I love your recipies. Straight forward and easy to follow. I'm a 60 year old white man from Manchester. I have been cooking curries for nearly 40 years. But your's have given me new tastes. Thank you. You explain everything clearly.
I usually discard that liquid but I’ve seen people using that liquid, so it’s all up to you. Just keep in mind that the liquid is very salty so first taste the gravy and then add salt.
I keep trying curry recipes and even though I like them I always feel something is missing. My daughter is a veggie and absolutely loves chickpea and potatoe curry. Going to to try this one tonight. Looks delicious. Your voice is so calming, thank you for a great video which looks easy to follow.
When I watch a delicious recipe video such as this one, I sometimes get the feeling that there is an inherent goodness in good food, eating alone or sharing with others. I simply must make this and share this with friends and family!
Well that came out incredible! I just finished making it this morning after watching your RUclips video last night and then reviewing it again this morning and it turned out perfect. I did make a couple of changes. I added two very large jalapeno peppers with seeds and I doubled up on the hot Indian chili spice because even when I order Indian food in restaurants I always ask for it. Indian hot. It was straightforward and easy to make. And a fringe benefit is my house now. Smells incredible too. Thanks for posting that and I do agree less dishes is better.
Bumbi, after eating your Keema twice a weeks for the last 6 weeks we decided to try this, absolutely delicious. Thanks again for taking time to share your knowledge with us.
I am so glad you liked it but all credit goes to the person who put in all that effort into making it taste delicious. I also have a chole recipe on my channel. Here is the link to that video - RESTAURANT STYLE CHICKPEA CURRY(VEGAN) | PUNJABI CHOLE MASALA ruclips.net/video/haeeIC2hadE/видео.html
You are unique not in your cooking style but your talking style. Way long to go bumpi. We all are with you and more is coming 👍🏻👍🏻 Dishes are tempting as well❤❤
Yes my friend, I make like this all the time. I am becoming lazy😜, but believe me it tastes delicious so why not take the easier way of making it. You too have a lovely weekend🌺🌷💐
Since I found your channel, I have been slowly adding spices to my collection as my budget allows. I became so excited watching this video as I realized I finally have everything I need to make a dish! I'm going to make this tomorrow!
This recipe convinced me to invest in a pressure cooker. Did the same thing it all called for but but in a pot, so just took longer. I've never been able to make anything comparable to restaurants until this channel, thank you Bumbi! 🙏
@@CurriesWithBumbi not just useful, a good connection to other cultures. Was able to share this recipe I made with a few coworkers this week to taste and give pointers. The Nepali guy said at face value he would have judged it as being made by a more experienced Indian mom who put care into their dishes. The Bengaluru said not too spicy and tons of flavor, she was surprised I'd made it for the first time. My older Irish manager agreed that if you need more veg in your life the best way is always ethnic. As you mentioned props to the cooks but also homage to the teacher too. Thanks for making good healthy food more available, will definitely try more, especially the vegan ones!
I'm so glad I found this account. Thank you. I have a standard, Tower brand, non digital pressure cooker and I haven't used it yet as I'm not very confident about pressure cooking. Mine looks similar to yours Bumbi. I cook chickpea and potato curry fairly regularly, but never in a pressure cooker.
I am in the process of making this recipe today, and it is turning out amazing! I've tried a lot of curry recipes before, but this is the first time that the curry actually tastes good and like how a curry should taste! Thank you so much! I really appreciate that you tell us here that you should put in the spices later to stir fry, because otherwise they might get too burnt. I think a lot of my previous attempts at curry may have burnt the spices, because they always turn out really bitter. Thank you for the guidance, I'm excited to eat tasty chickpea curry tonight.
I had a can of chickpeas in my pantry so I used that instead of soaking the dry ones overnight. I followed your recipe step by step - except i didn’t need to pressure cook it so it was cheater’s “express version” 😝 and i skipped fenugreek leaves but it STILL turned out yummy Next time I’ll try it the PROPER way by soaking the dry beans overnight Thanks for the recipe. 👍🏽
Wow i was thinking that I would maybe add sugar because of the acidity and then you said “ add sugar “ Thank you for your content you are teaching me a lot 🙏
I have made this multiple times and it tastes amazing every time. It is definitely a staple and is great for meal prep. Thanks so much Bumbi. I love your kind voice☺️🩷
I just came across your channel. I made this channa gravy and added some finely chopped leafy veg n fenugreek powder as I didn't have kasturi methi. Curry went well with chapatis😋

When using canned chick peas. Is it ok to use the juice they are in, in the can?
I usually discard that liquid but I’ve seen people using that liquid, so it’s all up to you. Just keep in mind that the liquid is very salty so first taste the gravy and then add salt.

Hi, Bumbi😊 I tried the Chole Masala today and it is yummylicicious and instead of adding sugar, I added date and tamarind chutney. It's fantastic.
