Let’s just take a second and let it sink in that Degrom had the same amount of hits as the nationals.
@Aries Ryker yea, I've been using Flixzone for since november myself =)
@Aries Ryker Definitely, have been using Flixzone for years myself =)
This man really just said "Fine. I'll do it myself."
The only way he gets wins 🤷
Yep🤯
He's kind of been doing that for 4 years...
He’s been getting those batting reps in. He knows it’s only him out there. Nick name should be “bugs bunny”
@@ryandonald6031 he got some offense other than himself this game. It wasn’t all just himself
This man literally does everything for the Mets
FACTS
FACTS
He has to
@Carter Eyler Shohei Ohtani who??
I saw him selling merch after the game
Wow. I'm 31 years old, and when I'm 71 Degrom still might be the most dominate pitcher I've seen
Did you see pedro play? Just asking not saying one is more dominant than another
This is the only person in the whole league that can really say I carried the whole game.

Lol wait for a few more Ohtani games
@@JayD73 I want Ohtani to get his pitching rhythm going. That man has a ton of power.
@@JayD73 Glasstani will break soon lol
@@JayD73 deGrom will always be better. The games ohtani "carries" for the angles they mostly lose
Congrats Jacob! Mets, please give this man a lot of run support. It would be a crime not to see him pitch in the playoffs
This man has more RBI than runs allowed. Absolutely insane.
CY YOUNG AND MVP
Calm down buddy, It's April. The 60 game season is no more.
@@mjrd1978 and through 4 starts, he's the best PLAYER in baseball
@@AL-ts6iv Great. If pitchers made 4 starts in a season then he would be Cy Young but they usually make around 30 starts a year so let's maybe get to 20 or so before we crown him.
@@mjrd1978 He’s only been getting better. Clearly the best in the league, he had a 1.70 era in 2018 which was a full season and followed that up with another cy young in ‘19. 2020 he was great too and if it wasn’t a 60 game season he prob wins cy young then too. So yeah, really not too early given his track record
@@mjrd1978 Degrom isn't some unproven new kid on the block who you have to worry about imploding through the dog days of July
This was the most dominating game I've seen in a lonnnnng time. Also going crazy at the plate. Dude is a true BALL PLAYA
I’m calling it now he’s winning cy young and at least some mvp votes. Might not win mvp but def gonna get votes
he actually on an MVP pace. He legit could win both this year.

What an amazing outing by deGrom. He's looking good hope he can keep it up this season.

No wonder why he is the best pitcher in the game
yep he the best, cole is second

It throws strikeouts, it pitches a complete game shutout...it even hits and comes away with two runs and an RBI. The New York Mets are proud to present the Jacob deGrom O-Matic!"
It’s crazy how he struck out #42 15 times
If he didn’t get injured this could’ve been one of the best season of all time
Gonna miss you Jake, enjoy Texas
last 3 outings are -
15 K's
14 K's
14 K's
And only 1 Earned run allowed in his 4 starts.
He would've had more ks in the 1st game had their coach not removed him way to early
I've long held that starters are the most valuable players in the MLB. Jacob DeGrom is the best starter, I still don't know how he didn't win MVP in 2018.
Starters are very rarely the most valuable players, the fact that DeGrom absolutely should've won the 2018 NL MVP is actually more remarkable given that he's a pitcher. At this rate he'll get his MVP this year though.
@@ColinGLogan At this rate Burnes will win ESPN's award for best athlete.
deGOAT. He's in a league all by himself rn
I am a Yankee fan and I cant believe that ESPN rated Cole higher over deGrom.
Games like this and pitchers like this (degrom, greinke, prime madbum) are why I don't love but don't mind the NL having pitchers bat. It usually makes for bad baseball but when they win the games all by themselves is always magical
Nah they still need to bring back the DH, if the pitcher is good at hitting he can always just hit as a DH
@@justmyopinion1098 there is a difference between positions. For example 95% of catchers could not be a DH because they are usually the worst hitters on the team but a guy like greinke who hits like a catcher accumulated 2 war in one year by just being a below average hitter
You play offense, you play defense, period. They teach you this in little league. The DH is an abomination, and it's a disgrace to the game that the NL adopted it.
Mets fans absolutely love this guy.
Because they are fully aware that the Mets bats seem to go to sleep when he's pitching. It's amazing how many times he's knocked in the first run in a 1-0 game
Mets won 6-0
@@eric_e95
He also knocked in the first run when the score was 1-0
So what's your point?
@@CanadaMMA my point is the mets offense wasn't asleep today
@@eric_e95 it was, until deGrom drove in a run. If he doesn’t do that, I doubt the Mets score that inning
It’s like he’s playing in another dimension and his team can’t see him

Not only is he blowing people away but he elicits some ridiculous looking swings out of batters.
Untouchable
crazy he didn't get a shot in the big leagues until he was 26. imagine if he had started sooner what his career numbers would be. he's already 32 and still hasn't peaked. insane.
He had tommy John I believe that why took awhile to get called up
Well he played SS in college so he had to learn to pitch
@@JayJay-vd2eb and that actually works for him too, because his arm has less mileage on it than almost every other pitcher in the major leagues

Who else thinks he going to be like this all year long
Im so happy to be a Mets fan for this reason. Witnessing a hall of famer in the making. Truly unbelievable and an absolute master of his craft.
Me too man
@@ghariiscool ERA has got nothing to do with winning. When Dwight and Pedro were in their primes they won.The same can't be said about this guy. Worst so called ace in history. In a 7 year career he only has 72 wins that's only 10 wins a year.At this rate he'll only have 144 wins in a 14 year career.Which is not good enough for the hall of fame.
@@melvinsims5379 so let me ask you this if a guy gives up about 3 runs a game and his team scores 4 runs and he gets the win then is he better than a guy who gives up only 1 run and his team doesn't score a single run and lose ?
@@vsk1494 The point is this...The Cy Young award was made for winners. He himself Mr.Young was the greatest winner of them all with his 511 wins.Having a low ERA and not getting wins means nothing. If anything why doesn't the MLB create a Tim Keefe award to honor pitchers that have low ERA's. Note: Mr.Keefe still holds the record for having the lowest ERA in history 0.86. and he also played on the original 1800 NY Mets.Inducted in The Hall of Fame in 1964.
@@melvinsims5379 even if he doesn't get the win who gives the team the best chance to win ? The guy with low era. Cy young award should be awarded to the best pitcher. Do you think cy young award was created only to give it to pitcher with more wins ? It was most probably created to give it to the best pitcher but most important Stat during that time was believed to be wins so they gave the award for that. So what award should be given to the best pitcher? They don't usually give mvps to the pitchers unless a position player doesn't play good and pitcher performs extremely well and if cy young is supposed to reward the guy on the best team then what is the best pitcher supposed to get ? Nothing while a guy who isn't better than him gets the award. Also you said worst ace in history based on his wins , if you really think that I don't even know what to say.
Baseball needs more of this.. Complete game pitching
Holy Holy Holy Lord God almighty the earth is full of his glory amen praise God praying for everyone everyday God bless you all .
I Touch And Agree In Jesus Name Amen
Ok this man needs to be the MVP favorite right now.
Best pitcher in baseball, if you think he’s not your just wrong
Revisiting this, it’s kind of astounding all the accolades rattled off, but proof that two way players can carry their teams to a win in baseball which goes against everything we are taught about the game.
91-92 mph change up?!?!? Truly pitching in the fast lane.
Creeping fastball at 101 that actually a decent 10 mile difference and as a result a changeup 🤯🤣
What a performance..he can do anything
Lmaoo@ Keith’s reaction after every other K 🤣🤣🤣
Lol
The pop of the ball hitting the catchers mitt is like ASMR to me.
Best pitcher of this generation, so enjoy it whilst you can. That 90-92mph *changeup* cracks me up. Good lord.
MVP as Two-way player? He could make it real.
Jake was first to touch home and last to get an out. Poetic bookending to an epic, record breaking night.
He has a five game hitting streak 🤯
Just some food for thought. Randy Johnson won 4 cy youngs after turning 35. deGrom is 32 and started pitching late so his arm has a lot less mileage than the average 32 year old pitcher. Also has an effortless delivery.
I actually think 2020 he locked in and his better days are ahead... That's scary
Im not a Mets fan but this guy Amazing Pitcher!!! How in the world do Mets afford this guy? He should be paid 40 million a year!!
His contract is less then half of lindors. Pretty sure the mets will just hand him a blank check to fill out his amount for his next contract
He should get top dollar, having him on the mound practically guarantees a win with the 100 mph fast balls and insane ball control he has. The icing on the cake is he can also provide support to the teams offense which is rare for a pitcher.
What a man.
「支配」っていうのはこういうことなんだと実感させられる
He amazing
Degrom is throwing some nasty pitches
They say it, his a phenomenom !!!!
High quality athlete if you ask me
Woooo! That's some good pine tar.
🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐🐐
deGrom is simply Overpower
Dude I swear that if Jake had played a position all through his career - that is, ASIDE from being one of the top five pitchers I've EVER seen (and I, like many of you, have seen some GREATS) - he'd be a Babe Ruth/ Shohei Ohtani type of dude. A two-way player - because he has a naturally pretty stroke at the plate - guys who have natural stroke like that, are obviously just natural hitters.
When you throw good stuff, you're dominant. Think Randy Johnson and Nolan Ryan.
When you control the ball perfectly, you're dominant. Think Greg Maddux.
When you do both, you're Jacob DeGrom
Pedro too!
And when you hit better than some position players........
@@Falkryn80 Really sad that a pitcher does more to help himself get a win with the bat than his own teammates.
@@rubennigaglioni6118 Pedro was the best pitcher in Major League history for 2 years. The guy could probably throw left handed and still be a major leaguer
