Da 🐐 Gave me some great childhood memories. He was absolutely electric at his peak and watching him live was the loudest Ive ever heard the crowd at citi field.
A very short flash in the pan career. Baseball history is full of pitchers like this only in years pasts they couldn't keep medically repairing them. Not being nasty it's very true.
@karlheinzvonkroemann2217 not many pitchers have won 2 cy youngs before. Partially true but when your a mets fan you don't get to watch those players on your team too often.
I used to watch archives of Jake’s best games, like his 15K shutout of the Nats. But I can’t bring myself to do that anymore, because it just makes me too sad.
As a fan that used to target his games to go too,I miss him but I missed him when he was here and on IR so it's the uniform that hurts but the contract that doesn't.Based on his inury history it was the right call but it hurts to lose him either way to IR or other team.He is a great guy and pitcher.
Miss you Jake. I hope you get fully healthy and win a couple more CY Young’s and go in the hall as a Met. I do hate to see people knock him for being injury prone as a Met. From 14-20 he pitched in 185 games Had a 2.64 ERA in 1,169 innings an .99WHIP His first CY young year 1.70ERA .55 WHIP. 217 innings 152 hits 41ER opp average .196 in 217 innings 269 SO amazing.
I wish Jake had been able to stay healthy, even if pitching for a team other than the Mets. He was simply phenomenal when healthy. A pleasure to watch.
For anyone else wondering who "Rack" and "Langy" are, I'm guessing he means Dave Racaniello and Eric Langill, both bullpen catchers. Someone confirm if so, or correct me if not!
Happy birthday to one of my favorite NY Mets. But he really needs to adjust his pitching and mind set to prolong his career. He does not need to throw 100mph on every pitch.
Jake was my all-time favorite player. I don’t care about the injuries; I wish he’d stayed. If there’s one guy I’d bet on to pull a Verlander and win the Cy Young after having Tommy John surgery, if there’s one guy I’d bet on to still end up being worth his contract, it’s Jake. It just sucks that it won’t be in a Mets uniform. This won’t happen, but if he were to re-sign with the Mets for his age-40 season in 2028, it would guarantee that they’d retire his #48. _Ghar waapas aaja, bhaiyya! Please bhaiyya, ghar waapas aaja! 😭_ (Bollywood fans and Hindi speakers should get that reference.)
He's not a traitor, he went to the team who was willing to show him the $$$. Wouldn't you? At the end of the day, it's all about providing for your family, period.
No matter what uniform Jacob Degrom wears he will always be one of the greatest Mets players ever. We miss you.
I'm forever thankful that Jake was a Met. All the best to you, my man.
Happy birthday to Jacob Degrom. We miss you, wish you well, and so happy you have your ring. Best wishes to you

@@karlheinzvonkroemann2217 his 4 year span of dominance has only been done by a handful of people so its not full of pitchers.

LOVE DeGrom - got to see him pitch live many times and it was a true joy
Always a class act.

Miss deGrom. Happy for him though. Was a great Met!
I wish you could come back to the Mets you are my favorite pitcher
When healthy best in the game but key word is when he is healthy!
Very true!
Still never healthy
Great guy, great player, always makes baseball a better game.

So happy for Jake. Hated seeing him go but I love seeing good things happen to good people. Please keep sending Nimmo coyote pics!
Miss Jake as a met. Lord knows he was the best pitcher in the world when he was on the mound healthy
BEST PITCHER ON THE IL
When he was on, he was the greatest
I look at him still as one of the best pitchers. Injured but what he did was incredible
Jacob deGrom hasn't played a full season of baseball since 2019.
Still love DeGrom and Max. I hope they come back full force. Such elite competitors, those two
Hope we get him back in the near future ❤
BEST PITCHER ON THE PLANET.

Injuries killed his H.O.F. chances. Could have won 4 or 5 Cy Young. Wishing him all the best.

You are correct,sir!
He’ll be back on the Mets before his contract is up.
Plenty of time to give interviews. He and Mike Trout should start own show.
we still miss ya jake :(
him being a ranger made me buy a rangers hat although im still a met fan obv....
DeGrom could play out his contract and come back as a reliever to end his career here
Mets caught a break when he left
Who is "Rack"?
Dave Racinello
Who are Rack and Langey?
Dave Racaniello and Eric Langill are bullpen catchers - I'm guessing that's who he means.
Hard to believe that the Mets made the right move by letting him walk.
Who's Rack?
Rack?
I'm guessing it's Dave Racaniello, bullpen catcher.

He will never be Tom Seaver. Those of us old enough to have seen Seaver pitch, know that deGrom was not Seaver.
He is missed
He’ll get hurt again. 😂
METS NEED AN ACE PITCHER TO GET IN PLAYOFFS, BUT THE FRONT OFFICE HAS GIVEN UP ON THEM IF THEY GET A PITCHER IT WILL BE A TERRIBLE ONE.
Which Ace pitcher would you like them to get? They signed one last year who is injured and they let one go that dealt with injuries and continues to.
