeous use of DA models for a Black Templar army. Truely, bravo. Very happy to see a video showcasing your perspective as well as some more Maxim. The Squidmar team is what makes this content so enjoyabke.
I'm trying to imagine a full American competition being announced in Spanish. I have so much respect for all of the European countries actively learning and speaking 2+ languages.
16:09- Sorry, 1 more thing! The face in this time stamp is beyond insane!!! Wow! That’s not only at the top of any level of painting! That is top level in the highest levels of painting!!! Best 1 word to describe this is “perfection”!!!
I know that not everyone can be a great painter, but it still upsets me when I see Emil and Lukas paint really fast and really accurate. For me to get that accurate I have to go really really slow lol. But seriously brilliant work mate.
Lukas!!!!! You did it! I am so proud of you! You're a light in the hobby that so many can follow. What a stand up example of how if you put the work in, you can achieve it. Bravo!❤
Struggling with my pile of shame black templar army this gave me motivation not only to paint my models but make sure I like the way they look instead of rushing through to complete them. Good work Lukas!!
Lucas, the painting you accomplished was absolutely amazing. Jaw-dropping. Absurdly beautiful! You are now the master. You must take Emil under your wing and teach him ... get him to stop using those IKEA acrylic paints or something.
I find it entertaining to see you guys paint against the clock, but I would really like to see your army painted with care over a weeks time with little to no barriers. I started watching this channel because I wanted to learn how to paint, now I watch more to be inspired to paint. You guys are really good, and I want to see your best efforts, not your best challenges, if you get my meaning. Keep up the great work, I know there is a lot of work to churn out a video each week. Love what you do.
Surprisingly this is probably the best example of that we'll ever get ! Lukas did stay painting for 24h on this but took his time to perfect everything on this army throughout the following two weeks !
8:33 it'd be smarter if you turn on the lights in the room. When it gets dark, the melatonin levels rise and make you tired. So bright light in the room along with some Red Bull might help. Also B12 or an Apple/fruits will help too.
Looks absolutely incredible! You should be so proud. If i were to add one tiny thing, i would drybrush the tufts a bit. It would really make the bases match the grimdark, high contrast feel of the models.
There was some stiff competition but that was a derserved win for Lukas. It takes more than just technical painting skills to make a modern SM army look that characterful and interesting.
Absolutely great paint job and paint scheme you did! The Lion model is out of this world and the jumping dreadnought is fantastic. I hope you do a separate video on the Lion paint scheme.
Thanks for another good time with you guys :D You really make it a great time to watch you guys having fun with everything you do around minis, editing, painting, playing and winning big and small prices. You've won my heart many a time with your fellow scandinavian fun and lessons. So keep at it - the whole team, you guys are the best! And I hope you have a great time with your coming adventures, I'll keep following
It would be awesome if you guys could make a tutorial on how to paint bases like these! I always struggle with painting rocks, walls etc. They seem to be following different rules of volumetric lighting :D.
I have just 48 hours to build and paint my entire Dark Angels army for a tournament this weekend! So decided to take my time and have fun with my models and hang out at this tournament and chill instead.
its just so cool watching you have fun painting and therefore filling my most beloved channel with life! you did an awesome job lucas, congratulations!!
Wow, that army turned out amazing. Great job! For next fanatic it would be cool if you could snatch some high quality photos of all the best in show nominees.
Wow…just wow. Stunning army to the effing man. Gorgeous detail. I hope you keep it for yourself, but if you sell it or auction it, do it piece by piece. Each one is a masterpiece that would stand alone.
Sweet army Lucas. Don't worry if it sucks on the battlefield, GW will change the rules, point values etc soon...it might be highly competitive after that!
I think your dear editor should praticipate in a 24hr army painting challenge, and if he fails, Emil grows out his beard, and if he wins Lucas will make a sick train diorama
Lucas, I'm super happy for you man! You put in the work and it showed, your army looked fanfuckingtastic! I really liked your style of painting on these minis.. its a bit gritty but in a clean way! Very well executed as well! I think the 24hr challenge was a bit ambitious given the level of painting you were striving to achieve, I'm just glad you had enough time before the tournament to finish it up! Well deserved best in show my dude!
Congrats, Lucas. I think I maybe said this on another video, but I like that your Marines look a bit more real and less cartoony than is sort of standard. Their armor looks "lived in."
Would love to see a painting playing challenge. Something like 24 hours to paint and then play games but only get get play with what finished.Would need an independent judge to decide what finished but yeah :)
It’s not easy being Lucas, all he want to do is create train dioramas. Poor guy.
I'd watch that.
Omg, leave enough coments so Emil actualy bugs lucas to make a train diorama xD
Simple, no cookies till he builds a train diorama 🤷🏻♂️😅
The coolest 40k train diorama ever!
@@schneiderdark9132 being lucas, he will put in a working engine and lights to get the "correct" feeling from it.
Rattlecan directions: apply when ambient temperature is between 10 and 30⁰c.
Swedes: (Laughter)
Lmao just a nice soak in hot water will do them well
I was thinking the same thing as soon as he started priming outside!
Maxim's Ork army deserves a showcase video, come on now
I'll second that!
a "GRAND REVEAL!" if you will XD but yes absolutely :)
100%
Also down for that!
Absolutely it does!
The "Please, I have family" was so hilarious, like Emil didn't even care lmao 😂😂😂
That one had me laughing for a while xD
Got me too :D
here's the actual subtitles if anyone cares :P
Emil: "Nice. Congratulations! Great work!"
Oskar: "Thanks, I was so damn nervous!"
Emil: "Yeah :)"
@@ecMonify thanks ☺️
But I think Mr. Editor did the correct subtitles lol
"Please I have a family" Then why did you enter the same competition as us
Lukas is the GOAT and definitely deserves the recognition - so skilled - pulls out amazing work in crunch - and produces top tier work when he’s still short on time 👍🏿

"Finishing 5 dudes is taking me a little bit too much time..." hö hö hö 4:30
I thought I was the only one who laughed at this 😂
Why does it seem like you live in the area with all the warhammer da vinci painters🤣
I guess that 9 month winter encourages the hobby ha
These are the best type of Squidmar videos, amazingly painted models and finished projects at the end of the video with some steps on how it was done through the process.
totally agree with you
I love the look of the army, the style Lucas uses somehow really shouts dynamic comic book in a way that truly compliments the grey knights.
I hated the basing until it was painted, just couldn't understand the shaping and now I'll be stealing it for my next army
Congrats to Lukas!!!! Such a beautiful and original W40K army.👏👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Grats Lucas, @Emil give him 1/2 a cookie .. no chocolate chips, raisins only
Aaaah look at that sweet sweden summer 1:50
Please help us
no joke there was one day early may that it did snow on. and i live pretty far down in sweden. FML
Is that the timestamp or how long summer goes for?
@@Peron1-MC we had in germany snow in may. At the morning we had 30cm. After i came from work it was gone (thank god) :D
That comic book style black metal is absolutely insane!

Welcome, one of us, one of us
Lukas is the kinda dude who makes me want to give up painting
like wtf is this Actual Sorcery
Seriously, he's one of the few painters where I look at the reveals and I can't understand what techniques, layers, etc. were used.
Lukas just makes me perk up whenever he has a video.
...partly because I want to see if he takes his hat off. He's very handsome without it.
I have totaly opposite :D Yes sure the impression "What kind of magic is it" is always with me when they are paiting so good and so QUICK (yes freaking army in a week which looks good as hell is quick - even if you didn't make it in 24h :D ) - but in the same time there is "teach me this magic masters!" :D

man, your miniature's faces are unreal. They have such character. They come alive like nothing I've ever seen before. A well deserved win.
You are a champion in my book Lucas!
Maxim's Ork army was very cool too.
Congrats Lukas. It is unbelievable too see how fast you do the NMM Gold on your minis. Awesome Army!
Lukas: Spraypaints outside in the coldest winter in years and paints non-metallic metal
Also Lukas: "Speedpainting :)"
Congratulations Lukas! The freehand on the big banner was incredible. Great army!
I'm trying to imagine a full American competition being announced in Spanish. I have so much respect for all of the European countries actively learning and speaking 2+ languages.
Emil being such a gangster "I know where you live" 😂 Congrats to Lukas and Maxim!

That army deserved Best in Show! The patterns on the paint were beautiful, the poses and bases interesting. Well done, Lucas!
Kudos for consistently putting out the best content in the miniature realm

Those space marines look truly awesome. It's no surprise that you won. This was an amazing video. Thanks for sharing!
Probably my favorite space marine paint job of all time. Well done.
Looks absolutely incredible! You should be so proud.
If i were to add one tiny thing, i would drybrush the tufts a bit. It would really make the bases match the grimdark, high contrast feel of the models.
The texturing on those minis is incredible....wish I could paint like this!!

Fantastic looking army Lukas! Well done. Hopefully the fruits of pushing yourself and achieving a good result is more than enough in its own right.
Competition prep is easily one of my favorite parts of your channel, please keep it up!
Such an amazing video!
Please more templars
I must say this is one of the best armies ive seen. Super awesome looking. Ive never done warhammer so this makes me want to go buy my first minis : )
That army is simply AMAZING
I will never not be awed by how amazing you get those bases looking, so painterly and just gorgeous! Congrats on the win

That is the best army painted on this channel and holy heck is that a thing to write!
Maxime's Ork army looked INCREDIBLE as well!
AMAZINFG DUDE CONGRATS!!! So glad you won, both 24 hour videos for you and squidmar so much fun to watch
Congrats Lukas!!! Well done and much deserved. Now its Emil's turn to win, have to video that one!!
Lukas is a freak... what an artist ❤
Love your awesome content throughout the years. Really encouraged me to up my painting.
Lukas! This army is phenomenal! Superb paintjob my friend!
Beautiful army Lucas! Thank you Emil for paying him to finish this master piece 💪🏼🙏🏼
I have just 48 hours to build and paint my entire Dark Angels army for a tournament this weekend! So decided to take my time and have fun with my models and hang out at this tournament and chill instead.
A bunch of nice armies there but the win was well deserved. The paint job on Lucas army was soooo good.
Super happy for you man! Hella sick to see one of you get a best in show! Well earned!!
its just so cool watching you have fun painting and therefore filling my most beloved channel with life! you did an awesome job lucas, congratulations!!
Wow! Congratz Lukas! It was the freehand that made it outstanding.
Wow, that army turned out amazing. Great job! For next fanatic it would be cool if you could snatch some high quality photos of all the best in show nominees.
Awesome job man love how it came out! Congrats on the DUB, well deserved 🫡👏👏👏
So dope, your style and art interpreation is sooooo inspirational. Always enjoy a good Lucas video. Top Tier Job
Dude the ballistus dreadnought vaulting over the rocks is SICK!!!
The army looks amazing. It would be nice to know what colours you used and all the details of the process. Congrats!
You guys are crazy and you know it. Irt's a very wise thing.
Amazing job, you know it can't be quick and you still want to do it.
The army looks beautiful. I love how painterly it came out

Wish you two would make more in-detail tutorial videos, I kinda miss those from you :)
the paint job are insane on all of those.
Finally 👏 👏 👏 Your works are amazing, Lukas. You deserve this award, and many more, everything is ahead of you 👍 Congratulations 👏👏👏
Sweet army Lucas. Don't worry if it sucks on the battlefield, GW will change the rules, point values etc soon...it might be highly competitive after that!
That painted army is amazing! The competition was fierce! Congratulations on your win!
That army genuinely looks amazing. very impressive

Lukas's army looks like a John Blanche painting popped off the page and onto the tabletop.
Amazing Paintjob. So far your best looking Army! Congrats to the win!
I've had terrible luck priming in cold weather. I live in Michigan (USA) so I sprang for a small paint booth. So worth it.
Congrats, Lucas. I think I maybe said this on another video, but I like that your Marines look a bit more real and less cartoony than is sort of standard. Their armor looks "lived in."
The army looked fantastic, I really liked the posing you did on the dreadnought.
SUUUPER Sick looking army Lucas !!
I like the minimal chapter symbol you chose/made. The simplicity is really great less is more sometimes 👍
Would love to see a painting playing challenge. Something like 24 hours to paint and then play games but only get get play with what finished.Would need an independent judge to decide what finished but yeah :)
Yo that parkour dreadnaught is siiiiiiiick
WOW!! I love how you´ve painted that army!!
I'd love to see more Lukas and Maxim go to tournaments like in vlog form or something!
as a hobby crafter, would have loved to see how you did all the posing and basing for the dreadnoughts
If that is not Grim Dark nothing is. Helvetes så snyggt! BRA JOBBAT!
I'm not very fond of Black Templars, but this is one badass looking team. Such a unique take on their color scheme.
Damn, one tournament and ALL of those amazingly painted armies! Wow.
jesus all those armies are amazing, the clean space marines and the Converted Ogres are my fav
Amazing work Lucas, well deserverd! Any chance of seeing a detailed painting video of this army? Please?! 🙂🙂🙂
I'd love to see a video of your studio, paint room. Etc :)
Fading out on that line at 11:21 is comedy gold lol
Those look amazing. I’m not even really upset about out the heresy of defiling The Lion for your Marshall. 😬👌🏼
