The same day we got the brand new League of Votann army box for Warhammer, Lukas and I decided to stay awake for 24 hours to paint up an army each in a battle for the ages.
It's now up to you to decide in the comments who the winner of the 24h challenge is - and the one you gets the least votes - is forced to do another 24h painting marathon.

Emil is the reason i started painting miniatures, but with that being said i have to give it to Lucas. His style complimented those dwarves perfectly. Felt like some Warcraft concept art.

I have to go with Lukas, the two armies are beautiful, but the faces of Lukas' army are just extremely well painted!
The faces on Lukas' dwarves look amazing, and Emil's is quite colourful. I like the paint scheme on the dwarves and they were done from scratch, so I think my vote goes to Lukas.
The blue great unclean one is spectacular, no doubt. But the details across lucus' army I think, especially the faces, earned him the win. Good job guys, great video. Thank you.

I’m impressed with how well you both did under the pressure of a 24 hour timeline…but I think Emil just nudged ahead as my favourite. I love the variety of colour and tones he created in his minis. Great work guys.

Emil FTW. Amazing color scheme, love it. Lucas as always did a great job, but painting armor against organics IMO is no competition when both painters are of an equal talent.

Imma go with Lucas, the new "Space dwarves" looks amazing, and with that paint job i look forward to collect them for myself.
Such a hard choice. Those dwarve heads are painted to perfection and prefer the cohesive color scheme. But Emil knocked it out of the park on what he did and that Glotkin deserves its own Diorama!

Emil it harder with so many more models, so no surprise that Lucas is the winner here. Both outstanding paint schemes and they both win for managing to stay awake for this grind!

They are both awesome armies, especially for such a short time. Even though I like the Nurgle minis more, I have to go with Lukas' neo-Squats.
I would give it to Emil for this one. To me it looks like he was able to paint more of his force to a higher standard compared to Lucas, who seems to have not had enough time to push some of the models past the streaking grime stage of his process. I also like how colorful Emil’s army is.
Lucas did very well, but some of Emil's models, the ones that were fully painted are just a cut above, maybe even 2 cuts above. 17:50 won me over. It actually almost looks *alive* especialy around the face. My god, I knew I had a ways to go but yeesh, I don't know if I'll ever be able to be that good.
Both of you did an unreal job in 24hrs but Lukas took the Votann to an incredible level. 🎉
Lucas managed to actually finish the army from scatch so for me he won, although Emil had way more minis and bigger models so from the start he was doomed. I say both should do the next 24 hours challenge!
Emil has it by a whisker. Lukas killed it with those faces, but there is so much character popping from the children of Pappa Nurgle, it comes out on top
Definitely have to give it to Emil, you had way more on your plate and brought everything up to an amazing standard regardless of how many you had on your plate... Lucas did knock those faces out of the park, those are some next level painted faces for sure!! Great job to both of you guys, they all look amazing and im glad you share the journey with us all... Lucas, I'm a sucker for nurgle but that boss was AMAZING and can imagine how the rest of the army would look with a bit more time. Sorry dude yours looked really great too.
I am a huge fan of both to be fair. Luca's really nailed an amazing aesthetic with his dwarves but I gotta give it to Emil, those large nurgle models were simply gorgeous and super saturated!

Lucas did a great job, but the black packs and guns look so plain next to those amazing faces and great yellow. My vote goes to Emil. Twice the models, monsterous creatures, and all look amazing.
My daughter and I both vote for Emil. Lukas crushed it for sure (and I'm a huge dwarf fan). That said, Emil's Frazetta-inspired color and technique on the larger models was ace!

I gotta give it to Lucas this time! Emil is the reason I got into this hobby and started painting! But it was just too many miniatures in too short a timeframe! Lucas killed it with those dwarves. Those faces were awesome!
Emil. Good quality painting on whole army. Lucas have a few amazing looking models, but rest of the army is a few colors and high quality heads.

Mainly because the dwarves need more work. And because I would love to see Lucas struggle a bit more and paint even more Space Dwarves models!
I vote Emil, I think his army popped a lot more when compared to the Votann!
the votann scheme look great, but emil's end product is just way more complete. I love the faces on the larger deamons!

I will give the edge to Emile....by a small margin. I love the Nurgle colors....all the greens, pink, purple.....I LOVE the uniformity of the dwarves and Lucas did an outstanding job working with my most hated color...yellow...
I would say Emil won he got a large amount of the army done. Even with having to paint more and bigger models.
Streaking grime responds really well to a hairdryer. You can hold it far away so that more heat is hitting the model than air and the mineral spirits will flash off
I could have spent 24 hours one ONE of these dwarven faces and not achieve this result. Amazing job, Lukas

It seems like Lukas has the lead but I've gotta vote Emil! I think people have been swayed by Lukas' sneaky tactic of excellent faces and that absolutely RAD HQ he painted, but Emil clearly had more models with multiple layers and techniques used across his whole army and I'm actually shocked how much he got done in just 24hrs.
Thats a really tough decision, Emil did and absolut amazing job the Details are amazing. Same goes for Lukas with the faces and the leader. I go with Lukas cause i like the theme kinda more and i really want to see Emil paint another one of these :)

Emil has to get my vote, but Lucas, those Votann are competition level. With 20 min on each mini, as you said, the vote would've gone to you.
My vote is for emil. Feels like betrayal as I collect daemons however that yellow armour is unbelievably good and looks fantastic great job !!!!
I love the dwarves, but with the color scheme and contrast of the nurgle, Emil won me over. Especially with the sloppity boi, one of my favorite minis.

Emil. I would do unspeakable things to be able to paint a face as well as Lukas painted his entire squad's, but Emil got a lot more finished and they're bigger and more impressive figs. The guts, torn flesh, and various other textures swing it for me.
Lucas saying "you're a f**cking drying time!" was priceless. He gets my vote for that alone.
Emil: “i can finish it in my spare time” hahaha, as if you have any of that 😁

not all the minis emil painted were the same quality, but the ones that were were incredible, my point has to go to him
Lucas gets my vote! Emil you did some great work though - esp with the really big models. Lucas, overall look is awesome but those faces - wow! I think you were also closer to a completed finish too!
I would love a short of some more tips on painting these dwarf heads. Quite tricky!

I would say both paint jobs are amazing! Really astonishing what you did in this time! I just want to see you both painting again :P . Love your content since I started 2 years ago with mini painting and I liked it even more after I first heard you're name is the same as my oldest son Emil. Now that Lucas showed up in all your videos, the content reached a whole new level. I still found it unbelievable as you both share the same names like my son an me. Keep up the nice work!
Nurgle has always been my favorite demon army, perhaps because when I first got into Warhammer the head of the gaming group I joined was a Nurgle player who was an incredible painter and modder.
I love both your styles and paint jobs, the highlights on all of them are absoloutely amazing, I hope i can manage to get as good as you guys someday and always look forward to doing more painting. Both armies are absoloutely beatiful but I have to say just because of the faces Lukas wins here, emThe skin and detail on Emil's figures was amazing but the few models he couldnt get done let him down. I don't understand how you guys do it! Amazing!!!

Such a great video guys! I've already watched it twice b/c I have no idea who to pick! I'm going to go with Emil though, that Glotkin is just amazing! Lucas is such an amazing painter but on this one I think the planning for the challenge ended up being the difference.
Both armies turned out awesome as hell! But if I have to choose one it has to be Lucas' Squats! Love those new models and they turned out so frikking cool!

Awesome video. I’ll call this video Drying Times for Lucas. So torn between which army to choose I absolutely love the yellow of the space dwarfs however I have to give the win Emil because his plague army just had more colours and minis.

Super difficult choice as both are amazing artists and those Dwarf faces are superb, but overall will go with Emil
Lucas win this round IMO. The detail on the faces is amazing and the pop of that yellow is also really well done. Very cohesive and well done.
My vote goes to Lukas. Faces are perfect and the color scheme looks great on Votan. His special character looks awesome and I wish he could finish the rest to the same standard. That would be quite the sight!
Lucas wins with the Nurgle because the marines while nice were not as finished. Cool video!

While i'm forced to choose i guess i'm giving Lucas the victory, even if by a very little photo-finish-ed margin. And not (just) because they are dwarves (1) but because it seems to me more completed on the overall while Emil's army seems to me a bit less finished. Also he failed to answer the correct number of Space Marine Legions so in the Eye of the Emperor he must atone with another 24-hour video 😀😀

Great looking armies, while I hate the Voltan stuff, the faces of Lucas’ guys looked superb, so I’d have to go with that

Lukas did a great job on those dwarf faces. And I love the variety of looks across Emils Nurgle armies. Blue demons yet still looks cohesive.
With the excellent editing and snappy pace, I could see this being the format for a Warhammer hobby oriented reality tv show.
Both not finished, both must paint again, maybe orks. What was finished looked wicked especially the squat faces.
