Since I left RPM to follow you here I absolutely love this tuner. He takes the time to explain and talk about the builds. RPM T-Rex tuner was so condescending and basically laughed at builds instead of explaining them. Yup, build the motor first and get better results.
well......’ol Steve brought me to LMP & I really like the content, sooooo much that I don’t even waste my time with RPM anymore. 😉. keep up the good work Steve. 👍
Have an LSA in my 69 Camaro. Already have Kong intake w/ injectors, pulleys, fuel pump and a tune. Was considering Kong 2650. Glad I held off. Great info… Thankyou!!
We finished the build on my 2013 ZL1 and dyno with a street tuned on 9/29/22 with a magnuson 2650, 9.5 lower pulley, ported heads, btr stage 3 cam, 1050 injectors, 2" headers, 3" cat back with corsa, Monster S triple disk, Roto Fab 5", afco, bmr tank, and MM catch can. We ended up with 957.6 rwhp, 846.3 torque with 16+lbs of boost at 7,000 rpm in Colorado. It was still climbing, but decided to play it safe. We will probably add the 80mm upper pulley and add the Inter chiller to assist with cooling, and thinking it will crack 1,000 whp? I dig all of your content! Very informative information with an experience builder and tuner with a detailed thought process behind your builds! ✌
I’ve been patiently waiting for a new video 😁. Great content as always. Love when Alec starts dropping some knowledge about the right and wrong way to do things. Helps those of us that are always trying to learn.
Just finished watching this video. Very thorough explaining several things ive questioned or curious about before i invest in which route of building my V2.
More air into the engine as a basic principal first, then add the boost. Boost is a measure of restriction as we know. If your're at 25lbs, then more add more flow at 18lbs is much better and lowers IAT2 temps allowing more timing and less danger of detonation. Seems people forget that these are just air pumps. CFM in, then out is where it's at.
I think I would prefer if you guys did more step-by-step instillation videos on the superchargers etc. I do think your videos are in general better than rpm content but a little build progression would be even better.
I'm glad I saw this video. I was going to go with a 2650 so I had room to grow on my 18 v. I will probably do pully meth tune and call it good. I daily drive it in the summer. My wife has a v sport. Has anyone ever done turbo v8 swap in that platform yet?
I have been running a 2650 blower on my stock 2016 camaro for over 3 years I love the low charge temperature all day every day from California to Arizona. The blower doesn’t care what the outside temp is.
@@robertm2172 cool I’m up in the Bay Area. I was considering trying to do a turbo build for my gbody. I snatched a lq4 6.0l for it. Since custom turbo plumbing isn’t so easy for me to solve I’ll probably just do a blower. Put my Lsa setup on the gbody then upgrade my Camaro to 2650 with new heads stg 3 cam nw tb and 5” intake.
My 2017 SS has a JLT CAI and a DiabloSport tuner. I got the AFR between 14.63 and 10.5 but still getting a lean code. 14.6 at idle and 10.5 under WOT is that lean? I'm getting the P0171 and P0174
It's great to know that tuners know the real shit. I've been watching the guys at LMR, and they know their shit. You guys look like you know yore shit too! Thanks for the video. Oh, I own a stock 2011 CTS-V with a CAI and Corsa mufflers. Thanks for the video!
@Late Model Performance What cooling mods do you recommend for a 427cu"/2650 blower combo? In this video you mentioned cooling is important due to bigger everything and i believe in another video you stated that you are not a fan of interchillers. Curious what route you would take?
Idk if this is the right way to ask this question, but it aligns with the video pretty well. I have a 2650 setup that seems to be making really low power and I'm not sure why. 427 DART block, M311 heads, 2" headers, 117.0 +4, 246/257, 620/613 cam specs, 3.5/10.0 pulleys, fore triple pump on E85, Connection 2200cc injectors. Only make around 730whp on about 12 lbs of boost with 17 degrees of timing. Injectors are at around 60%, AFR is a little rich at 10 WOT. Should I try just putting a smaller upper on to turn the boost up, or is something else messed up and causing the low power output? My tuner went over everything multiple times but couldn't find anything inherently wrong, either with the tune or mechanically.
Hey bro. I have a V2 A6 sedan. The setup Jokerz is stock ported blower, snout and throttle body. All cooling mods. Texas speed PDS blower cam. ID 1000 and Deatschwerks dual pump with DSX flex fuel setup. Pulley setup is 2.38 upper a d 9.25 lower, boost at 15 min to 18 sometimes. I make 710whp pump and 887whp e85. My timing is at 20 degrees with 315' elevation. I think your whp is low due to you timing and boost. Your DA could also play a big role. You have a very stout setup for reliability. I say turn up you TIMING and BOOST, assuming you have your COOLIING mods done properly and let her eat!!!!! Good luck with you setup!!
I’ve heard multiple times that the stock blower on a LT4 just blows hot air beyond stock boost and “it just makes more sense to go with a 2650” Thoughts?
I’d rather listen ,and learn from anyone who’s decent at tuning..I turned a wrench for almost 30yrs since 1987-88 till a motorbike crash..anyone who thinks they can’t learn no matter their time wrenching will get left behind..
So I'm just curious because I'm about to buy a 2650 but for a different reason. I thought the logic was pretty sound that the 2650 could make the same horsepower but the rotors are spinning slower so they make less heat for the same amount of power. So if you're going to make the same power but you're going to be boosting often it would take a lot longer to heat soak your IAT with the 2650 then with the stock blower at the same horsepower. Is that not correct?
You're right the cooling is better. He's saying that if you're not looking for more than 900, then just do cooling mods and keep a stock blower. The 2650 is only really necessary for big power
To think this guy totaled this CTSV😒. seen the forums this guy wrecked a masterpiece. You can have to money with no skill or the skill and no money. Either way you can never have everything
What ramp speed are you guys using because that run is like 3 seconds. Curious why you don’t actually use a rate that is more relatable to real world ramp rate. I’m using around 180 on a main line hub. Looks like you guys are using like 400? At that rpm rate the IAT wouldn’t even heat up to a real world pull. Very curious as to why. Thanks and love the vids!
Ramp speed on it is 300. Mainline says you want to run the ramp “time” in high gear very close what it would be at the track. The start speed has a lot to do with it to. A th400 car is in 3rd gear at the track longer then a 10l90 would be in 6th gear for. I set up different ramp speeds for diffferent transmission types. But typically 4.5/5.1 second range is what we use. If you lug a blower/turbo/nitrous car down to much really bad things will happen
@@allisonbledsoe8921 Yeah being in Australia i have dealt with mainline a lot and use mostly mainline dynos. I know what Mainline say but they are far from a tuner that tunes every single day developing tunes for cars. Reason i question it is because ive seen people using these ramp rates making over 1000hp. Then at the drags the cars are slow because the IATs are super high because a 1/4 mile is say 10 seconds but their dyno run is 4 seconds and then by half track the engine is pinging or pulling timing or the afr is going super lean due to the fuel pumps not keeping up etc. Then these guys cant understand why their 1000hp cars are running high 10's. Thanks for the response though, i enjoy seeing other people theory behind stuff. Keep up the great vids.
@mototune we actually trans tune on the dyno to. we will launch and them and do a 8/9/10 second simulation and tune off of that as well. We have never had a issue with iats being a issue or 1000whp csr running 10s but I do get what your saying

What's the difference between a kong 2650 supercharger vs a c7 zr1 lt5 supercharger? Is there anything to gain switching to the kong blower?
the blower on the ZR1 is already a 2650 blower, unlike the Z06 or a CTS V

Ported LSA Blower *ALL* Day!!!
So I wanted to buy a v2 sedan , can any1 talk about if I should still get it or get the g8 or ss sedan

That’s v is bad ass. When you said “no” to the meth not being in there 😳😳
Boost goes up efficiency goes down. Weak cam stock heads boost will go up, and it takes even more power to drive the blower.
