Lincoln is one hell of a good place to live. So proud to call it my home town.

I visited Lincoln last week and I felt proud to be English after visiting the magnificent Cathedral and Castle. There is nowhere else in England as beautiful as Lincoln and the surrounding countryside.

Nice video. Uphill Lincoln is pretty much the same as it's always been, but the City Centre (downhill) and the suburbs have changed a lot in the last 25 years.

I had no idea that the Magna Carta (or whatever it was called back then) looked so different. That corner entrance seems such a fundamental part of the Castle Square scene - yet, in 1988, it wasn't that way.

Strangely I was just thinking the same, I never thought the way we see it now looked out of place either, I moved to Lincoln in 89 as a 16yr old.....lived there until 2004/5. Live in Sleaford now.

I was so excited about this, in 1988 I was 7, it's not changed I grew up here I should of known we had a few new signs put up and C&A closed down + the waterside (not a huge change)

I was also 7 in 1988 and remember C&A going as well. I also remember back when the Ritz was a cinema rather than a Wetherspoons :)

some of my ancestors lived here. their name was holkings. they were tailors. I was interested to see where they lived. I bet they loved it in this gorgeous place. I wonder if there are any holkings still living there.

I agree with you there, especially with one of the seven wonders of the world on top of the hill lookiing out gracefully across the green hills of LINCOLNSHIRE. My spiritual home, at the same time i pity those born in and around the city who do not admire the beauty of the place. Maybe they should help make a difference for the better and be grateful of what they have. July 2021🙏❤🇬🇧🇬🇧❤🙏

The touristy bits haven't changed but if you go onto Birchwood and Doddo Park it's changed loads. Lincoln in the 80s was a bit of a dump to be honest. Apart from the vaults and lasers.

@@damianbutterworth2434 Lasers lol, that carpet was proper minging hahaha. Although it was a bit of a dump the night life was second to none through the late 80s and 90s as I recall, I worked on nights as a taxi driver most of the 90s in fact, if you remember A2B Taxi's - worked there a few years driving their Escorts and Mondeos etc :D

Go to the likes of Mansfield, or Middlesbrough, Gainsborough, Scunthorpe etc. ... You'll appreciate Lincoln by miles through the principles of comparison of those places with Lincoln.
