Blimey, I'd have been 10 months old when this was taken. Fascinating how the city centre and uphill looks largely similar, but the University has now dwarfed the entire Brayford pool area.
C&A!!! The highlight of my trips into Lincoln on the bus and it being the main place for clothes - I can still remember the smell now (in a good way). Wow.
What was that smell all about?! I was born in 87 and can remember being in there as a very young child. The carpet and the smell always stuck in my mind. I also remember walking though town on a Sunday and nothing being open and barely seeing a soul.
It’s weird but even though I haven’t lived in the UK for over 30 years, and I haven’t visited my hometown Lincoln since before Covid, this all looks so familiar, as if I was there yesterday. I know things must have changed - they were modernizing the market area last time I was there, and the bus station was all different, but watching this has the effect of making me believe that if I went back it would all still look like this.
The castle and cathedral are not in the city centre. Its a good 10 minute walk down a very steep hill. Lincoln city centre is now mostly closed to its own residents. The council and co-op have altered it so much it is now unrecognisable.
I was 3 year's old when this was filmed 🎥
Beautiful Lincoln. Still live here to this day March 2024!
I was 5…. And also still here May 2024 🎉
Ha so was I!
Born here, and still live here ! ❤
Lived there from 1987 to 1997 lovely town was 5 when we moved there. We lived on Yarborough road in a huge house.

Wonky Pumpkin I used to like c and a as well!
In a good way...? That C&A smell haunted me for years haha!
@@duncangray7269 liked Dorothy Perkins best. Always a good fit. I weighed about 6-7 stone then, about 100 years ago!

How beautiful the castle looked, back then, unlike now, devoid of trees and shrubs, just grass, grass, and more grass. Sad.
Changed a bit since that was filmed
5.20 let's take our step ladders to the toilet.

"Echos doesnt it"
"Certainly does Stewart"
"Why do you keep calling me Stewart"
"I don't really know.....I know your names not Stewart" :)))))
looks the same today!
A close relative of mine always called this city "The land of the ignorant".
I've lived here all my life I must say I've never heard that saying lol, there might be a few! But that's the same in any city isn't it? 😂
@@djmastergroove946 Lol yes i think it's fair to say it probably is.
