Bro I know this maybe a dumb question but what is the difference between a "static hold " and isometrics and what are the benefits of both. Keep up the great work 👍

Seeing as equipment like that is hard to come by, what would be good alternatives? I like to do ballistics with the medball, or resistence bands as well as the landmine. Are those good alternatives?

The thing about this training is according to principles of motor control and learning, All speed and power movements are a combination of strength and skill. You can take the strongest powerlifter or bodybuilder and he will be uncoordinated and even slow despite his strength because he has not acquired the skill to punch, kick or wrestle and use their strength.
It is the same here, You can become very fast or powerful doing this training but there is no guarantee it will transfer to a punch or kick, It is a totally different movement the same way a punch or kick with bands is a totally different movement. This could even result in a negative skill transfer if the athlete has low skill discrimination.

Yes of course, skill acquisition is first and foremost. In my case these two athletes are both veterans with decades of professional experience in combat sports so we enhance these skills by improving on thier ability to generate force fast. For beginners the focus should always be the sport skill practice improving on biomotorabilities and technical efficiency. There’s no problem with the training only the the context of the athlete that it’s being distributed to most like anything in sport performance.

@@PhilDaruStrong I see, but correct me if I am wrong. Any strength and conditioning programme will work to strengthen and thus make the athlete more explosive? What is the advantage of doing this especifically? Because as I understand this could result in a negative or non skill transfer.

I respect Daru i know he knows hes shit. But this fighter power training damn thats some wierd ass shit :'D But yeah its logical that to train to explode you need to jump around like a spring chicken.

lol I get it, but we’re simply improving tendon stiffness it’s similar to jumping rope or performing running drills. We use these to challenge movement competency that creates a better working body. Once they can move freely and through all planes of motion with good intent then the natural boxing skill work that they’ve been able to perfect over the years by actually practicing and competing in the sport becomes even more seamless.
