A couple of mustangs are running 8's with Kong ported Edelbrock 2650's and stock short block. Crazy what this world has come to. 8 second cars use to have to get trailered to the track now daily driver..
mike vazquez that’s a fact. The race world has gone wild
The REAL muscle car era is NOW!
@@Ruthless-1699 no the technology era
lol and to think waaaay back in the day (1996-2003) high 11's to low 12's was "fast"..
Something tells me Fran is making calls trying to come up with a shortblock for the ZR1!
And that steering wheel IS sick!
You just sold Kong a bunch of his blowers!!
The whipple 2.9l supercharger system is better. 😎
@@EliteOnTheBeat whipples are known for locking up. And the 2.9 will only make abt 1030-1050 max. Twin screw blowers can't produce the pwr of small Roots blowers.
It takes a 4.0 whipple to produce the same pwr as a Maggie or kong 2650.
Fran is a tuning wizard! This thing is Full effort 1010hp on stock trans and converter! That's crazy! Just shows what a good shop and tuner can do! 🤙🏽
holy shit, Greg is in the money now! I wanna see one on the ZR1
Patrick M. Blanchard the guy is the super hero us LS9 and LSA guys needed....
@@mericafreedomland3583 wats the difference between ls9 and lsa GO !!!
Mr. TAMW well LS9 is basically a forged LSA, rods crank pistons are all stronger, lsa has a 1.9 blower ls9 has 2.3, im sure there are some more but thats the main differences i believe
He did the zr1 already it picked up 130whp. Went from 940whp to 1070.
@@ElijahWash he already put on on his white C6ZR1?
Greg seeing that slip and knowing he's about to make bank on this. 😂
Hats off to everyone. This shit has me so energized to get my car where it needs to be to handle that blower.
My wife tried taking my phone in middle of video she almost lost a ✋
Awesome work and yes that would look good on Fran's ZR1
LMAOOOOOOOO
🤣🤣
Yea thats a nono. My wife & 6yr old daughter know when im watching racing vids nothing matters😂😎
Well, back to the corner holding a sign "Kong has new blower, need money!!!"
They are half the price of an lsa
@@doozerchuck8625 what??? An LSA bare blower new from gm is 1800 and this new blower is almost 6 grand.
No shit man I need to start hoeing and get my cash up.
Damn, insane results the guys over at kong performance really know what theyre doing. Really impressive gains and awesome video explaining the two systems.
About time the LSA guys get more options. This is exciting!
Hell yeah it’s an amazing supercharger. I can’t wait to get mine on!! I am in for 1100 rear wheel
Best NEW PRODUCT video to date. You can't dispute the facts. I'm basically sold. Just have to wait on a big check to buy it.
Fran's ZR1 is about to be renamed King Kong when he gets that "special one off" Kong blower for all of this work😏😏😏😎
Solid video guys 👍 It’s been a while since I watched an entire 40 minute video without skipping.
Erectuon as well
I can see the "Domonic toretto" memes already !! "It's got a kong 2650 blower ! Not a bad way to spend $5000" haha
The Dyno pull in the intro of this video was nuts!!!! How hard it compressed the suspension and those tinny tires!! Looked like the rear end was about to jump out of the car too when he let off, it was that compressed!! Fricken rad man!!!!
That supercharger is AWESOME!!! GREAT WORK KONG... and RPM
Way to go Kong Performance. Enjoy seeing your products here and on Complete Street Performance channel.
Incredible
Denmah approves
Definitely a keeper!!
Time to collect cash on the streets and sell tickets at the track. Beast Mode!!
Love seeing power/torque increases like that from bolt-ons.
I have watched this video every day of the quarantine
The Boss laying down the FACTS for the internet and probably just sold a bunch! Awesome, super awesome video and Kong congrats.
Fran I love your videos, it's the only real GM channel on here,by the looks of it you run a series shop too,I will be sure to bring my toys to you this spring for tuning!
Awesome performance with that swap. Especially, without a cam change.😎
Very impressive. Spinning a blower slower and making that kind of power.
Can't wait to see what happens with more track time and tuning. 👍
Great job on the data presentation. That's how you do it. The 2650 blowers are definitely efficient. C7 Z06's are loving them as is from Magnusson. With good porting on top of that - wow
Finally the video we been waiting for 🤙🏽
The labeling of the stock mufflers is fantastic.
Absolutely Perfect data comp! Hats off too all you guy's!!! 🤙 content.
So will one of these 2650 be going onto frans Zr1 ?
Fran “just the facts nothing else”.
Yep bigger blower, bigger pulley= more efficiency and lower IAT's... less stress on the blower as well= power!! Great video
Who else is waiting for the Mightnight ZR1 to get one? 👀👀👀
Oh Fran, I love it when you talk facts to me. Lol awesome results. Can't wait to see how much more it can make and trap and run.
The day this was sneak released, my Lingenfielter parts showed up...If I had only waited a week.... FACK me! I need this setup! I want this setup!
more mas flow and less heat due to friction.. this is an easy science. more power. nice work guys! great vid!
Science Fran is very informative. We need more Science Fran.
That run where he spun the tires he also toted the front wheel for a second I seen light between his wheel and the concrete
Yea I caught that also bro. Caught lil air time
So this full weight CTSV with all the options still in tact, still rocking a 6 speed auto and IRS, with no crazy amount of money thrown into the suspension runs 9.1 at 150+ shortly after putting on the 2650. What has Guitarmagedon run with his LSX block, TH400, thousands in suspension, hole cut in his hood, and plenty of weight reduction run in his ZL1? If I remember correctly he hasn't run an 8 yet and if this setup was in a car like his with all the supporting modifications he's done it should run mid to low 8s easily. I've never felt like his car was setup by competent shops anyway.
@@msw7021 oops
He just set the record for a gen 6 zl1. But before that happened I was of the same opinion. I think it’s his smug attitude
@@ronmcbee4743 I am glad he set the 6th gen record but his 5th gen has never performed anywhere near what it should. Imagine if this CTSv had as much weigh reduction and quarter mile prep poured into it as his 5th gen does. It would easily be a mid 8 second car. His car has never done what it should and every video of his I have watched when he takes it to the track he seems to be taking open step forward and eight steps back. RPM swapped the supercharger out on this car, Fran tuned it, they went to the track and within 2 passes had enough data to leave the line hard and make a full pass. It left the line and made a full power pass without issue. The last video I watched of him racing his 5th gen he was having throttle body or MAF issues after he spent all that money on upgrading the suspension. His car makes the power on the dyno but has yet to put it down for 1320 feet.
06 TrailblazerSS no argument, point taken. I’m going to get one.
@@ronmcbee4743 a CTSV or Kong 2650? Since this Caddy went a 9.1 I wonder if a 5th gen would be any faster and if so how much. Or if this setup was in a 5th gen with some weight reduction (not insane race car level weight reduction) a torque converter, suspension, and drag pack would run. How far in the 8s this setup could go. Personally I would love this setup in a no option hard top 4th gen SS Camaro with tubular suspension, coilovers, TH400, converter, 9" rear, lightweight brakes and a 15" drag pack. I had a 6 speed hard top SS 4th gen with manual seats, windows and locks no cruise. With only tubular K member control arms as the weight reduction and a Moser 9" and coilovers (not sure if lighter or heavier than stock shocks and springs) offsetting some of that weight loss but it was pretty damn light. I don't remember exactly the weight but with a TH400 it would probably be lighter than a T-56 but the LSA with the supercharger and heat exchanger and all would weigh more than the head and cam NA LS1 I had. I've seen the LSA supercharger under a 4th gen cowl with the K member spaced so it could fit. A 4th gen with this LSA, TH400, suspension and 9" should weigh less than 3500lbs 1000lbs less than this CTSv. So 7s shouldn't be difficult at all and while this is an optimized LSA build it isn't a ludicrous extreme setup so it doesn't seem like something that couldn't be driven a good bit and not be unbearable. Hell you could even keep AC and heat and have a 4L80E instead of a 400 and drive it anywhere. Damn, now I want another 4th gen to put a LSA in.
I have a 3.6 kenne bell blower. I would let you put it on the same car and see if it makes any more or less power.
Ray powell probably make less and create a lot more heat
I’ll take it😅
Great show everybody😎👍 so informational love it!!
I'm a ford Guy.... Great Video Love this channel. You guys Rock
Mad Props Gangster at Tuning!
Nice test, Thanks for posting. great info
Awsome, great work RPM and Greg. Now make one for the 2017 Camaro ZL1.
Wait that damn Red Station wagon @2:24 was legit!
Great stuff guys, very informative.
Btw what idiots disliked this video? Nothing to not like about this. Keep up the great work.
#TRUTH
HELL. YEAH. BROTHER. DO IT FOR DALE!
Low 9's in a fully dressed ctsv... Doesn't get much better
and no cage
Factz shiiii fast asf for full weight n all except for wheels n tire
Exept caddzilla ran 7s in a qtr with full interior and working onstar lol..1320 has video proof..lol
thanks I learn something new each video
I ran some numbers that say the engine was making more than 1010hp, I’d say closer to 1200hp at the track. That was a fast mph for the ET so there’s more left in the ET if it can get hooked up and 60ft better, probably mid 8.8’s, but in the process the mph will likely be a bit less. It would seem odd but when the same car gets a better ET the mph will drop, because it had less time to build speed. This can be seen just in the two runs where he launched easy but still went 152+ and then the better ET it was just over 151.
Very impressive. Looking forward to seeing these out in the streets
They switched from a 1.9L to a 2.65L, which is a 40% larger supercharger. It's no wonder the boost pressure increased 36%, and the power went up 17%...
At least somebody on here is paying attention.
Congrats Joey!
You guys are excellent, wish I had the spare cash to have you work on my Corvette.
Kong does good porting for the Edelbrock blowers also
Wow, very impressive numbers!
Holy shit! You have to love this car.
Cant wait for a built LS9 and ome of these on max effort.
So you made more power with an additional 6 lbs of boost? Maybe I missed something, but why is that revolutionary?
Keep watching
@@RaceProvenMotorsports I'm not trying to be smart or anything....just trying to see what I'm missing.
Lsa blower is maxed out. So if your thinking in your head “make 6 more psi with the LSA blower”. We can’t. That’s why a bigger blower.
It's making more boost spinning the blower less. Pretty much exactly why the LSA isn't the supreme blower all the nut swingers say it is. This is badass. Interested to see how much boost this blower will make for guys willing to push the limit.
Can you use a interchiller on the 2650?
416 been finished with in this month, LSA has been sold expect a phone call soon and a customer from Texas ordering one. This will be going on a SS sedan that already had an LSA swap with a stock LSA blower......Question though reason you all launch in 2nd.
Would have like to seen what the 2650 would have made with 15 PSI
My guess is similar to lsa but cooooooooollllerrrrr!!
Would the 150hp gain still be the same on a 376ci vs the 416ci?
It would be a precent gain
Great video Fran!
LOVE the intro jam
Is there any chance you guys will open a motorcycle division to build and tune bikes?
Way cool vid............we will be in need of a KP fix before much longer.🙋♀️
Gotta love Fran tho, no bs this is what it is, tell it like it is and if you don’t like it then go somewhere else.. 😎seems to be a typical pro tuner trait tho. Lol 😎 but I’d pick him and RPM Over most to work on my car tho.
Sounds like that 2650 just helps produce more dense of an air charge all around.
(Read with heavy sarcasm)Hey Fran, great video...sooooo when do we get the "real" stats...the internet speed experts say that it's impossible with those parameters...ain't no blower alone gonna make that much power...my daddy has a 64 Camaro with a Texas speed 100 c.i. and it makes 3000 horsepower...and it bakes cakes too!
Literally just watched this to see how the 90mm tb fit with the new blower. Im predicting a lot of sleeping on the couch in my future!!
Would have been cool to see, the 2650 max port job blower sameday..Nice video, lots of work by all
Are you gonna put on of these on the ZR1 when you fix it ???
I saw another company's 2650 on a LS2 on a GTO and it was pushing over 700hp to the tires, the shop that did it said it's a must to upgrade the fueling to the motor at those numbers, none the less these 2650s are no joke! The LS2 only had a blower cam in it,and that mf screamed!
I don't think it was mentioned in the video, but is this all on E85? Not pump 93 I'm assuming?
This video gets a thumbs up.
Designed and manufactured by Edelbrock in Torrance CA USA!
What?
So I have a question, can this Kong LSA 2650 benefit from porting?
from what i could see it obviously has a CNC port match and probably comes pretty well sorted out from Kong already but as with all race parts if some is good more is better lol
Great video, 2650👍
Thanks for great video I love your content
Will you do a test with the ls9 and the Kong 2650
🤔 Wonder how competitive the price will be.....looks to be a great piece...👍👍
Keep up the great vids RPM
1:55 I need this setup for all RUclips racing videos.
Little slip or flare on 3-4 shift?
Guess we know what blowers going on Frans ZR1.......!
Also, Got my, "get Gapped," sweatsirt, and pop socket, and a FREE lanyard!!! Thanks. You figure out who I am now :)
Liked before I even watched
Awesome and informative comparison. What's funny about it though...you could provide every single piece of information possible and people are still gonna b%@!$. Haters gonna hate
100% fact haha
That's killer caddy .
Cant wait to see what this kong blower will do
Time to up the ante with titanium exhaust, carbon fiber bodywork (painted to look unchanged), and performance brakes.
Boost is just a measure of resistance on a given engine. Do you have CFM data for a given blower shaft rpm? That would help with comparison to another blower.
There’s like literally no flow info on the blower kinda sad
I didn’t think a stock converter and trans in that black CTS-V could handle that much power on top of racing at the track
What are you all using for fuel.... I know it says RPM fuel system but what does in consist of
Wondering about the casting efficiency of the housing. Would like to see this compared to a Mag and the edlebrock.
The 2650 is made by Edelbrock in Conjunction with KONG
Would’ve loved to seen it tested with the DDP intake
What laptop does Fran use to tune these cars? I had to get a old pc computer but it’s so slow lol trying to upgrade
Great video guys
Wow! Lots of fun to watch, but how much did all of it cost?
My favorite car all time
The real question is. Will Fran swap out his LS9 supercharger for a Kong 2650. When he puts his ZR1 back together?
